I appreciate being introduced to the General Thanksgiving prayer through this book. The phrase-by-phrase analysis and commentary has helped me understand the prayer better. Plyming has also provided many examples to illustrate his points. Of the prayer, what struck me most is the first line. In our Lent group discussing this prayer the question was posed: do you relate more to God as God Almighty or Father of all mercies? I have been thinking about this question since, and it has provoked me to dig deeper to uncover stumbling blocks in my relationship with God. I look forward to memorising this prayer and use it often for my own devotion and meditation.
