I can't stand the double standards. He is heartbroken but he had countless affairs while the last time she had sex was 3 years ago.
like come on, oh and of course she is the one true love and he never kissed anyone. Yeah I get the difference in dynamics, him being a powerful politician/billionaire but this is just lack of imagination.
I don't want to read books that are close to real life, I want to read books to escape.

A complicated second chance lovestory. Emerson and Mikhail were childhood friends then lovers until the day they decided to elope that's when both had their hearts broken.
10 years later after the death of Mikhail's grandfather. Both find themselves in the same room for the reading of his will Emerson doesn't understand why she was required to be at the reading of the will.
The will has the power to financially support her family, as her mother is seriously unwell and may very well die and with the medical trail maybe able to help. Emerson agrees to the conditions of the well. It may break her heart all over again.
Mikhail can't believe his grandfather would be so cruel he had made Mikhail's life difficult when it involved Emerson. Do why would he put himself all the pain again. Then he remembers the money will help Emerson's family.
While Mikhail doesn't need the money Emerson does, and having his grandfathers money will financially help Emerson and her entire family. Mikhail thought the time had healed his broken heart. He was wrong
Both have many emotional issues to work through and the forced time together have them both torn.
Plenty of emotions at play and sacrifices made from both sides.
It doesn't take long before all their past shared experiences have them unable to hold back. Plenty of misunderstandings that continue to hurt and confuse.
I enjoyed reading and liked reading more about the other characters along the way.

Shandi loves breaking our heart and then mending it the most delicious way possible.
Final book in this series and it was Emerson & Mikhail's story. It's second chance and marriage of convenience.
Mikhail was fiercely protective of his loved ones, confident yet so broke.
Emmy is strong, smart and is just living a broken life.
10 yrs ago they both were madly in love and ready to get married. Something happened and both were destroyed and felt betrayed. So I was so intrigued to know what happened.
Now to get inheritance from the very man that destroyed them, they have to be married for a year..
A lot twists, resistance and heated moments finally leaves to the spice. It comes quite late in the story but Shandi never let's you down when it comes to spice.
I could read a book by Shandi without being told it's hers and know that she is the author. She has a unique way of writing. It's like poetry the way she describes a feeling or situations. I also like how her characters call us readers out for judging them. Really makes you connect with them even more..
I won't tell you what happened 10 years ago nor how it ends but is worth the read.

Broken Vows, book 4 of the Marital Privileges series, follows Mikhail Dokovic and Emerson Morozov through their second chance/ marriage of convenience. The marriage is orchestrated in order for Mikhail to be eligible to receive his (and Emerson’s) inheritance from his Grandfather’s estate. The will lists out a set of “milestones” for the couple to complete over their first year of marriage, at which time they plan to separate, with each task verified and checked off the list a “bonus” amount is given to the couple.
They each try to set aside their heartache from the breakup ten years prior and agree to the marriage for their own reasons.
While both Mikhail and Emerson feel they are the one that was wronged all those years ago the marriage is off to a very rough start. Each one has a personal journey to go through to decide if this really is the second chance that their love deserves.

My oh my how are we ever going to choose our next book boyfriend when Shandi keeps making it hard. I’ve got to say Shandi continues to not disappoint book after book Broken Vows is a must read for any Shandi fan!!! The chemistry and burn between Mikhail and Emerson was intense!!🥵The push and pull throughout was off the charts even though 10 years had passed til they reunited again under certain circumstances a lot wasn’t said but to undertstand what happened you have to read Deceitful Vows first.They went on their lives but couldn’t bury what each had been burning deep inside each other it was so hot 🫠. All the angsty feels these two had for each other was 🤯and the spice well it was enough to make you blush😳. Ms. Shandi keep them coming I love your work hands down one of the best authors and an amazing read you will not be disappointed !!!

True love conquers all even time
Broken vows has definitely taken a top place in my completed list!
I absolutely loved every page, Mikhail and Emerson were dealt a blow in their relationship but with good intentions, that came from the heart.
A decade later it's safe to say their love is still strong even though there's a "battle" of misunderstandings that need to get resolved before they get their HEA.
And it's Hot! 💥
I could feel their emotions in every page, Shandi has hands down hit the ball out of the park with this book.
Anyone who is looking for a book that'll suck you in and hold you captive from page one to the very end NEEDS to add Broken Vows to their collection, there was laughter, tears, even a coffee spattered chin and classic WTH moments through out.
If I could give more than 5stars I really would, I haven't finished a book so quickly in a little while.

This book will make you wish you were a teenager inlove. The chemistry between Mikhail and Emmy reminds me of young love and experiencing stolen moments away from prying eyes.
When they are torn apart by lies and spend a decade apart, all it takes is seeing her again and a condition in his grandfather's will to make him seek her out. For Emmy, it's a little too late but the man she has loved all the years, is her weakness. Their memories of the past are a constant reminder of the hurt they both endured but it still doesn't dampen the scorching chemistry between them. When Emmy discovers the truth, she knows there is only one way to makes things right. A scorching second chance for these two and let me just say, those make out sessions are 🥵🥵🥵

Ten years apart but the passion never died. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions and that was never more true than for Andrik when he told both Emerson’s no Mikhaïl that the other was not going to turn up for the wedding. When Mikhail’s grandfather’s will was read every thing changed and as they rediscovered one another there were so many emotions but through it all there was passion. The dialogue between these two is remarkable and will have you smiling, laughing but at times sad. Andrick and Zoya play a big role in this story but the truth of Andrik’s actions are not discovered until the end but the journey to finding the truth is a wonderful read.

It was well worth waiting for!
We met Mikhail in book 2 of the Marital Privellege series by Shandi. When it was revealed he would get his own book I was excited. This is one is not like the others, it was a slow burn with a focus on the love that has existed between the two main characters. A second chance at love after a decade of misunderstanding and outside interference. Shandi books are brilliantly executed, her writing style has the ability to keep her readers captivated. I consumed it in just over day and it probably would have been less if there wasn't interruptions. I would highly recommend

The heat from this pair was scorching! But under that the love was so strong. The story unfolded beautifully and I was desperate for them to get their well deserved HEA.
I loved how Emerson had Mikhail completely wrapped around her finger, he was completely besotted with her! Emerson had such passionate fire it was easy to see how she ensnared him!
They were the perfect match and this made a perfect read, I loved it.

Although Broken Vows is a standalone, I strongly recommend you read the other books in this series, especially “Deceitful Vows.” The chemistry between the main characters is exceptional, but it is their past history that adds a twist to this story. Turns out, the person behind the hurt and betrayal isn’t the villain you expected. As always with this author, the twist is unexpected, the scenes are hot and steamy, and the story kept me hooked.

Mikhail and Emmy finding their way to a second chance at love, having been torn apart and blaming each other, not knowing neither was to blame. Such incredible chemistry between them and the love they have for each other simmering under the surface. It takes them a while to find their way to forgiveness but it is special when they do. This is such a great read and you will enjoy it!

Soo much pain and heartache with these two. You really feel it. But what you feel the most? Is the chemistry. Emerson and Mikhail are fire! But they definitely both had to earn it.
I absolutely love how interwoven the characters are from the other books in the series. It is definitely a well crafted world/universe.

Second Chance romance
I knew Mikhail's story was going to be fire, and it did not disappoint. His longing for Emerson was heartbreaking. Her strength for herself and her family was inspiring. The chemistry between them both was hot! They had a wild and bumpy ride to get to their happily-ever-after, but it was worth it all.

Such a great book! Mikhail is such a gorgeous character despite his terrible upbringing. He reminds me a lot of Nikolai - his books are some of my all time favourites!

Loved the storyline
I loved seeing the storyline continue! The spice felt like the right amount. Seeing how Mikhail’s life finally has an HEA. Definitely shipping Zhakar and Wynne for a legacy series (fairly sure by my calculations they are not related)!
I loved seeing the storyline continue! The spice felt like the right amount. Seeing how Mikhail’s life finally has an HEA. Definitely shipping Zhakar and Wynne for a legacy series (fairly sure by my calculations they are not related)!

Sexy and sweet
Mikhail and Emerson are the definition of sexy and sweet. This was a second chance romance done right. I was screaming "just talk to each other" for several chapters, but in the end it all worked out. These two were definitely meant for each other, both were stubborn and hard headed. All in all I really enjoyed this book.

2nd chance at a HEA. He's a walking ted flag with a chip on his shoulder. She's a woman scorned who does what she needs to in a desperate situation. Will they be HEA or will they get in each other ways? enjoyable read. my fav or this series.
