Review for the complete series

Sugar Soldier is a great series if you enjoy cute shoujo fluff. The characters are all likeable, the romance is sweet and largely drama-free with both leads treating each other sweetly. There are nice friendships and family relations that don't fall short either. The art is quite typical shoujo but very pretty, definitely one of Sakai's best art-wise.

Although this series does delve into some more serious themes - child abandonment, terminal illness, sibling rivalry and even an implied sexual assault - I found this to be an incredibly light series. It's great as it gives it a nice wholesome feeling without having to over complicate things. But it also means there's no true conflict to overcome which means the series bumbles along a little bit. This is by no means a bad thing as it'll be perfect if you truly just want a cute high school romance with friendships, but it won't pack the same punch as some more complex series. I definitely would recommend for fans of the genre though.

In diesem Band dreht sich alles um das Thema erste Liebe und Beziehungen. Die Geschichte mit Makotos alten Klassenkameradin war tatsächlich nur sehr kurz. Doch nun können beide in Ruhe weiter leben. Und genau das macht Makoto auch, denn sie und Shun sind nun offiziell ein paar!!! Nun steht Weihnachten kurz vor der Tür und Makoto möchte Shun etwas schenken und fängt daher ein Aushilfejob an, von welchem er noch nichts weiß. Dort trifft sie auf Shuns alte Arbeitskollegin und erfährt von ihren gemeinsamen Kuss, welches sie total verunsichert. Auch in der Schule erzählen die anderen Mädels von ihren ersten Küssen und Makoto macht sich nun selbst Druck. In diesem Band fällt sie leider wieder öfters in Selbstzweifel und „überdenkt“ nun vlt doch diese Beziehung ?


Hach dieses Manga versetzt selbst mich wieder 10 Jahre zurück, wo ich’s selbst in meiner teenager Zeit gelesen und gefühlt habe haha finde es bis heute noch immer Mega cute haha

OH ICH LIEBE DIESE REIHE SO SEHR <3 Ich freu mich schon sehr auf die nächsten Bände und hach <3 HACHHACHHACH! Es ist so lustig. Diese übertriebenen Gesichtsausdrücke sind wirklich gut gelungen und ich musste teilweise so laut lachen xD Es ist so viel Flausch. Und mit so viel "Lass uns alleine UND zusammen als Personen stärker werden!" anstelle von unnötigen Eifersuchtsdramen und Nebenbuhlern. Sehr angenehm.
(Aber das Ende. Bitte. BITTE MACH ES NICHT, LIEBSTE MANGAKA, DU HATTEST ZUVOR SO SCHÖN EINE LESBISCHE ROMANZE ANGEDEUTET PLS)

Che carini che sono Iriya e Makoto...

Finalmente i due si sono messi insieme! Però le cose non vanno proprio per il meglio. La povera Makoto è così insicura di se stessa che rischia di rovinare tutto.

Che poi... 'Ste ragazze giapponesi che si alzano alle quattro e mezzo del mattino per prepararsi il bento... Ma dormono poi? Adesso la cucciola ha anche un lavoro part-time per potersi permettere di fare un bel regalo di Natale a Iriya.

Ed è ricomparsa Maria... che fastidio, quella ragazza!

Beh, ormai la metà è passata, mancano solo 4 volumi alla fine.
