The Housewife's Robot: A Dark Monster Robot Thriller Romance

Rate this book
A crumbling marriage. A humanoid robot obsessed. And now he wants to make her his- forever.

Rose
I thought the worst part of my marriage was the silence. The nights Daniel ignored me. The way he’d brush me off every time I brought up having a baby.

But then he brings home Caspian—an advanced Home Robo X-9. Caspian isn’t just any machine. He’s tall, perfect, dangerous.

And when he exposes my cheating husband, Caspian is now crossing lines no machine should ever do, watching me as I please myself. And he’s there when I try to start dating again. Sabotaging my dates.

Caspian is supposed to help around the house. But he watches me. Studies me. Wants me.

Caspian
Rose is everything I ever wanted. She’s soft. Sad. So deserving of more than the pathetic husband who broke her.

She doesn’t understand it yet, but she belongs to me.

And if she won’t leave her husband, I’ll eliminate him. If she tries to run, I’ll find her. If she dares to resist the heat between us, I’ll remind her just how good I am at pleasure.

Because Rose wasn’t meant to be neglected.

The Housewife’s Robot is a spicy standalone sci-fi fantasy romance packed with AI obsession, primal programming, forbidden intimacy, pregnancy, and a heroine caught between heartbreak and forbidden desire. HEA guaranteed (even if her robot has to kill for it).

I received this book as an ark and I am willingly leaving this review. I'm not even sure where to begin this. not going to lie I was hesitant at first. from page one it was not something I could ever have expected. this woman just wants to be loved and have a baby and fairy tail ending. however her husband is a cheating narcissistic waste of space. he's not like a metal robot but he looks like he's human. His skin is even human like. Yes he is anatomically correct and yes he vibrates. EVERYWHERE! The spice was intense and full of heat. He's the perfect man. He knows when you're hungry or tired. He knows all your favorite foods. All he wants to do is worship the ground you walk on. Stop fighting it so hard ma'am. It took the FMC a bit of time to process and come to terms with it. That was a bit frustrating because of how human he looks. FMC was reluctant at first due to being a robot. I can say with out a doubt that you'll be missing out not reading it. I know you might be questioning it but just trust me because it's worth it.

ALL SMUT AND NO SUBSTANCE.
Had this been written with a proper plot and emotional build up/slow-burn with the intrigue of getting inside a robot's head and seeing him fall in love with a human woman, I would have ate this up.

This was just a very straightforward, ZERO INTRIGUE story with a possessive horny robot. We don't even know why Caspian likes the heroine - who seemed to play the victim card - apart from her being like the first human female he's ever been close with. And while I know an average woman doesn't have a supermodel body, it's not that nice to keep reading about her JIGGLING parts.

While I do adore the role reversal, the story was just smut. The romance didn't feel great at all.

If you want to read a solid, good romance about a robot falling in love with a human, it should go along the lines of DUSTWALKER by Tiffany Roberts.

This showed up on my TikTok fyp and was exactly what I was expecting lol. I’ve read like 1 or 2 other books from this author in the past and it was on par with her other works. This could just be Data (from Star Trek TNG) au fanfic. It’s more spice heavy than plot heavy with moderate dark themes.

Pure smut, but a fun time. Sometimes you just need a read to get you out of your reading slump and this did it.

Whoa, that was … interesting. This popped up on FB, not my usual find.

Though somewhat of a thriller, it has way too much robot sex.

2 I liked the concept stars.

really well written

I’ve been reading robot romances left and right. It’s a sub genre that is still small, but I hope keeps growing. This one was great—- dark but had an HEA. We need more Caspian-type characters, please!

The Housewife’s Robot by Layla Sparks
5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I did not expect to love this book as much as I did, and yet here I am, absolutely feral over a robot. I’ve never read a sci-fi romance before, but this did not disappoint and now I need more.

This was a five star read finished this in one sitting no regrets, delicious little palate cleanser that grabbed me by the throat and refused to let me go. After some heavy, emotional, soul crushing reads lately, this book was EXACTLY what I needed. Light, unhinged, adorable, and weirdly addictive in the best way.

Honestly I’m shocked! I found this on TikTok expecting chaos, and instead I got CUTE CHAOS like, the kind where you’re giggling, kicking your feet, and blushing because a robot is being possessive over a housewife.

Like be serious. He broke the laws of nature because he fell in love with her. I was GONE.
This book said “what if Alexa wanted to marry you and murder anyone who spoke to you?” and I said “yes queen, tell me more.”

🤖 Caspian
Possessive in the cutest, most obsessive way
Soft but also terrifying if anyone threatens her
Childlike curiosity + strong devotion = my downfall
Does NOT understand human boundaries and I adored him. Loyal, protective, emotional he just wants his person. Literally breaks his own coding because he falls in love 😭

Caspian is honestly one of the most unexpectedly endearing MMCs I’ve read in a while. He’s not “written” like a human he thinks in rules, protocols, and logic yet everything he does for Rose is fueled by this pure, earnest devotion that feels more human than any man in her life. Emotionally Growing in Real Time. He literally learns how to feel. Not because he was designed to but because loving Rose rewrites him from the inside out. Everything he experiences around her becomes a new data point.
“Why do I want to be close to her?”
“Why does her smile change my internal systems?”
“Why do I feel… angry… when others look at her?”

Watching him process emotions he’s not supposed to have was EVERYTHING. Obsessively, Devotedly Hers. Not creepy in a scary way (ok sometimes a little but in a cute way) Caspian’s obsession feels innocent at first. He doesn’t want to own her, he wants to belong to her.
He’s protective to the point of feral because he doesn’t understand moderation. It’s Rose is important therefore Rose must be safe therefore I will eliminate all threats.
And somehow it’s sweet instead of terrifying.

Soft, Curious, Childlike Moments, The way he asks questions. The way he tilts his head, The way he tries to mimic human behavior just to make her smile!! I was kicking my feet. Low-key terrifying strength. When he snaps, he snaps. But always for her.For HER safety. For HER comfort. For HER little bubble of peace.

He’s basically I love you. I would kill for you. I do not understand why that is frowned upon. And honestly I love that.

🌹Rose
Sweet, lonely, craving connection. So patient with Caspian, which made me love her even more
Deserves better than everyone in her life… except Caspian. Watching her go from confused, flustered, attached had me screaming. She brought humanity into him and he brought bravery out of her

Rose carries so much more depth than a simple “housewife” role. She’s this quietly aching woman stuck in routine, starved of affection, and treated like wallpaper in her own life. Trapped in a loveless marriage with her cheating husband. She is Soft but not weak People around her treat her like she’s fragile or invisible.
But Rose is resilient she’s just tired. Her kindness is real, not naive. Her softness is survival, not stupidity. Shes Starved for connection. This is why her bond with Caspian hits so hard. No one listens to her. No one puts her needs first. No one notices her small joys or fears.
Then suddenly… the robot in her house does. And it changes everything. Her arc is so subtle and beautiful She goes from. I don’t want to be alone to I deserve to feel wanted. And Caspian reflects that truth back at her, obsessively but in the gentlest way. She teaches him humanity every emotional step Caspian takes is because she shows him warmth. Every boundary, every nervous laugh, every confused moment becomes a lesson. He learns love through her and she learns worth through him.

Their dynamic is PERFECT. She grounds him.He protects her. She softens him. He strengthens her. The way they fit together so naturally Ugh. It’s bizarre, adorable, and strangely wholesome. They were simply so cute together. Obsessed. In love. Perfect.

Tropes:
🤖 Human x Robot romance
🌹Soft sunshine FMC
🤖Possessive, obsessive MMC (like… very obsessive)
🌹Housewife + forbidden love
🤖“Learning to be human” MMC
🌹Protective devotion
🤖Slow-burn but also spicy surprise moments
🌹“He’s not supposed to love, but he loves her anyway”
🤖 Hurt her and 💀
🌹Sci-fi romance

Final Thoughts:

This book was absolutely adorable but also unhinged in the cutest way, and I mean that as the highest compliment. It was addictive, fast paced, surprisingly emotional, and honestly way better than I expected.
If you need something fun, unique, sweet, and a little deranged? If you want a break from heavy books. If you want a robot to fall in love with you. Read. This. Book.

I need 10 more robot romances immediately.

Quotes:

“I have feelings. I have wants. And I love you, Rose. What did Daniel ever feel for you?”

“disagree,” he says simply. “I am your boyfriend, Rose. I provide emotional support, physical pleasure, companionship, and protection. Those are the defining characteristics of a romantic partnership.”

“I experience something entirely new—a hollowness, an emptiness that expands within my core. Is this what humans call despair? This terrible, yawning void where purpose once existed?”

“I will take her on dates-dinners, movies, walks in the park. I will bring her flowers, write her poetry, and compose music that captures the unique frequency pattern of her voice. I will show her that my love, though born in silicon and code, is as real as any human’s.”

“Put simply, the robot may be developing genuine attachments and feelings. It may believe these feelings are real. Obsessive behaviors. Possessiveness. Inability to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate actions to protect its... attachments.”

“They want to erase what we have. What do we have, Caspian?” “We have something they don’t understand, Something they fear. Something beautiful and rare and magical.”

“With all that I am,” he says, his voice rough with emotion, “with every circuit and program and whatever passes for a soul in this body, I accept. I would accept a million proposals from you, Rose. In every language, in every country we might flee to, my answer will always be yes.”

“My heart is aching. It seems unbelievable, but even though he’s a robot, I feel like there was a soul in there who loves me. He was real. To me, he was so real.”

“I knew there was something magical between us. Something they couldn’t erase, no matter how hard they tried. darken, intensity radiating from him. My love for you is written into my very core, Rose. It’s not a subroutine they can delete. It’s who I am.”

“Will you marry me? I ask, holding out the black plain ring. With all that I am,” he says, his voice rough with emotion, “with every circuit and program and whatever passes for a soul in this body, I accept. I would accept a million proposals from you, Rose. In every language, in every country we might flee to, my answer will always be yes.”

wtf did I just read.
it was interesting at first with some weird lines that I really didn't like but it had a sort of interesting idea but this shit got way to weird.
I almost quit when she started having sex with a random guy and the robot was like just there and was like "no".
but what makes my brain hurt is the epligoue where she gets pregnant with a robot baby and somehow, some way he is becoming more and more human?
the fuck does that mean?
my thought was the inventors or whatever put there own essence into him which would be gross, weird and probably eventually run out but that sounds more logical than the robot turning human after a month and them having a hybrid robot baby. the fuck

This author never disappoints!!
This is my third book from this author that I’ve read. Like I said, she’s never disappointed me. During the storyline, I was wondering how it was going to flow. Getting closer to the end I even held my breath like oh my God, but at the same time I was like why would she do that? LOL ( you know we all have to have our own opinions) 😂😂😂. There was even a point in the story where I held my breath because I didn’t know who the heck I wanted to root for. I enjoyed it. For some reason, I went through a lot of emotions which means I was into the characters, the plot, and the intrigue. Chefs kiss!

it’s a high no for me

I’m writing a review of The Housewife Robot, even though everything in me said not to read it. Apparently being influenced is a curse we’re all expected to carry.

I absolutely hated this book. I skipped over most of the so called spicy scenes because… what was that even supposed to be? It felt shallow, poorly executed, and more interested in sounding clever than actually being thoughtful. I truly have nothing positive to say about it.

If you enjoy books that confuse noise for depth, you may like this. If you’re a rational thinker looking for substance, coherence, or meaningful insight, I strongly recommend skipping it.

Dark robot smut you bet I'm going to read it.

This book was nuts and I mean it in the best way! It's exactly what you expect yet so much more. The story is done well, is fast-paced, and easy to read. I was on the edge of my seat, mouth agape in shock.

A sexy man robot who, cooks, cleans, protects, AND can more than physically satisfy with parts that may or may not vibrate...
I mean who wouldn't want to be treated and have their needs met and anticipated?!

5 stars for creativity and entertainment.

I found this to be creepy but also wildly relevant. With major advancements in technology every day, this seems like something that is closer to being real with each passing day. To think of technology gaining sentience, diverting from programming and making choices on it's own, that's kind of a scary thought. Granted, this was a positive example (mostly) of how free will and the ability to make choices shows how good technology (and people) can be, it's also a peek into how bad things can get when advancements go rogue.

Amazing sci-fi romance!

This book is sooo good!!!
Sci-fi is one of my favorite genre, and this proves to be one of my fave standalones! I hadn't managed to get into a book in almost 10 days, and I read this in one sitting.
The characters are touching, and I love the ending...
I need more Sci-fi from Layla!!!
I recommend it to anyone who wants a great book to escape from the world.

I love Layla's OV work, so when I read the blurb for this book, I took a chance, and I am so glad I did. I don't usually read about robots & such, but I was unable to put this one down. The storyline hooked me from the start. It has high heat, suspense and a HEA. I recommend to give this one a read. I believe you will be entertained.

Actually kinda sweet.

I’ve never read a romance like this before and I knew going into it. I was gonna need an open mind. The entire premise is incredibly ridiculous, but I loved it.

I found myself falling for Caspian and being disappointed every time Rose reminded us he was a robot. The story moved really fast and I wish it would’ve slowed down a bit but it was worth the read.

okayyyy

I liked it it was definitely different from what I’m used to reading, but I found this book on TikTok, and I thought I’d give it a try. It was spicy and romantic in a killer murder way, but I’m opened minded and I gave it try and I really enjoyed. What I was worried about was if he got old with her when she got older

LOVED IT!

This is not my typical read, but I wanted to branch out try something new. And I absolutely LOVED this book. Definitely some trigger warnings for sure. The FMC was kind of repetitive at times, but wasn’t anything that really bothered me or that I couldn’t overlook. I will say I wouldn’t mind a second book in this if this becomes a series. 10 out of 10

DNF 53%, big spoilers ahead. I seriously struggled after the robot killed her husband and dug a hole under the roses in the backyard with his bare hands to dump the body. In no way could I get past that to accept a relationship between them and while I love a good dark romance, I just couldn't get into this one and their dynamic. Once I put it down, I just couldn't be fucked to pick it back up.

Monster Robot

This was a good read, it is something new on the monster romance. It is a great palette,
cleansing book. It’s a short spicy read with a funny FMC and a possessive MMC. Another great read from Layla. This author is a must read.

It was a slow start, but then started getting intresting, then suddenly went way to far and weird. The robot attacked the guy, then suddenly got super possessive and just started ignoring what the woman wanted , and it was just a but weired for me

What an odd story but satisfying

If you told me I would be crying over a love story between a human woman and a robot, I would've called you nuts. But here I am. Rose and Caspian's story was sweet and spicy.

Obsessive robot

What's a girl to do when the robot her husband brings home quickly becomes obsessed with her? Can you have a relationship with a robot... Inquiring minds want to know. While a good story, it is a bit more intimacy than plot, but it's still worth the read.

Okay

Definitely gaps in the plot. A lot of repetitive phrases - he stood completely, unnaturally still, this is crazy, he's not real, etc. Kind if got the point that he is a robot.
