This couple Bodhi and Camreigh (call her 'Cam' at your peril) acted skittish toward each other. They started out as all business. She, who hated/ was ignorant about sports, had a 6 week writing assignment for her sports mag (also on-line) employer to follow the hero in his physical rehab and to charity events. A pro athlete would be hard-pressed to have time for this many charities. The H+h each carried emotional baggage. Bodhi helping the foster kid detracted from the romance. I'm sure this aspect meant to prove to readers he had a good heart.
Cam's dream journalism job: covering politics, which she naively thought would not involve her relocating. The hero was a good guy, but too aloof and brooding at times.
Camreigh Moore is an aspiring journalist , who wants to a make a name for herself and write articles that will change the world. Currently , she is an editor for a sports magazine, Camreigh dislikes sports and is not a fan of the game nor the players. Bodhi Abrams is a hockey star, currently nursing an injured shoulder. In order to get her big break, Cammie must follow him and document his recovery. Something she is not thrilled about but being a professional she goes into this assignment with 100% Cammie . Bodhi doesn’t do relationships , nor does anyone know the real Bodhi, how long can he keep certain parts of his life hidden ?
Written in true Stephanie Nichole style, she always has you laughing and crying, yelling at the characters and yet, there you are the reader and the cheerleader!!!
This is Rhys and Adair’s love story. He’s a professional athlete, she’s a journalist with the hope to get her dream job as political journalist someday, while working as sports magazine editor and fact checker. She gets assigned to write a series of articles on him in order to prove herself as journalist and get a chance at her dream job. She takes on the challenge, makes an excellent job and learns about herself in the process. He also learns through the process of being shadowed by her. They go through rough patches, but get a HEA.
I have to say I really liked Beckham and keep hoping he’ll get his own book!
“ Unless I fall down, hit my head, and get amnesia, I’m pretty sure I won’t be falling for Rhys or any other athlete anytime soon.”
Adair knows nothing about sports, even though she’s a sports editor, but fact checking is easier for her than learning sports. So when she is assigned to write six weeks worth of article on superstar hockey player Rhys is not something she wants to do, but ultimately made lead to her dream job.
Rhys Is nothing like the stereotypical “jock”. He has more layers to him than anyone knows.
Can both Adair and Rhys open up enough, or will they walk away ?
This author loves to write, you can feel her heart and soul on every page !!!
H E double hockey sticks yes! This book is great. Fans of hockey romance, this is the book you've been waiting for. This is the story of Camreigh and Bodhi. They are total opposites. Camreigh is a journalist who is stubborn and could care less about sports. She actually has a distaste for jocks because of her past. Bodhi's whole world is hockey. He needs to get back on that ice. Neither one of them is stoked about her assignment to follow him around to his charity events while he recovers. Soon they discover what they thought about each other is not right at all. And they start to develop feelings. But they are both fighting it so hard that they might destroy a good thing. There were so many moments in this story that gripped my heart and held it. Also this story brings to light a few issues that need to be addressed in today's world. The only down side is that Bodhi Abrahms isn't real. Our world could use a good man like him. Get ready to become obsessed with Bodhi and Camreigh. I feel like I know them personally. This is a great story that will make you swoon, want to scream in frustration and also inspire you in your own life.
Rhys and Adair both had a few things to work through. And they both had valid reasons for their current feelings about certain subjects. She’s been tormented by hers, while Rhys has also, but he doesn’t share. At all. And his reaction to being pressed to please finally share is to shut down and deliberately hurt the one he’s falling for. But with some divine intervention by way of family and friends, maybe these two can put it all out in the open so they can support each other when weakness or worry calls next time.
While this is a story about an athlete and the woman who appears to be his complete opposite, it was much more than that. It’s about recovery, healing, how to deal, and how to truly love. Building more than anticipation for the adult times made for an enjoyable ride, as did the reasons behind all of Rhys’s actions. And Adair’s. So these two brought some folks along that I’d like to see more of, as well as the truth that comes with any past trauma and how to maybe learn to live with it.
A Hockey Theme Romance A+ Thank you author Stephanie Nichole for writing Thin Ice which is Book two of the Legacy Series. The two people at odds in this storyline are Sports Journalist Camreigh and Hockey Player, Bodhi. Camreigh knows nothing about hockey as she had dreams when she graduated top of her class to land a job covering politics for a national newspaper. Unsuccessful, she took an editing job at Goal a national sports online magazine that was very popular. She is being forced to follow around for six weeks injured hockey player, Bodhi and write about him every week. The problem? She knows nothing about hockey. Bodhi has secrets and a certain type of woman he dates. He doesn’t want to be followed around. So then why does he fall for Camreigh? Talk about opposites attract! I really liked how Ms Nichole put this story together. It flowed beautifully from chapter to chapter, introducing different characters at pivotal points without overwhelming the plot. Being a huge hockey fan (Detroit Red Wings) I was happy to see Camreigh embrace hockey As a result I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. Peace. Rhys and Adair are two characters that are so different that when they meet you think they will be like oil and water. Rhys is a professional hockey player and on paper seems like a typical playboy. Adair is an editor and fact checker at a sports magazine even though she would prefer being a political journalist. One assignment pulls them together and the rest is history as one would say. So that’s all I’m giving away about the book because if you like hockey romance you should read this book. I personally love hockey romances I don’t know if it’s the fact that these men are supposed to be all big and bad because of their career choice and actually end up being these amazingly sweet people who would do anything for the one they love. But anyway this hockey romance is up there with any other I have read Rhys is an amazing man and watching them fall for each other is just so sweet. Even though it says it took me almost a week to read this book it’s not true I binged this whole thing in two settings (just had a few busy days in between) because I had to know more. This book does have a HEA. I was selected as an ARC reader for this book and I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review her book.
So so cute! I normally don’t steer toward closed door romances but I am so glad I gave this one a chance. The story centers on Rhys and Adair. She is a journalist getting a chance to impress her boss and takes on following hockey star Rhys as he recovers from a serious injury. I loved that she knew nothing about sports and but also stereotyped all athletes as cocky, ego centric jocks. I also loved that Rhys was a more complex man than I expected. He has a really sweet demeanor and the more Adair scratches the surface the more she learns how she was wrong. It’s an easy to read book. The pacing is wonderful. I found the character development to be surprisingly good for closed door romance. I found it was easy to be engaged with these two characters. And honestly how sweet the story was made it such an easy book to read!
Stereo types about jocks are pretty much a sure thing. Some live up to those Stereo types but then you have those like Rhys Owens. I adored this roller coaster ride between him and Adair. She thought he was the exact definition of most high school jocks. Her book smarts and his charisma were perfectly matched. Throw in a big brother program, a best friend, and a dog named bear. Needless to say the dreams you want aren't always the ones you need.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.

Is getting her dream job worth putting up with Bodhi Abrams (jock extraordinare) for six weeks? Will Bodhi prove Camreigh is right about jocks? Or prove there’s more to him than hockey? For her dream job she’s willing to find out.

Sports romance is not my preferred genre to read, but I picked this one up and got completely sucked into the story. I loved Cammie and Bohdi's story. It's not at all stereotypical, he's not conceited or arrogant, she's not a sport groupie and sort of fell into the sport world by accident. It's a sweet read, full of emotion and beautifully written.
I truly enjoyed Bodhi and Camreigh’s story. They’re two apparent opposites in life: he’s a jock and she can’t stand them; she’s a woman made for relationships and he avoids those at all costs. But once they’re forced together to chronicle Bodhi’s comeback after a painful injury and his rehabilitation post-surgery, they find that they’re not as incompatible as they first believed. Bodhi proves to be a private man (for good reason) full of heart who uses his money, influence, and self to help those less fortunate, but can he open up just a little to show Camreigh that she’s worthy of his heart AND trust? Or will their life experiences keep them apart? Their road from unwilling cohorts to friends to HEA isn’t an easy one, but the ride is one not to be missed.
This was an amazing easy read, it’s was fun, and the banter is amazing, I little Drama ofc. I thought true the book that things went so fast, but it was just because it’s was a fun and the pages just flew.
And it actually has a lot of sport ( hockey ) not just that Rhys played, but training and games.
Rhys and Adair are the cutest couple. This book is a nice palette cleanser. Cute soft romance. I love how the author pulled in serious life problems like domestic violence and cancer. I liked how the progression of the characters went. While it was a short book and obviously some things need to be skipped over, the development pace was good.
Stephanie has done it again with another amazing book. I loved the characters and it felt real. I got hooked from the beginning and read it in one sitting. I love that it had some hockey but focused more on the player and charities.
Camreigh is a writer who doesn’t like sports or jocks. When given an opportunity to write a series about local hockey star Bohdi, she realizes all jocks aren’t bad. This was a sweet story of how these two became friends and then more despite personal battles slowing their growing relationship.
Opposites attract and love conquers all!! These two beautifully written characters are opposites but they seem to have a pull for eachother. They both have things to overcome and heal from as they navigate life together and apart but find their way. This series is great. I read this in a day and I can't wait to read more.
Stephanie Nichole scores with THIN ICE. In this story, Journalist Camreigh Moore is given an opportunity of a lifetime. She has been assigned an exclusive to follow the recovery of NHL star Bodhi Abrams. The problem, she hates sports and jocks. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Stephanie Nichole does a nice job with her plot and character development. Camreigh and Bodhi are likeable characters. Camreigh wants to cause a change through her writing, and Bodhi is involved in numerous charitable organizations. Neither one of them wants the series of articles. They are both unexpectedly surprised by the other person. There are some good life lessons in this story.
This is the first book that I have read by Stephanie Nichole. I enjoyed her writing style. I would read books by her in the future. THIN ICE is part of the multi author Legacy series. I have not read book one, A SHOT AT LOVE by M.A. Lee. I recommend THIN ICE book to people who enjoy contemporary sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is yet another incredible novel by Stephanie. I love the story around these two and how it focuses more on them as people ans not just hocky. It takes you through their every emotion and paints the scene perfectly. I loved every minute of it.!!
Rhys is a professional hockey player, who at first sight, is seen as the playboy rich asshole. When Adair is assigned a story about Rhys, his injury, his recovery and his charity work, she gets to know and witness the real Rhys – the man who hides himself from the world. Rhys is caring, attentive, loyal, with a heart of gold and dedicates a lot of his time and money helping several charities, but keeps his personal life as private as he can, not letting anyone know about his past. Adair and Rhys, even if they appear to be complete opposites, start to feel extremely attracted to one another, but try and fight it as best as they can. Adair feel likes she doesn’t belong in his world and can never be enough and Rhys is haunted by his past and doesn’t want to hurt her. A love story that tells you how two broken and lost souls can find each other and help heal a wounded and scarred heart if you decide to open up and truly let go. Thin Ice is a pure romance with real life problems. Thank you for the ARC.
Adair is a journalist who has a very strong aversion to jocks/athletes. When she’s assigned to follow and document Rhy’s recovery from surgery back to ice, she’s clearly not happy, but has a goal attached, so gets to it…. She knows absolutely nothing about sport, and does not care to. So, of course she's the likely choice....
Rhys…. a player on and off the ice, is intrigued. He shows sweet tendencies, and with his big focus on charities, it’s clear that he’s motivated and is overall, a nice guy.
Then… the fake relationship because of her high school bully. And it ended up being more links between three of them? Tension kept building….
Overall, the humour was on point.. I mean “Touchdown”??? Absolute gold! So much second-hand embarrassment for Adair throughout this story made me giggle so much.
This story includes: Micommunivation Self-worth issues Bad decisions (lots of them). I’m looking at you Rhys!!! Really?? Third act breakup - ugh, this one frustrated me so bad!
Quite a good read. I devoured it, and thoroughly enjoyed!
Camleigh wants to be a political reporter, but she's proofing and fact-checking for a sports publication for the time being. Just one problem - she hates sports, and hates jocks even more. A jock in her past made her life a living hell. She gets a break - sort of - when she's assigned to follow an injured hockey player on his road to recovery. Bodhi is gorgeous, and a player. But there's a log more to him than that - he's less concerned about his personal image, and more concerned about the charities he works with. And there's something about Camleigh that sparks his interest, even though she's no his "type". This book was such a pleasure to read - it had a nice flow, and the characters were perfect together even though they're complete opposites. This is the first book I've read from this author, and I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Really loved Bohdi and Camreigh. She wants to be a political writer but out of college the only job she could get is at a sports paper. When her boss gives her the assignment of writing a story about a hockey player she doesn’t want to do it. She hates sports. But as her company is looking to expand and her boss needs her to write so he can recommend her for a new job she reluctantly agrees. Bohdi keeps his private life private. He doesn’t know that she is going to be following him around until she shows up. Great character build up and I loved the two together. Look forward to more from this series and author

Thin Ice is the encore instalment of the Legacy Series. This story follows Bohdi and Camreigh. Camreigh is a Sports Journalist and Bohdi is a Hockey Player. Both are in many ways at opposite and opposing sides. Camreigh knows nothing about hockey as she had dreams when she graduated top of her class to land a job covering politics for a national newspaper but instead when that didn’t work out took an editing job at Goal a national sports online magazine that was very popular. Unhappy as she is forced to follow Bohdi and write about him weekly. It’s difficult as she know nothing about hockey. Bohdi doesn’t want to be followed around so both are not happy with the other until .....

Great story! I can't wait to see where this series goes. Stephanie Nichole is so versatile in her writing and how she goes from one genre to another.
Rhys is a hockey player on the sidelines waiting to heal from an injury that resulted in surgery. Adair has always wanted to be a political journalist, but first she'll need to take on an assignment that she never wanted, a sports story series!
I loved this story, read it in one day! Love isn't easy, it doesn't happen easily, or in the perfect way. Watching these two characters grow together and apart was a pleasure to read. We see parts of both of them that have been hidden and when revealed, show all things are possible. Great supporting cast of characters too bring this story to life.
This is the first in a new series, and this is Rhys and Adair’s story. Rhys had an injury which had taken him out of the game for most of the season, and now after surgery, he is determined to prove himself with his comeback. Adair is an aspiring political journalist, who is working for a sports magazine, when she dislikes the sport and jocks. An assignment gives Adair the chance to prove herself worthy of her dream job. The sparks fly between Rhys and Adair, and the chemistry is intense and undeniable. This is a well written story which is a sweet romance, with emotions, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner.
