My biggest rival is the father of my child. He just doesn’t know it yet.
Sleeping with my family’s enemy wasn’t planned. Oops. Too late.
It was a one-night stand in Costa Rica, and names were the last thing we wanted to exchange. What can I say? The man was hot as sin.
Blue-sky eyes. Broad, athletic shoulders. A smile that just about did me in.
I came home with more than his cowboy hat as a souvenir.
Four years later, that sweet memento calls me Mommy.
I’m a busy single mom helping to run the Dover empire. The last thing I need is a vacation fling showing up wearing the one name on the back of his baseball jersey that’s forbidden by my family. Greene.
Annoyingly arrogant. Infuriatingly irritating. A smirk on his stupidly handsome face.
Just my luck when I need to break the news, he’s my son’s father.
He came to play baseball, not be a dad, so I have no intention of getting me and our son caught up in his game. But even the strongest walls have faults, and when we start spending time together, mine begin to crumble.
Is the universe giving us a second chance or are we caught up in a small-town frenzy?
Small Town Frenzy is a spicy, sports, rivals to lovers, surprise child, cowboy, small town romance where he falls first and hard. This hometown hero book is a complete stand-alone.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, writes character driven, heart-racing suspense, and swoony romances that will leave you glued to the page. With stories ranging from witty beach reads to heart wrenching and heart healing, her stories are highly regarded as emotional, relatable, and captivating.
Her books are more than escapes for the voracious readers of today. They are journeys of the heart that always come with a happily ever after reward at the end.
the setup… Four years ago, Cricket Dover was celebrating on Jaco Beach in Costa Rica when Griffin Greene walked up to her and that was it. They had a steamy one night stand, never exchanging names but he left behind his beloved cowboy hat…and something else. Move forward to present day and who walks onto the Dover Armadillo’s baseball field where Cricket is the operations manager…the man from Costa Rica. He’s a former professional baseball player, there to participate as a volunteer player for her fundraiser. Does he recognize her and she him? And, he’s one of those Greenes from Peachtree Pass, her family’s rival. How does she tell her son Jake (and him) that Daddy’s come home?
the heart of the story… The secret about Cricket’s son could have become a tiresome, drawn out communications drama and thank goodness this isn’t that story. Her dilemma was all about timing, not keeping the secret. She wanted to protect her son and her custody before introducing Griffin into the picture. There was so much depth here as both reacquainted themselves with each other and found that one night of passion wasn’t a fluke.
the narration… Pairing Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood felt like kismet as they both have gorgeous voice tones and inhabited their characters so nicely. I enjoyed their storytelling.
the bottom line… I have a soft spot for these type stories, especially when they are well crafted. I really liked Cricket and Griffin, individually and as a couple. The extended Greene family adds even more layers to the story as these two navigated their way to a relationship born from one night and the revelation about three-year old Jake. Yes, a little sappy but just what I was hoping to experience without a lot of drama and lots of family love.
This whole series has been such a fun treat to read, but I actually think this one has to be my favorite!
This is going to be super specific, but the trope where there’s an surprise pregnancy but something happens and the dad doesn’t find out for some time, but then they reunite and have the most heartwarming reunion just hits so good.
Chapter 33 had me literally crying.
Thank you so much to Hambright PR for the e-ARC! ♥️
The last book in the Peachtree Pass series did not disappoint!
Four years ago, Cricket had a one-night stand in Costa Rica that she thought would stay in the past until she came home with a souvenir that changed her life forever: her son. She’s built a steady life for them in her small hometown, but everything flips upside down when she runs into him again. Griffin Greene, the man she never expected to see again, and the last person she wanted to, considering their families are bitter rivals.
From the moment they reconnect, sparks fly. The chemistry is undeniable, the banter is sharp, and the emotion runs deep as they navigate second chances, family expectations, and the reality of the son he never knew about. Griffin was swoon worthy and patient in all the right ways, while Cricket’s strength and vulnerability made her so easy to root for.
This was such a heartfelt small-town romance filled with warmth, humor, and spice. SL Scott perfectly captured that sweet mix of tension and tenderness, making this an unforgettable finale. She’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, this one truly had all the feels. Thanks to Hambright PR for the gifted ARC.
A hot one night stand with a nameless stranger in Costa Rica had Cricket Dover coming home with more than just his cowboy hat as a souvenir.
Cricket has spent the last four years raising her son alone and helping run the family business, the last thing she expects is to come face to face with the handsome stranger once again.
Worst of all, he’s a member of her family’s long standing rivals—The Greene’s.
Things quickly heat up between Cricket and Griffin once they reconnect, and I loved how easily he accepted being a father and didn’t have any animosity towards Cricket about it. They made such a cute family, and their story was so sweet!
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧: 🍇 baseball playing cowboy 🍇 rival families 🍇 single mom/surprise child 🍇 second chance 🍇 he falls first
This is the third book in this impressive series, and this is Cricket and Griffin’s story. When Crickett has a 1-night stand in Costa Rica, with no names exchanged, she heads home, but there are consequences. Now 4-years later Crickett is a busy single mom and helping to run the Dover empire, when Griffin shows up wearing the one name on the back of his baseball jersey that is forbidden by her family. Greene. How will Griffing react to finding out he is a dad? This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, tension, surprises, humour, witty banter, rivals / lovers, soulmates, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and heartfelt, small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Cricket doesn't expect to see Griffin again so when she does, she is thrown. Four years ago, the two shared an unforgettable night which resulted in a son, of which Griffin has no idea about. How will he react to the news, especially considering the two families have had such a long standing feud?
I've loved the books in this series and this installment once again, was fantastic. The chemistry between the two characters was evident from the start and the way they united against their families to keep their son safe was commendable. I really enjoyed this story and love the way the author writes. If you haven't picked up a book by her yet, you don't know what you're missing!
I loved this story SO MUCH! I can’t believe I almost missed out on it! It’s super hard for me to play “catch up” with series that I adore (which this is one of them) and the opportunity to listen and read along to this story almost passed me by! I got my copies just a few days before releasing last week, but I jumped on it ASAP and here I am! You guys … this is one of those series that just washes over you and brightens you from beginning to end. Don’t get me wrong, they have their ”moments”, but the vibe is sunshine and brightness. Feel me? I mean look at these covers! Amirite?!
🎙️Okay, lets chat specifically about Small Town Frenzy! First, let me say that 🎤Savannah Peachwood & Tor Thom🎤 slayed their performances! Savannah captured Cricket’s spirit perfectly and Tor was a perfect Griffin! They both have very versatile voices and really captured every nuance this story had to offer. It was an 👏👏excellent👏👏 listening experience!!
There’s a lot of love and hope between the pages of this story. It’s a feeling that carries thru every circumstance. As you can read from the blurb, there’s going to be conflict because of course there’s a family feud (lol) but also a little gift from Griffin Cricket’s “meet-cute” years before. The thing is, none of it was really treated as “conflict” or overly dramatized or even dragged out throughout the story. The “gift” is a tricky situation that needed delicate handling for all parties involved and my impression from the story was that SL Scott treated it all with dignity and the right amount of pacing. She didn’t make it a point on contention (for lack of a better term) but rather gave the circumstance time to “breath” and unfold organically. This is one of the main reasons SL Scott is fast becoming one of my favorite go-to authors.
This story was a perfect mix of smalltown shenanigans, swoony feels, excellent banter and sexy chemistry! If you love your romance fiction relatable and realistic with characters that mirror every day real life, this story and SL Scott is for you!
I was looking forward to this book, and it was definitely a nice ending to the series. We finally get to know more about Griffen, who moved away before the start of the first book. There was just enough info about him to peak my interest.
I loved how the story started. When Cricket and Griffin met, definitely a spicy first meeting. But it put the story in motion and in my opinion, was a great hook for the readers.
Now, I’m going to tell everyone interested in this book that if you enjoy audiobooks, I highly recommend this one!! Tor Thom’s voice was so drool worthy…I couldn’t do anything but stop and listen when his chapters started. I could literally listen to him forever. Savannah Peachwood did a great job with Cricket’s character as well. I thought the vibes were there and they definitely did well together.
If you’re a sucker for a single parent romance, this one is a good one to look into. Cricket is a single mom, she has. 3 year of son, and you get all the small town vibes in this book. Plus, if you read the other two books in this series you get all those characters in this one as well. I love it!
The way I loved this book! This was such a heart felt small town romance that was filled with of emotions, banter and spice. The writing was so engaging and just draws you into all the emotions.
Cricket has a nameless one night stand in Costa Rica that she thought would stay in the past. Until she comes home with a souvenir..her son. She’s made a stable life for her and her son but her world gets flipped upside down when she runs into her one night stand Griffin. They reconnect, sparks fly and emotions run high. What will happen when he finds out he has a 4 year old son?! You’ll have to read it to find out! Loved this book so much! I didn’t know this was part of a series when I got this arc. However it didn’t take away from the story! 5⭐️This releases 10/17/25
Small town One night stand Surprise child Sports romance Cowboy romance
Thank you to ham bright pr and SL Scott for this arc!
4.5 🎧+ 📕 : Small Town Frenzy by S.L. Scott Why you’ll love this audiobook!! Sports Romance Rivalry to Lovers Single Parent Surprise Child Cowboy Romance Small Town Millionaire / Billionaire Second Chance He Falls First No Third Act Breakup I love this book I listened and followed along. This is my first book by S.L. Scott and it will not be the last!! I loved the banter in this book. This is a small town, Single mom, Baseball romance.. Griffin and Cricket have a one stand and no transfer of personal info just a one night stand . Cricket goes home with more than what she came to the trip with she is in her small town running the family winery while also taking care of her son.. Guess who she see in said small town with the same cocky smile he had back then. I loved watching Griffin grown and change as a person.I listen last read this book in under a day it so good!! The narrators Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom did an amazing job with their voice to bring these characters to life!’
I really enjoyed this story. It was an easy read and quite light too.
The characters are loveable and relatable. I found myself enjoying both perspectives and wanting to finish the book but also wanted it to go on forever. It wasn't just the main characters either the supporting characters also made an impact.
It's written really well in the way people speak which makes it flow nicely. Sometimes dialogue is written but not how you say it naturally but more professional so to speak so it doesn't flow as well. It's great to see this story has it. It doesn't happen in some stories so when it does I enjoy it even more.
I hope there is development to make this a series and have Savvy's story too!
I've not read anything by this author before but I'll definitely want to read more by her!
I wanted to love this second chance so much!! However, it missed the mark for me. The lead up to Griffin finding out about his son was so.. uneventful?? I wanted sparks, I wanted fumes.. I wanted some sort of emotion from him. He finds out and it’s all “meh, I have a son” he wasn’t even mad at cricket for keeping it from him. And the fact that it took SO long for him to find out he had a son in the first place felt so off! I wanted to see more form him getting to know his son and build that relationship.
Griffin and cricket were super cute together but it felt that all griffin cared about was how she looked? Overall cute small town romance, I just wanted something else!
✨ Thank you to S.L. Scott and Hambright PR for the eALC in exchange for an honest review! All opinions are my own. ✨
Small Town Frenzy has it all! What if a one-night stand—with no names exchanged—led to a life-changing surprise? Cricket and Griffin share a sizzling connection in Costa Rica, but years later, only one of them knows the truth about their “souvenir.” When Griffin returns home for the off-season, he doesn’t expect to run into her—the mystery woman from his past.
With a long-standing family feud, a small-town full of gossip, and a child who looks a little too familiar, emotions run high. This romance is steamy yet heartfelt, filled with witty banter and slow-burn tenderness that gives off major Christina Lauren vibes. Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood perfectly capture both the charm of Peachtree Pass and the emotional intensity of Cricket and Griffin’s story.
3.5 stars - I've enjoyed the Peachtree Pass series so far, but the secret in this one was withheld for such a huge portion of the story. I found myself unable to enjoy their budding relationship the longer she withheld the truth and I was going crazy. Once the secret's out, then I devoured, not only the MC's, but their families as well, who also play a huge role in the story.
What an exciting, intense story. Two people meet on a trip, no info exchanged, yet their connection is undeniable. Neither is at a place for any committement in their journey for now. This story will make you laugh, feel and see the better in yourself and what you can be. when whatever is meant to be, will be! Great story!
this is a surprise baby story. I very much enjoyed this story line of one night stand, no info exchanged and then finding out his your enemy. ahh just a fab story that I couldnt put down. highly recommended
This was a small town romance with a hidden pregnancy/child. I did like that Griffin didn't have hate for Cricket when he found out that he had a son. It was sweet that their loved stopped the rival between the families.
Overall, not my favorite of Suzie’s series. My favorites of hers have been a lot more emotional than this one which was just lighter all around. It was a pleasant series but nothing impactful for me.
Book Review: Small Town Frenzy by S.L. Scott Thank you to the author and Hambright PR for my gifted ARC/ALC.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (4.5/5 Stars)
Let’s set the scene: Costa Rica. One night. Two very attractive, very impulsive people. Zero last names exchanged, but plenty of unforgettable chemistry. That’s how Small Town Frenzy begins — and it only spirals beautifully, dramatically, and deliciously from there.
Cricket Dover, queen of single motherhood and professional multitasking, thought her one-night stand was a tropical blip in her otherwise carefully curated life. Fast-forward four years, and surprise! That blip now has a name — Jacob — and a fondness for baseball. Life in Peachtree Pass, Texas is going just fine until a charity game brings a familiar set of blue eyes, broad shoulders, and bad timing back into her world. Enter Griffin Greene: former pro player, local legend, and member of the one family her own has spent generations feuding with. You know, casual small-town drama.
The moment Griffin and Cricket see each other again, you can feel the air crackle. Their chemistry doesn’t simmer — it sizzles. S.L. Scott writes that kind of banter that’s sharp and flirtatious but layered with real emotion. These two have history (even if half of it’s unspoken) and watching it unfold feels like watching fireworks in slow motion — gorgeous, chaotic, impossible to look away from.
Griffin is everything you want in a romance hero: charming, self-aware, and just cocky enough to make you roll your eyes before he makes you melt. Cricket is a powerhouse — strong, stubborn, and trying her damnedest to keep her heart and her secret under wraps. Together? They’re magnetic. Every interaction brims with tension, humor, and that sweet ache of wanting something you know could ruin you — but also save you.
And oh, that secret. Watching Cricket wrestle with how and when to tell Griffin about their son adds a raw tenderness to the story. It’s not melodrama; it’s human. She’s terrified of losing control, of disrupting her son’s world, of being hurt again. But when Griffin finds out — and how he reacts — it’s the emotional payoff you came for. He’s not just a swoon-worthy cowboy athlete; he’s a man who learns, grows, and loves fiercely once he realizes what’s at stake.
S.L. Scott’s writing is cozy yet bold — think small-town warmth with a side of spice and sass. The emotional beats land hard without ever feeling heavy. The humor sparkles, the pacing hums, and the romance? Chef’s kiss. She captures that specific brand of small-town intimacy — where secrets travel faster than Wi-Fi and everyone knows who’s parked in whose driveway. The world of Peachtree Pass feels alive and familiar, and saying goodbye to it hurts in that satisfying way only great series finales do.
The audiobook deserves its own standing ovation. Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood are perfection as Griffin and Cricket. Thom gives Griffin’s swagger and vulnerability the perfect drawl, while Peachwood nails Cricket’s blend of steel and softness. Together, their narration elevates every scene — the playful teasing, the emotional confessions, even the charged silences. They get these characters. You don’t just hear the story; you feel it.
And let’s not forget the supporting cast — because Peachtree Pass wouldn’t be Peachtree Pass without nosy neighbors, overprotective families, and the obligatory small-town gossip mill. The Greene and Dover clans bring equal parts chaos and heart, grounding the romance in community and history. Jacob, Cricket and Griffin’s son, is pure sunshine — charming, funny, and the perfect catalyst for the story’s most tender moments.
What makes Small Town Frenzy shine is its heart. Yes, it’s sexy. Yes, it’s witty. But underneath the flirty banter and smoldering glances lies a story about second chances — about forgiveness, family, and finding home in the last place you expect.
By the time the epilogue rolled around, I was smiling like an idiot. The ending ties everything together without feeling rushed — just warmth, peace, and the quiet satisfaction of watching two people finally get it right.
Quote:
“She may have brought my heart back to life, but it’s not mine to own. Not anymore. It’s all hers, and I give it willingly for her to hold on to.”
In short: Small Town Frenzy is emotional comfort food. It’s a cinnamon-roll hero with a cowboy hat, a heroine with grit, a kid who steals the show, and an author who knows exactly how to make you laugh, swoon, and maybe text your ex (don’t).
S.L. Scott closes out the Peachtree Pass series with heat, humor, and heart — the perfect blend of small-town chaos and big love.
It all started with a wild and nameless night in Costa Rica. I absolutely loved Small Town Frenzy by S.L. Scott; it is an incredible small-town rivals to lovers/surprise child love story. It is the third and final book in her Peachtree Pass series. Small Town Frenzy is a bittersweet for me since it is the last book in the series, and I had to say farewell to the Greene family. S.L. Scott is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read and has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I love that she continues to write the books that I love to read and is a must-read author for me. I was hooked on the first few pages, it was impossible to put Small Town Frenzy down, it filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? Small Town Frenzy is the story of Cricket Dover, single mother of almost four-year-old son, Jacob, events coordinator for the Dover Creek Winery and operations manager for the Dover Creek Armadillos, a regional baseball team and the stadium where they play and Griffin Greene, former professional baseball player. Griffin has not returned home to Peachtree Pass in years. He returns to play in a charity baseball game to support the Greene County and Dover County high school baseball teams that is organized by Cricket. At first Griffin thinks that Cricket is a stalker. They recognize each other from the night they spent together on Jaco Beach four years ago where no names or where they were from were exchanged. This night lead to an unexpected pregnancy child and a surprise child for Cricket. A generations long family feud exists between the Dovers and the Greenes. Neither Cricket nor Griffin know the history behind the feud. While training for the charity game Griffin and Cricket spend time together and things quickly heat up between the two of them. I love the chemistry and the conversation between Griffin and Cricket which flows so easily, with innuendos and banter, with dirty talking Griffin constantly flirting with Cricket. I love the nickname that Griffin calls Cricket. Love how Griffin meets Cricket’s and his son, Jacob. It was my favorite part of the story, and it leads to Cricket admitting to Griffin that Jacob is his son. I love the significance behind the reason that Cricket chose Jacob’s name. Originally, they keep their relationship secret, as well as the identity of Jacob’s father. Plot twists and turns put Cricket and Griffin’s relationship in jeopardy. I loved the heart-to-heart conversation between Cricket and Griffin, especially the ones where Griffin shares the impact of his mother’s death on him, and the conversation that Cricket has with her father, especially when she stands up to him regarding the nickname that he calls her. I love the relationship that Griffin has with Jacob and how Jacob is a baseball loving cowboy. I love all the changes that Cricket and Griffin are willing to make in their lives to have a life with each other and Jacob, especially how Griffin renovates a house that his neighbor growing up left to him. I love how they finally admit their feelings for one another. One of my favorite parts is how the title of the book is incorporated into the love story, with a simple statement from Cricket when they decide to date. Another favorite part of the story are the epilogues that are told from Cricket’s and Griffin’s perspective. It is the perfect ending of their love story. I loved it. I love all the surprise revealed, especially the birth of Lauralee and Baylor’s baby. I love the descriptions of Peachtree Pass, Texas, the Rollingwood Ranch and Dover Creek. I really enjoy how the book is told from the first-person perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Small Town Frenzy is small town rivals to lovers/surprise child love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, S.L. Scott did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments and the plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. I love how S.L. Scott always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Small Town Frenzy, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Greene siblings, and Cricket’s interactions with them, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I loved all the characters in Small Town Frenzy, especially Cricket’s relationship with her cousin and assistant, Savvy. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Small Town Frenzy. Highly recommend this incredible love story. It was bittersweet for me since the Peachtree Pass series is now complete. Received an advanced copy from the author.
It was so much fun being back in Peachtree Pass and spending time in Dover County, Greene County, and at Rollingwood Ranch. It’s been a hot minute waiting for the elusive Griffin Greene to show his face in these here parts, and boy oh boy did he hit a home run when he did. He had me swooning and hooked to the pages of Small Town Frenzy.
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. I’ve been enjoying sports romances lately, especially baseball right now! Go Blue Jays! LOL! Anyway, getting back on track, mixing sports romance and small-town romance is definitely my vibe right now, and S. L. Scott (a.k.a. Suzie) managed to check every box for me with Griffin and Cricket. They’re feisty with each other, and they had great banter. They were rocking the enemies-to-lovers vibes, which also turned up the angst. But then the ultimate twist, the pièce de resistance, was finding out this story was also a second-chance romance! Nothing could have pleased me more.
The little secret Cricket was keeping is a real showstopper, and the Greene family handled it with pure love. Griffin made me swoon when he was all-in to be there for Cricket and start their lives together, after waiting four long years. No hesitation! He found his secret ingredient and wasn’t letting her slip through his fingers again.
Readers need to prepare themselves for a fabulous conclusion to the Peachtree Pass series. I’m a bit saddened to know that I won’t be getting any more from these characters. The Greene family really is fabulous, every one of them, and every book had me swooning and living vicariously at some time or another.
I was lucky enough to receive an early audiobook copy from the author, so I was able to fully immerse myself in this love story. One of my favorite things to do these days is listen while reading along. I get lost in the voices and become part of their world. The audio version of Small Town Frenzy is done in dual narration. Both narrators, Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood, are amazing as Griffin and Cricket. It was easy to envision these characters. Tor has an unmistakable voice, so had I not been reading along, I believe there were times I would have questioned which character he was portraying. I didn’t always sense much variation in his voice between characters. I have listened to him before in darker roles, so it took me a bit to settle into his voice with this role. Savannah didn’t seem to have any issues with varying her voice for all of the different characters. Dual narration is hard, and they both smashed it out of the park.
*An advance reader copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.*
One night in Costa Rica changed the lives of both Cricket Dover and Griffin Greene. Not that names or any other personal information was exchanged. It was a night neither one of them would soon (or ever) forget. Especially Cricket, who got pregnant that night. Now she’s a single mom to her son, Jacob.
Four years later, Griffin rolls into town to play in a charity baseball game to raise money for two neighboring county’s high school baseball teams. Griffin’s own baseball career may have stalled, and he may have pretty much ghosted his family since his mom passed four years ago, but Griffin can’t say no when asked to participate.
Cricket has made a life for herself and Jacob in Dover County. She is the events coordinator for the Dover Creek Winery and operations manager for the Dover Creek Armadillos, a regional baseball team and the stadium where they play, both owned by her family. When she goes into the stadium to get a signature from the latest addition to the charity game, Cricket comes face to face with the one person she never thought she’d see again. The one who shares the same striking eyes with her son.
“The last thing I need is a vacation fling showing up wearing the one name on the back of his baseball jersey that’s forbidden by my family.”
A number of things could be factors as to why Cricket should stay far away from Griffin. Number one being his last name… Greene. The Dover’s and the Greene’s are enemies, even though this generation has no idea why. Griffin could find out about Jacob and turn their lives upside down by fighting for custody. But once Griffin stops treating Cricket like a fan girl, which she definitely is not, and realizes she’s the woman he met in Costa Rica who he’s never forgotten, everything changes for him.
From the moment he finds out about his son, Griffin wants to get to know Jacob, on Jacob’s terms, which puts Cricket at ease. They start spending more time with each other, sometimes at his family’s farm, where both Cricket and Jacob get to know Griffin’s family, although they don’t tell them at first that Jacob is Griffin’s son. The bigger hurdle is going to be Cricket’s family. Her family was already disappointed that Cricket is an unwed mother. How are they going to react when they find out Jacob’s father is a Greene?
SL Scott has many of my favorite genres rolled up into one big spicy tale… single parent, sports, second chance and small town romance. The banter between Cricket and Griffin doesn’t stop. It’s teasing and has a heck of a lot of heart. The way S.L. weaves Griffin’s family into the book makes me feel like I am part of the family. Am I the only one hoping that Savvy is going to get a story of her very own? Here’s to hoping…
📚🎧ARC/ALC Review🎧📚 Small Town Frenzy by S.L. Scott will have you contemplating uprooting your life to go to Texas to grab yourself a man with the last name Greene because of how SWOON-WORTHY they are!
⚾Sports Romance 🍇Rivalry to Lovers 💙Single Parent/Surprise Child 🐴Cowboy Romance 🍇Millionaire/Billionaire 💙One Night Stand to Second Chance **No cowboy hats were harmed during sexy time, but they were utilized 😉**
Cricket’s life gets turned upside down after a one-night stand in Costa Rica leaves her with more than her hot as sin mystery man’s cowboy hat as a souvenir — her son. Never exchanging names, the last thing she expects is for her vacation fling to show up to her charity baseball game sporting the one name on the back of his baseball jersey that’s forbidden by her family. Greene. Her biggest rival? Yup. He’s the father of her child and he doesn’t know it yet…
So, when Cricket and Griffin can no longer deny the pull they feel toward one another and start spending time together? Her walls begin to crumble. Is this the second chance they both need, or will their family rivalry tear them apart?
I loved this tandem ebook & audiobook read and I couldn’t help but binge it in 24 hours! Tor Thom & Savannah Peachwood did a phenomenal job of portraying the rivals to lovers connection, instant spark and undeniable pull between Griffin & Cricket — these two were so dang cute one minute and then turning up the heat the next! The connection between Griffin and Cricket was absolutely electric from their night in Costa Rica, and then meeting one another again 4 years later after reliving that night on repeat in their heads? Let’s just say the underlying heat was there, but they started off on the wrong foot. As these two get properly acquainted in their hometown, the pull and chemistry is undeniable, the banter and quick wit will have you in stitches, and the emotions developing run deep as secrets are revealed. Although their families are rivals, these two find their own footing – Griffin was patient and understanding in all the right ways, and both Cricket and Griffin learned to be vulnerable to embrace the way the universe brought them together, opening their hearts in a way that will give you all the feels – the love they had for one another was heartwarming 💙
If you’re looking for a sweet, small-town romance, this is perfect!
Special thanks to S.L. Scott & HambrightPR for the ARC & ALC! All thoughts are my own!
Small Town Frenzy Peachtree Pass, Book 3 By: S.L. Scott Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood, Tor Thom
It is great to be back in S.L. Scott’s “Peachtree Pass” world again for another wonderful small-town romance novel that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. This third book in the series is Griffin Greene and Cricket Dover’s story, a story that stands on its own, and what starts as a steamy encounter and one-night stand, between two strangers vacationing in Costa Rica, ends in an accidental pregnancy, with no way of finding the father to let him know. Fast forward four plus years, Cricket, a single mom of an almost four-year-old son, Jacob, helps run her family’s business, and is setting up a charity baseball game and that is how she ran into him, her one-night-stand and her son’s father again. Griffin Greene is back in Peachtree Pass for the game and to see his family, not expecting to run into the woman he never forgot about. The chemistry between these two was smoking hot, and it was clear they wanted one another, but was complicated, with her needing to tell him about having a son and then there was that rivalry between their families. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, charming and heartwarming moments, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. S.L. Scott, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom were the perfect pairing and cast to bring these characters to life. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Peachwood’s portrayal of Cricket was spot on, showcasing every aspect of her personality beautifully, including her confidence and fierceness. Thom was just as amazing as Griffin, embodying his personality and demeanor completely. Both were fantastic at voicing and performing the roles of the secondary/side characters, too. Their pacing and tone were ideal for the story, and they conveyed all their character’s emotions in their performance, had you feel each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance rivets you to the story.
“Small Town Frenzy" is a blend of sports, romance, and the small-town life that keeps us on the edge of their seats. S.L. Scott writes an engaging story that draws you into the whirlwind of emotions experienced by its heroine, who finds herself at the intersection of love, rivalry, and motherhood.
The story is based around a one-night stand in Costa Rica that leads to a surprise child. Cricket, a busy single mom, faces the challenges of raising her son while running the family business. The surprise twist of her son's father, (her once hot and enigmatic fling) returning as a rival player adds tension and excitement to the storyline. The dynamic between them is electric, filled with unresolved feelings, witty banter, and sizzling chemistry.
The essence of small-town life, where everyone knows each other, and past grievances linger just beneath the surface is done really well. Cricket’s struggle to keep her son away from the man who could disrupt their lives makes this an interesting read. The walls she built to protect her heart are tested throughout the book, leading to emotional moments that are both heartwarming and heart wrenching!
Why is Griffin back? He was doing well as a baseball player ? (Keep reading 😉) And what’s a guy to do or say when presented with a face from his past and a small reminder of what they did?!
The pacing is well balanced, with enough humor and spice that kept me reading way past my bedtime 😉 The author’s vivid descriptions transport you right into the small town and onto the baseball field, making you feel the tension and excitement of every encounter between the main characters. I loved how Cricket loved her son, he was the center of her world.
The author delivers a fulfilling and spicy romance that combines elements of sports and family drama in a small-town setting. The playful rivalry mixed with heartfelt moments makes it a delightful read. If you’re a fan of rivals-to-lovers tales, surprise children, and strong characters, this standalone novel is sure to tick all the boxes.
This is the third (and I believe) and final book in this trilogy. No need to read books 1 & 2 before this one. But I did (and loved them both) and although sad to leave this small town, I’m going to carry Griffin and Cricket around with me for a while 💜
S.L. Scott DID IT AGAIN!! Another PERFECT book in this series! I have fallen in love with all of the characters in this series. This series also has such GORGEOUS covers!! I love the originals and the special edition ones. She put so much though into this series and she nailed it!
In this book. we get to hear about Griffin Greene. He's back in Peachtree Pass to play a fundraiser game to help the local schools out. When a woman ends up running into him the last person he expects is the woman he had a one night stand with in Costa Rica 4 years ago. Their reconnection doesn't go to well but you instantly know these two have chemistry!
Cricket Dover is a single mom doing all she can to raise her son right and run the Dover Empire. When she runs into Griffin the last thing she expects is to find the father of her child from a one night stand 4 years ago. Now how is she going to tell this baseball player he has a son?!
This story had me laughing, smiling like crazy, getting a little emotional, had some blushing moments and then I was left with a BEAUTIFUL ending! I loved Griffin and Cricket's chemistry and the way their love story came together. I love how much his family supports him and is there for him. They are truly a great family and I loved spending more time with them. I did read the ARC and I listened to the ALC for this book. I felt more emotion from the characters with the audiobook but I loved having both versions so I got to feel both versions in my soul. If you have an opportunity to do both I HIGHLY recommend it. I HIGHLY recommend this book and this series.
The Narrators Savannah Peachwood & Tor Thom did a wonderful job telling this story. I really felt the connection between the characters. They held my attention and kept me entertained through the entire audiobook.
Thank you S.L. Scott for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
Thank you S.L. Scott and Hambright PR for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.
As an all-genre romance reader who loves and reads mostly dark romance, I found the light and fluffy (but no less fun and engaging) Peachtree Pass series a refreshing palate cleanser between heavier stories. S.L. Scott is a wonderful storyteller who has brought her dynamic, interesting, lovable, and relatable characters to vibrant life time and again, from Christine and Tagger in Long Time Coming and Lauralee and Baylor in Lead Me Not to Cricket and Griffin in Small Town Frenzy, which gives readers a beautiful and satisfying ending to the memorable series.
Now, I love both of the other books (and the entire Greene family), but I must admit that Small Town Frenzy is my favorite of the three. Like the others, it has no shortage of heart, heat, and humor, but Cricket and Griffin's story affected me most of all because they're so darn cute with their witty (and sometimes biting) banter, instant and undeniable chemistry, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers vibes, and second chance romance that feels like fate. I absolutely love Cricket's contrasting no-nonsense attitude and affectionate nature, Griffin's realistic struggles with grief and guilt and admirable determination to do right by not only his family but also Cricket and their son (who's also so darn cute), and how they both feel lonely and lost without each other. About halfway through the book, I knew that Cricket and Griffin would move heaven and earth to be together, no matter their families' old rivalry or thoughts on the matter, and I'm so glad I was right because they get one of the sweetest HEAs I've ever read.
I've been a fan of S.L. Scott's emotional stories for a while now, whether they include arrogant athletes, humble cowboys, or damaged rock stars and whether they're set in small towns or big cities. Each of her characters is distinct and flawed, which leaves room for them to grow, and each of her stories is well written and equal parts heartbreaking and heartwarming. I'm sad that the Peachtree Pass series is now finished, but I'm excited to see where she'll take her readers next and who we'll meet there.
“I’m going to feel some way about that kind of contact with him - hate or the opposite. I won’t know until I stop overthinking, take a deep breath, and slip my hand into his. My first thought, it’s not hate. My second, I’m in trouble.”
If there’s one thing I know with absolute certainty, it’s that S. L. Scott will always deliver a story that will have me swooning, laughing, crying, and everything in between. Small Town Frenzy is even more proof of that. This book was everything I imagined and more.
“Cricket Dover is unequivocally the most captivating woman I’ve ever met. Her laughter is music, her body a map I want to travel every inch. Those green eyes are electric when she’s happy and softer when she’s deep in thought. That smile, though...it had my attention the first time I ever saw it.”
I have been intrigued by the enigmatic Griffin Greene since he was first mentioned in Long Time Coming and I am obsessed now that I’ve gotten to know him. He’s an extremely handsome, cocky baseball player, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. He has such a big heart and he had mine skipping a beat a few times. Cricket is his perfect match. She’s feisty and strong, and the way she’s finally doing things for herself rather than to meet her parents’ expectations is beautiful. The chemistry between these two had me melting, and the way they softly push each other to open up warmed my heart.
On top of that, there is an amazing group of side characters. Jacob is the cutest kid and completely stole my heart. Beckett and his old soul made me smile. Getting to see Christine & Tagger, Baylor & Lauralee, and Bryan & Peaches again made my heart so happy.
“There’s no living this life without you in it, though. I want us to be together, Little Chirp.” “A family. No more stories of fated love to be told generations from now.”
If you like small town romances where he falls first with lots of spice & banter, you need to read Small Town Frenzy. While you’re at it, read the entire Peachtree Pass series. You won’t regret it. Now if anyone needs me, I’ll be trying to figure out how I can move to a town like Peachtree Pass.
