Edwin Sawyer thought his troubles were over when he slew the monster that attacked Blackwater's freshman class during their Grand Conjuration. With the two coeds who share his affections well on their way to achieving their majors and one of the campus's most powerful—and insane—female teachers at his side, winter break looks like a time for rest, relaxation, and solidifying his new relationships.
Then tragedy strikes and the unthinkable happens.
With the college thrown into chaos, Edwin is forced into a position of authority he never asked for. Tracking down the people responsible for attacking Blackwater will take him and his women to the ends of the Earth and beyond—into the magical Allways and their paths to the rest of the Nine Realms.
It might even require the help of the infamous (and forbidden) Black Moon Society. Joining the ranks of the heretic wizards was never part of the plan, but their leader is more than willing to grant him their powers. Assuming he's willing to pay her price, of course.
It's going to be a cold winter. Good thing Edwin's got plenty to keep him warm...
The story and characters were very good already, but this book went crazy with what happened. Most of it I did not see coming, but it was amazing. I wish we had more build up with all the new girls, but with how much was happening in the story, there wasn't a lot of time. Hopefully, we slow down a little in the next one since it looks like this first Arc has ended. Love all the girls, but the harem is on the edge of being too unruly.
I started this expecting a school learning type series and that’s how it started, for 5 minutes. It has since become just a jumbled mess. The authors have started jumping sharks like they’re ramps in a ski competition!
It seems like every problem is solved with Edwin’s junk! Goddess of the underworld, sex. Blood moons society, sex. Change in leadership, sex. Literally almost every problem is solved with the mc’s little head, he is basically nothing more than a life support system for his junk. He does almost no actual magic, just sex. The whole thing with all the “gods” and realms and such is just too forced and cringe at this point.
The story has just gotten stupid; although, to be fair I expect this with Dante’s books by now. He is really good and starting a new and interesting series, but when we get mid-late it inevitably crashes and burns to trashy drivel. Really unfortunate because, as usual, it started off really interesting.
It was fine. I mostly picked it up to take a break from the more serious stuff I've been reading lately. I think the story is ridiculous, and the main character moves up in power in the world at Mach Jesus, but the writing itself is pretty entertaining.
I just want to say I'm sick to death of women getting pregnant after just a couple of months of being with the man in these types of books. Like it makes sense in the terms of irresponsible college kids raw dogging it, but also, these people are supposed to live for thousands of years and they're having kids when they're 20. I know it's my personal bias about taking time to actually have a relationship before kids enter into it but it's my review and it's supposed to be subjective dang it!
