The darkness of the dark web.

A strong work by Matthew Doggett.

Unlike many collections, this was top notch from start to finish. They vary in length (which I prefer), and each is a unique story. Different settings, different character motivations, revenge, regret etc.

In my opinion, there was surprisingly little redundancy among the 30 despite all being written by the same author. The common theme is the various horrors of the dark web.

Each story was a first person narrative that somehow reflects the unpredictable dangers of the dark web. Sometimes the narrator was a victim; sometimes he was the cause of tragedy (intentionally or inadvertently). The twists were delicious.

This is a collection of stand alone short stories. Some of the stories in this collection made you stop and think about them, some made you say omg I can't believe it. The writing is well done and the author's story telling keeps you engaged. A couple of my favorites from this collection were "Get haunted on the dark web" and "Never meet your idols". I'm sure after reading these stories you will find a few favorites too.

4.25 down to 4 stars

Another good collection but some stories were just ok. However, some stores could be developed to full-length novels. Also, I am not sure if the author has any access to Dark Web in real life because he seemed to be knowledgeable about it (I am scared for his life).

In this book, some gory scenes appeared a bit random like cutting someone's limbs, legs, etc. That is, gore seemed to be overused (and even misused). As such, I gave it 4 stars.

Yet, this is a very talented author. Now, I move to his Undead series to see how vampires and zombies fight.

A creepy collection of horror stories, all centered around the dark web. Although the stories are fictional, they are all based off of events that could easily become a reality, which makes them unsettling. Some of the stories are better than others but overall this is a recommended read for those that have a fear of the dark web. My personal favorite was “The Dark Web Made Me Do It” and I thought that “The Unboxing” was the scariest.

Great Read but distorted.

This book is great. Very distorted for sure. Would have loved some of the stories were longer. A book I could not put down.
