With the approach of the Winter Solstice, Sarah Ashby, a rising, young financial executive, has an emotional meltdown that unleashes an overpowering hunger for some essential, lost part of herself connected to her inner power and beauty, and the mysteries of the sacred feminine.

Following her instincts and the dream directives of a raven, Sarah propels herself on a spiritual adventure that lands her on a remote, rugged island on the Canadian West Coast and into the alternative, pagan world of magic, ritual and the Dark Goddess.

Karen Clark is the founder of the Path of She, a journey of transformation with the sacred feminine. In her mid-twenties, a series of synchronistic events conspired to wake Karen up in the midst of a corporate, achievement-driven life and set her on a spiritual journey of reclaiming the lost pieces of her feminine soul and true self. Karen's writing draws upon twenty-five years of spiritual and feminist studies, gender-based consulting, and dreaming and healing with the Goddess. She reaches out to the magic and profound capabilities that lie dormant within our everyday existence, lost jewels just waiting for the touch of our conscious awareness to reawaken and blossom.

It is rare that I find a book that not only draws me along with it's story but also personally challenges me to be stronger, better, and to look at what I'm missing or what I have lost. I've gotten ahead of myself here. I fell in love with the characters in this book because Sara isn't just a woman in a book, she lives, and breathes and walks in the world. The world she lives in looks just like mine, because it IS my world. It is a rare writer that can find something that can touch each reader, but I was blessed to be part of a group and watch as others were moved as I was moved by reading this book that will soon grace my home in physical reality, not only as a digital download. During the hardest part of my life, most difficult days, and deepest grief I've known, Karen's writing and characters helped me find the strength and beauty in what I was going through. Helped me find the strength I didn't think that I would find again, at least not for a good long time. There is beauty, pain, growth, and challenges in this book, and all of it you can take from The Tale of the Lost Daughter and apply to your own life, right now and begin to find your strength. It is my belief that this book has come at a time when our planet is crying out for our love, and attention, and also the Divine Feminine is calling to us. It is time to heal our world, ourselves, and find a better way to move our world forward. The times of division, and hatred and greed are coming to an end. I highly recommend this to anyone who is feeling lost, disconnected, depressed, or who is searching for something elusive something you KNOW you NEED but just cannot define. You may just find it here.

As often happens in my journey work, the inspiration to write Tale of the Lost Daughter came to me in a dream. I awoke in the soft-edged darkness of predawn, with the outline of a book crystal clear in my mind. I was to write about the path of the sacred feminine, what I have come to know as the Path of She, based on my spiritual travels and studies as a waking woman seeking the lost fragments of my feminine soul. It took me several years to mine the archetypal roots of my personal story, where the mysteries of the Goddess guide the great awakening of these times, and to weave these mysteries into a work of fiction — a tale of a lost daughter who heeds the stirring of her soul and dares to step from her everyday reality into the world of magic and the sacred feminine in search of her inner beauty and gifts.

Tale of The Lost Daughter is a must read for any woman embarking on a path of self-discovery! Karen Clark has crafted an amazing story that I believe can inspire all women, no matter where they are in life, to gain an understanding that will help them discover their true natures--their innate gifts and abilities, recognize where they are best suited in life, appreciate their strengths as well as understand their areas of challenge...that only the Dark Goddess can bring.

I loved this book - reflective of my own experiences with the Dark Goddess, the Tales of the Lost Daughter is about Sarah, a high powered partner of a recently merged company which feels the call for something more. Set in Canada's West Coast Sarah's journey to bring both her worlds into balance are met with tension leading into a new awakening. Though a first novel, Karen has done well to bring her characters to life with feeling.

A riveting, heartfelt read; a wondrous pagan tale of growth and remembrance.

A few of my favorite quotes:

"We cannot reclaim our beauty without embracing our wounds."

“I choose the middle way, the Dark Goddess’s Path of She,” I say without a pause."

I truly loved this book. I do want to provide a *Trigger Warning* to other readers that this book does speak about childhood sexual assault during it's conclusion.

Karen Clark has a wonderful way with words and her descriptions allow you to be standing alongside Sarah and Kayla as they dedicate themselves to the path. I found myself healing through this book as I aligned with the stress, confusion, and grief that Sarah was navigating. I am grateful to have my world introduced to new beliefs and new forms of healing through the characters in this novel. I highly suggest that anyone who is trying to reconnect with their inner selves or feels like pieces of them are missing - reads this book, it's relatability alone is highly beneficial.

What a beautiful book! This is a must read for any woman who has ever embarked on a life that has called her from what she knew to what she believed could be possible. Richly detailed and personal, Tale of the Lost Daughter is an inspired retelling of the myth of Inanna as it played out archetypally in the protagonist's experience. Author Karen Clark's visceral understanding of the Dark Goddess is effortlessly infused throughout the pages, and she imparts this wisdom to her reader in a way that instantly resonates. The characters are alive and vital, and it's hard to put this book down, once you open it. Highly recommended!
