Rate this book
A bond neither asked for. A war they never saw coming.

Ambrose Boucher isn’t looking for love—he’s looking for blood. After the brutal murder of his younger brother, vengeance is all that fuels him. Step track down the mysterious mate his brother died protecting. Step burn the shadowy organization behind it all to the ground. But fate has other plans. Instead of Zeke’s mate, Ambrose finds his own—and she’s the last person ready to believe in destiny.

Lucille Franklin knows exactly what being a vampire’s mate means. She watched her brother fall headfirst into a bond that was beautiful… until it turned tragic. With vampires being hunted and their mates targeted, Lucy swore she’d never let herself get pulled into that world. But Ambrose is impossible to ignore—relentless, dangerous, and already tangled in the grief that nearly broke her once before.

As the Bouchers dig deeper into a deadly conspiracy, Lucy and Ambrose are forced to rely on a bond she never wanted and a connection he can’t control. But when enemies close in and secrets unravel, trusting each other might be the only way to survive.

Can a love forged in loss be strong enough to rewrite fate—or will history repeat itself in blood?

Perfect for fans of J.R. Ward and Kresley Cole, this spicy paranormal romance delivers fated mates, emotional angst, protective vampires, and a slow-burn intensity that ignites into fire.

2.5⭐️ I LOVED the first book of the series so much but I had a feeling the author kind of wrote herself in a corner with her “Mate At First Sight” storyline and that’s exactly what happened.

So here’s the rundown, the second a vampire first sees their human fated mate the “heat” kicks in and they are basically stuck next to one another from there. Technically they can reject the bond but not really. So with that storyline the author really only has two options to go with from there - disgust to love or lust to love. And let’s be honest, nobody wants insta love.

The first book was disgust to love and it was hilarious. I laughed, I cried, I felt all of the emotions over Beau and Reese’s love story.

With Blood & Bond (Book 2) it felt like the author was grasping at straws with the romance side of the story. She couldn’t just recreate another disgust to love storyline so instead she just created one giant headache of an FMC as the conflict. Literally the entire book was Lucy being a giant biotch. If it wasn’t her raging on page then it was her brother moping around sad over his lost mate. 75% of the book’s focus was Lucy babying her “baby” (older) brother, Charlie. If Lucy and Ambrose (the MMC) were on the page together it was her being insanely rude to him and him being a spineless doormat. There was still little glimpses of the author’s humor throughout the story but not like the first book, Veins & Vows. I did enjoy getting to revisit the world and the Boucher family. Also the plot outside of the romance was pretty good. Lucy had moments where she was kinda cool like taking out bad guys with a pistol and snapping their necks but other than that I just wasn’t feeling this one.

With there still being 2 brothers left in the series I’m really struggling to see how the author plans to write the next two books without them just repeating the same love tropes as the first two.

This is a new author to me and very intriguing. I love reading about paranormals especially wolfs, dragons, and vampires. Ambrose Boucher and Lucy Franklin. Ambrose’s brother, Zeke, was killed. Why???? Ambrose’s other brothers are Chance, Danny, and Beau. They are all Vampires. On further investigation Ambrose found out that Zeke has a mate. Ambrose and his family needed to find Zeke’s mate who is part of his soul. In the meantime
Lucy and Charlie were slowly coming to Zeke’s family. This is what Zeke wanted if he did not come back. By coincidence or not both families met up unknowingly in a small town. Lucy was shocked at first and didn’t believe they were Zeke’s brothers. They wanted to find Charlie and Lucy and bring them to their family’s home. Should she go or not? Could this be a trick? Well Ambrose made the decision for her. And oh by the way Lucy is Ambrose’s mate! Isn’t that a kick in the head? She has so many questions but there is no time. She is in danger. And they still have to get Charlie. This looks like it is going to get complicated. Get ready!

Blood & Bond by Nicole Jacquelyn

A bond neither asked for. A war they never saw coming.

I absolutely devoured this book—this series just keeps getting better and better. If you’re a fan of vampires, fated mates, and plenty of heat, this one will hit all the right notes.

Lucy is everything I love in a heroine—strong, capable, and fiercely loyal. Ambrose, driven by revenge, never expects to find his fated mate in her, and the push and pull between them was perfection. Their chemistry, tension, and emotional depth made every page fly by.

With danger lurking around every corner and a story full of action, heart, and intensity, there wasn’t a single dull moment. The secondary characters add so much richness to the world, making it even more engaging. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this incredible series!

I enjoyed the storyline unfolding. However, I feel like the main characters' relationship development could be given more screen time. I feel like in this one besides them be soulmates and naturals having feelings for each other we don't get to see the main characters fall inlove or even get to know each other everything is made to be fast paced. i felt like the h sometimes wasn't justified in the way she acted or spoke to the H. While I loved how he treated her the way his personality was written in the blurb was completely different to the story. I wished he had a back bone sometimes when it came to the h. He was on edge the entire time hoping he wouldn't say something wrong. I do love that the h was a bit of a bad ass.

Finally!! A good Nicole Jacquelyn book again. It’s been a while because I feel like she lost her way with overdoing the Craving series where there really wasn’t a story left to tell. Ambrose and the heroine (forgot her name) were a good pairing but what was really beautiful in this book was the relationship between Charlie and Zeke and Ambrose and Zeke (though I did feel like we didn’t get to see much of the brothers’ grief). Zeke was the star of this offering and I'm so sad he died. His and Charlie's love was beautiful. Looking forward to Danny and his mate’s book.

I love strong female characters and Lucy definitely fits the bill. In his quest to avenge his brother, Ambrose stumbles upon his fated mate, Lucy. The push and pull between them was so good throughout.

With the added tension of the danger lurking in their midst, there was never a boring moment in this book. Lucy has always been the protective one, especially with her brother, and I liked that with Ambrose she could relax, relinquish control and feel safe.

This was my first time reading this author and I can’t wait to read more books from her in the future.

amazing amazing book

Honestly amazing.. The tears I cried in this books. I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much as I have with this book! And, that’s saying something considering I’ve cried a lot in many books. But this, I cried sadness, joy and happiness, for the love, and everything.

I honestly couldn’t stand Lucy. I almost stopped reading it because of how unlikable I found her to be. I only kept going because I loved the first book so much and I wanted to continue the storyline so I was ready for when the third book comes out.

I wanted some more relationship angst in this one. It’s very insta which it has to be because of the mate situation but then the rest of the book pretty much focuses on plot stuff and the situation with the hs brother. It wasn’t boring, I just wanted some more for the h and H.

Just when things were taking off it was over! I knew there was a continuing story arc and each book is about a fated mate couple but I wanted to keep reading. I liked this couple but I felt their story was overshadowed by Zeke and Charlie's.

Why I always cry ?

How come Nicole can make me ugly cry when I least expect it? This book was full of trauma, feels and angst....also badass females and a lot of grief. I am completely invested in knowing what is happening and how this will end.

I looooved the first book, but the fmc in this one was just awful. I expected more from Ambrose, and not some cardboard cutout doormat.

Hope Danny's book is better.

I absolutely devoured this in 24 hours - just like I did with the first book in the series, Vein & Vow. This series has quickly become a favourite of mine, and Blood & Bond only cemented that. If you’re a fan of vampires, military intrigue, fated mates, and a whole lot of heat, then this one is for you.

The overarching series follows the Boucher Brothers as they hunt for their fated human mates while seeking vengeance for the brutal murder of their youngest brother, Zeke. Their mission is clear: uncover the truth, destroy the mysterious organisation responsible, and protect the women fate has tied them to.

In Blood & Bond, the spotlight is on Ambrose, the eldest brother - quiet, commanding, and focused on justice. But fate throws him off course when he stumbles into his mate: Lucy, the fiercely independent older sister of Charlie (Zeke’s mate from book one). Lucy has no interest in the vampire world and is determined to keep her distance, yet the pull between her and Ambrose is undeniable. What follows is a tense, emotional push and pull as they try to resist their bond while being thrust deeper into the mystery behind Zeke’s death.

What I love about this series is how it balances the romance with action and suspense. There’s just the right mix of steamy chemistry, dangerous stakes, and brotherly loyalty to keep the pages flying. Ambrose and Lucy’s dynamic is intense and frustrating in the best way - full of longing, resistance, and moments that had me glued to the book.

Fast-paced, atmospheric, and full of bite (pun intended), Blood & Bond is a total vibes read. Dark, sexy, and addictive - I can’t wait to see where the Boucher Brothers’ story goes next.
