Cara When I was twelve I was forced to tell a lie that sent the only person who’d ever tried to protect me to prison. Now nine years later, I’m face to face with the man I betrayed. He is nothing like I expected, and I can’t hide my fear that he’s finally going to seek the revenge he deserves. But I can’t stay away—his touch sets me on fire. Will the passion between us be enough to burn away our past, or will I be consumed by the flames?
Doc Nine years ago I threw away my future to protect the little girl in the apartment next door. She thinks her lie sent me to prison, but she doesn’t know the whole story, doesn’t know the choices I made to protect her a second time. Five years in prison followed by four in the Steel Rebels Motorcycle Club, and I’m not the man I used to be. But when I see Cara again, old feelings of protectiveness merge with a new desire unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. Cara is all grown up and doesn’t need me to protect her anymore, but that won’t stop me from claiming her, because Cara is mine. I just have to convince her to let go of our past so we can have a future.

This is another addition to the Steel Rebels MC and we have Doc and Cara’s story. It was one that started years ago when Cara was a young girl who lived a life of abuse. During one of the beatings is when Doc shows up to help the young girl from her stepbrother but that’s when things turn. Cara is the one who helped send Doc to prison.
Now years later and Cara isn’t that little girl anymore and Doc is out of prison and with the Steel Rebels MC. Cara is working at a shelter for women who the club supports and they see each other again. Now its Doc who wants Cara but in a whole different way that what Cara would think.
This was a good heartwarming story about a man who will do anything to protect the woman he loves.
Her forced lie sent him to prison when she was 12 and she is sure he’ll want revenge. He never held her responsible and she is his. Thea men are rough but loyal and love their women. Great story and surprise happy ending.
The young girl he's never forgotten or blamed is all grown up now.
When Cara Dupree was four, she was afraid of monsters under her bed. She was five when her mother, who seemed to hate her, left her with true monsters—her stepfather, who hated the sight of her, and her hot-headed stepbrother. The neighbors ignored her bruises and the yelling and screaming coming from her house. The social workers took her stepfather's words as being truthful. No one ever helped her except for one man, and she was responsible for him being sent to prison. She finally was able to flee the monsters, but she's still not free of the memories, the regrets, and the shame of what she did.
She was able to go to college, and now she helps others escape their monsters. The Steel Rebels MC have opened Haven House in the building that once was a gentleman's club where unwilling, scared women were auctioned off to wealthy men, often the so-called pillars of society.
Cara has spent time in city shelters. Some were less safe than living on the streets. However, Haven House is the real deal. It's safe, comfortable, clean, and even has therapy dogs available. But she knows some bad memories can never be completely erased no matter how good your current life is.
Cara has been at the shelter for four months. Her boss, Samantha, offered her a job when she showed up and allowed her to live at the shelter while she is attending college. Samantha is the best maternal figure she's ever had in her life.
A young woman, Abby, makes it to the shelter after a severe beating from her boyfriend. She needs more first aid than anyone at the shelter can provide. They've learned the hard way not to go to the hospital. Many abusers in the town have excellent connections... Luckily, there is someone else they can rely on for medical treatment: a member of the Steel Rebels MC. XThe club president, Saint, has brought James, AKA Doc, Loxley with him. When she sees his face, her past comes roaring back... She was twelve when she last saw him. Her stepfather had been gone, and her stepbrother, Eric, had a party while he was gone. She had fallen asleep that night before cleaning up the mess Eric and her friends had left for her. Rather than staying home to completely finish cleaning, she'd cleaned up the best she could before leaving for a test being given at school that day.
When she got home, Eric was waiting for her. Without knowing it, she had accidentally thrown out a box with his drugs in it. He began beating her but had left the front door open. A stranger heard her screams and rushed inside. He only punched Eric once, but Eric tripped on a beer can and hit his head on the table. The fall killed him later that night.
Her stepfather forced her to lie to the police. She made a statement to them that the stranger, James, had attacked Eric for no apparent reason. He was sent to prison. She was too afraid of her stepfather to tell the truth. She ruined an innocent man's life. He hasn't recognized her yet. There's no way of telling when he might, or what he'll do to her when he does... There's no way she can ever atone for what she did to him—her age at the time is no excuse...
Doc hadn't recognized Cara until he heard her last name. Instantly he knew who she was! He had been twenty-seven and a military field medic when he heard a scream and had rushed through an open door to save a screaming female. She was so small—so malnourished that he thought she was about eight—not twelve, like he later learned.
Because of her stepfather and the corrupt system, he spent five years in prison. He was useful in prison; many inmates preferred his care to that of the prison doctors. His cellmate had been a Steel Rebel who had sponsored his membership in the MC.
Prison changed him, turning him into a bitter, hardened man. But never once did he blame the young girl who had been forced to lie. She was truly an innocent victim. She had been backed into a corner and made the only choice she could to save her life.
He can tell she's terrified of him. He hopes he'll have a chance to tell her that he understands why she did what she did. It kills him that it appears she's still suffering from that day. He doesn't know that she keeps a go bag ready in her closet in case her stepfather should find her. He still wants to slay her dragons. He gets his chance when suddenly her stepfather pops back up!

"You have a hero complex, Doc. That's one of your many flaws, but you don't stick around unless something matters. So, I'm thinking she must matter."~Trigger🎉
"She's the only thing that matters."~James aka Doc🎉
"I want this, I realize. Not just for a moment or a day. Forever."~Cara🎉
We're going back to the Steel Rebels world with James and Cara experiencing a twisted and complicated start to their journey. One that began at age 12 for her and 27 for him. It's a bit strange. I know. Cara was living in a bad household as a kid growing up. Her mother abandoned her leaving Cara with a stepfather and stepbrother that were abusive physically and also emotionally. And when Cara's older stepbrother was about to lash out at her, at their home, the front door was open, James intervened and it ended badly. An accident sealed with a lie that sent James to prison for 5 years.🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱 Then 4yrs later with the Steel Rebels.
9 years have now passed. Cara, now 21, works and lives at Chicago's Haven House for women and children dealing with domestic violence and or abuse. She's still dealing with her own past and trauma. Then one battered young lady is brought in who needs a doctor ASAP. That would be the MC's own personal doctor James Loxley 36. It came full circle for these 2.😬🫢 Cara recognized him instantly. Shame. Fear. What was she going to do? Did James recognize her? What do you think?😜😜 He noticed her big time!!😳 What will happen next??
🚩🚩 There's a lot of emotional and physical trauma, mostly off page, in this story. One character is caught in her own situation that plays out as well as Cara and even James, dealing with what had happened to them 9ys prior.🚩🚩
I felt bad for these characters. Theirs was not an easy situation. But life changed for the better. The writing is here, the plot, as complicated and twisted as it was, is also here. At it's core, it's an age gap naughty romance with 2 people trying to heal their past circumstances in order to move forward together. I like that there were conversations. A deep one with feelings and insecurities from both Cara and James. Most shorter books don't get too involved but this one did. I appreciate that. Fully developed. There's an understanding of the characters and what they want from each other. It's also steamy and spicy. Fast. Needy. They got right to it.hehe🤭😙😙😙🔥🥵🔥🌋🌋🌋💋💋💋
What I don't like is the Daddy kink.😨 I didn't know it would be a part of their relationship, or their story. It's not overly done but yeah... it's here. And James is a very driven, dirty talking, smack your backside, obsessed man with Cara. Not in a spooky and run away from danger type of way. I felt he was insanely in love.😂😂 It was in everything that he did. Everything. Cara was sweet and she found her inner strength to stand up on her own. But it was her surrendering to her desire and to James that moved her forward. However. I found instances that were weird for me. Aside from the Daddy label. Let me explain. When Dr James was helping to look over Abby, a victim of abuse, and noticing Cara, his s3xual thoughts and being turned on felt out of place considering he's tending to Abby's injuries from her partner. Uh. Not the place dude. Not the place.🙅🤦♂️ Wait till later. And considering that Cara has trauma, PTSD I'm sure, I didn't think turning her around after a frisky moment on the wall for 5 sp#nkings would bode so well. He didn't check in first. Is this okay? Do you want to give it a go? But Cara was turned on so I guess keep on going 🍑✋🏼 Daddy James.😭😭😭 James isn't prince charming, but a man who likes to take and loves to dominate.bahaha😝😝🫦
I still enjoyed the story. Despite the early heartbreak and painful sadness, love and healing can change anyone's circumstances. I liked James and Cara. I wonder about the next book about Abby and Ransom.🤔 Happy reading.*•>§<•*❤️🖤❤️🖤
👩🏫🏡🧑🏻⚕️Thank you to Ms Hart for an early book. The opinions shared here are my own.🧑🏻⚕️🏡👩🏫
At twelve, Cara was a girl trapped in a nightmare. Abuse. Fear. A desperate lie that sent the only man who ever protected her—Doc—to prison. Nine years later, she’s no longer that frightened girl. She’s working at a women’s shelter, helping others find safety and strength. What she doesn’t expect is to see the man her guilt has haunted for nearly a decade standing in front of her—alive, harder, and still the safest place she’s ever known.
Doc spent five years behind bars for doing the right thing and four more patching wounds and rebuilding his life within the Steel Rebels MC. He’s not the man he used to be—he’s tougher, scarred, and carries the kind of quiet pain that seeps into your bones. But when he sees Cara again, his instincts roar back to life. Protect. Provide. Possess. Because she may think she destroyed him, but the truth is, she’s the reason he survived.
What unfolds is a story of forgiveness, fire, and fierce love—the kind that grows from ashes instead of fairytales. Cara’s transformation is breathtaking: she goes from guilt-ridden and guarded to a woman who reclaims her voice and her power. And Doc? He’s the kind of hero you feel in your chest—alpha enough to growl, gentle enough to heal.
Hart weaves trauma and tenderness into something magnetic. The chemistry between Cara and Doc isn’t just heat—it’s history, heartbreak, and the kind of connection that feels carved by fate. Their love isn’t easy, but it’s earned, and every moment of vulnerability feels like a victory.
What I Loved: 💥 A heroine who refuses to stay broken. 💥 A protective alpha who carries his scars with grace. 💥 Found family, forgiveness, and fierce loyalty within the MC world.
Healed by Doc isn’t just a romance—it’s a reclamation. It’s about facing the ghosts of your past and realizing love can be the most powerful kind of freedom. It’s raw, redemptive, and real, reminding you that sometimes the people who walk through fire together come out stronger on the other side.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For readers who love: protective alphas with soft hearts, resilient heroines, MC brotherhoods that feel like family, and second chances that burn slow but heal deep.

She sent him to prison. Now he's back, and he's not letting go.
At twelve years old, Cara told a lie that cost a man his future. A man who stepped in when no one else did. A man she never stopped thinking about. Nine years later, she’s working at a shelter for women like her when he walks back into her life. He’s older. Harder. And somehow still the safest place she’s ever known.
Doc spent five years behind bars for something he doesn't regret. Four more building a life in the Steel Rebels MC, patching up wounded men and trying to outrun his own ghosts. But when he sees Cara again, the past doesn't just catch up, it hits full force. She’s not broken. She’s brave. And he’s not walking away from her twice.
Old danger creeps back with a familiar face, dragging buried truths to the surface. But this time, Cara isn’t a scared girl. She stands up, speaks out, and refuses to be silenced again. What begins as survival turns into something fierce and undeniable, a connection that neither of them expected but both are willing to fight for.
Cara grows from quiet and guilt-ridden to strong, outspoken, and unshakably kind. Doc evolves from a haunted soldier into the man she always needed, protective, steady, and soft only with her. Together, they rewrite the ending they were never given. What started in trauma becomes something healing, loyal, and entirely their own.
A steamy, instalove, age gap, ex-military MC romance wrapped in slow-burn tension, found family, and emotional grit. It’s about surviving what was meant to destroy you, taking back what was stolen, and choosing love that holds steady when everything else falls apart.
The Elevator Pitch: A gritty, emotionally charged romance about a man who went to prison protecting a girl no one else would save, and the woman she becomes when he returns. Their reunion ignites a bond forged in pain, trust, and undeniable heat as they face the past that nearly destroyed them. With a fierce protector, a resilient heroine, and a love that refuses to break, it delivers raw emotion, high stakes, and deep healing.
Nine years ago, Cara’s stepbrother attacked her after he found out she’d taken out the trash, with his drugs inside. The door to their home was open, and a man came in and saved her by punching the stepbrother, who then tripped on a beer can and fell, his head hitting a table and killing him. Her stepfather made her lie and say that the man attacked her stepbrother without cause, sending him to prison for five years.
Now, Cara works at Haven House, a women’s shelter that is owned by the Steel Rebels MC. And that man she put away? He’s been out for four years, and everyone now calls him Doc, as he is the doctor who helps out the women at the shelter. She’s sure he’ll recognize her and want to take revenge, but what she doesn’t know is that he never blamed her.
Once Doc (or James, as Cara knows him) realizes who Cara is, he’s immediately smitten. Okay, that’s an understatement, but you get the idea. He doesn’t want to traumatize her, but he also can’t stay away from her, so he takes things slowly, much to Cara’s chagrin.
This book does deal with very real situations, especially those of the victims of physical, emotional, and mental abuse. Yes, physical abuse is terrible, but mental and emotional abuse can’t be seen, and can often do more permanent damage. Doc, however, is never going to let anything happen to Cara again.
I really enjoyed this book. This one is a standout, which is quite a feat, since I’ve never read a book from this author that I didn’t like. I don’t usually cry while reading books of this nature, but the epilogue absolutely destroyed me in the best way. Overall, this is a steamy but beautiful story about healing and growth and love, and I couldn’t have asked for more.
An outstanding novella that brings two people together again years after they first met. They first met when he saved her from the abuse she was receiving. Years after they first met they meet again when he comes to a shelter to help a lady that’s hurt and she works there helping the women and children that come through the shelters doors. From the first moment the two looked into each other's eyes they started having feelings for one another even though she was worried that he would hurt her for what happened in their past. It takes them a while before they get closer, even becoming a bit intimate. During this time the man checks on the lady to make the lady is feeling better and so does the woman even though the lady has a guy keeping an eye on her. The man and woman take what they have to the next step even discussing what is going on between them. While getting donations for the shelter the woman comes face to face with one of her abusers but the man shows up before her abuser can hurt her more than what he has. The police show up and the abuser tries to get the man into trouble but others come to state how they were also abused by the abuser. The man takes the woman to his place where they’re intimate. Six months later the two are still together and the woman has moved in with the man. When she goes to work at the shelter she finds a baby who was abandoned. The woman is drawn to the baby and she automatically wants to keep the baby. The man comes to check on the baby’s condition. They discuss the baby and what to do to keep the baby with them. The man after talking about the baby asks her about marrying him, to which she agrees. They’re happy and in love. Forever.

Cara Dupree was abandoned by her mother when she was five years old. Her mother left her with her stepfather and stepbrother. It was a nightmare. She left as soon as she turned eighteen and managed to survive on the streets. The Steel Rebels MC converted an old gentlemen’s club into what is now known as Haven House, a women’s shelter. Cara is now twenty-one and she arrived at Haven House about four months ago. Samantha, who runs the place, gave Cara a job and place to live while she takes college classes.
A young woman stumbles into Haven House with multiple injuries. Saint, the President of the Steel Rebels MC brings Doc to check Abby out. Cara brings a bottle of water into the room for Abby but freaks out. Samantha takes Cara to the kitchen and gives her water. Cara tells her that she is the one who sent Doc to prison. When Cara was twelve, her stepbrother, Eric, treated her as a slave. After a party he threw, Cara dumped a bunch of trash before heading to school because she had a test. When she got home, Eric started yelling at her. Apparently one of the boxes Cara threw away had Eric’s drugs in it. He started beating Cara up. James Loxley aka Doc, saved her. He hit Eric. Eric slipped on a beer car and hit his head and died. Cara’s stepfather made her testify against James. She has felt guilty ever since.
Doc was a twenty-seven year old military field medic when the incident occurred. He spent five years in prison. He never blamed the innocent girl who was used as a pawn against him. He is surprised that Cara is standing in front of him. He thinks that she has become a stunning woman.
Definitely a complicated situation between Doc and Abby. I loved their interactions.

This is book seven in the author’s Steel Rebels MC series and features James, aka Doc, the club physician.
Convicted of causing the demise of a young man in the course of rescuing a child from being abused, he was sent to prison because of her false testimony. After being released, he joined the Steel Rebels MC when he came face to face with the girl, now grown. Thankful to see her safe, he knew he could never blame her but unfortunately, he was having a hard time convincing her of that.
Working at Haven House, a shelter for battered women supported by the Steel Rebels, Cara was shocked to see James as the physician there to see to an injured woman. She was terrified of the revenge he might take though she couldn’t really blame him, she knew she had ruined his life with her lies but she didn’t have a choice. Beaten and abused by her stepfather, with nowhere else to go, she gave in to his demands and did what she had to do in order to survive. Seeing him again years later, she felt bad enough… did he HAVE to be so hot and impossible to ignore?
This was a really good book, my only complaint is it just HAD to include a spanking fetish. So many authors are jumping on the bandwagon these days making it harder to just grab a book by one of your favorite authors and being able to count on what you’ll find. I know it’s a popular trope and a lot of people enjoy it, I don’t begrudge anyone that, I just wish authors were more transparent in their blurbs so we could decide if it’s something we want to read. I hate it because it was an otherwise awesome book but, for me, it gets 4 stars

Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Cara grew up in an abusive nightmare at twelve she didn’t tell the truth forced out of fear lie sending the only man who protected her to prison fast forward she is an adult gotten her life together somewhat together nine years later, working with the women’s shelter helping others to find safety, strength, their voice and their freedom from the nightmares. But what she wants most is to free herself from the guilt of the ghost that hunts her of sending an innocent man to prison for something he didn’t do often wondering how he was, what happened to him. Doc sexy as all get out Steel Rebel MC spent five years in prison as an innocent man for doing the right thing but he never blamed the little girl who put him there, then he spent years rebuilding his life with the Steel Rebels often wondered about the little girl he cared so much for and the pain he carries within of everything he has endured at the hands others. But the moment the two of them meet she as an adult, him as a free man the magnetic pull is there he still makes her feel safe, he still feels the need to protect her and she feels the need to apologize for the lie she was forced to tell that ruined his life but did he ruin his life or safe it, do they actually heal one another, do those who did the abusing get what they deserve, can they find their way to peace, acceptance, and a path to happiness?
**Healed by Doc** is the seventh book in the Steel Rebels MC series, and it’s such a delightful read! This instalove story really packs a punch, following the journey of Doc and Cara as they find their way to a happy ending. Their connection is just so intense and full of passion!
Cara has been carrying guilt since she was 12 years old, which stems from a situation that put Doc in prison for five years after he heroically saved her from her troubled family. But despite everything, Doc never regretted coming to her rescue. Now, 12 years later, Cara has become a strong and independent woman, working at a women's shelter to help others in need.
When Doc and Cara cross paths again, he’s not planning to let her slip away this time. He’s ready to do whatever it takes to keep her safe as her past threatens to catch up with her. Honestly, I didn’t want their story to end—it was so enjoyable! They are just perfect for each other! Their connection is instant, and it deepens as they both heal and grow together.
And can we talk about their chemistry? It's off the charts! Doc’s dirty talk and the added daddy kink bring such a spicy twist to their relationship. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough! I’m so excited to see what happens next in this series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Healed by Doc, Book 7 of the Steel Rebels MC series, is a raw, emotional, and absolutely captivating story that grips you from the very first page. Cassi Hart delivers another unforgettable ride filled with passion, redemption, and the kind of love that heals even the deepest scars.
Cara and Doc’s story is both heartbreaking and heart-mending. Their shared past—built on lies, sacrifice, and survival—makes their reunion explosive and deeply emotional. The chemistry between them is off the charts, but what truly stands out is how their connection goes beyond attraction. It’s about forgiveness, growth, and the power of second chances.
Doc is the perfect mix of protective alpha and broken hero. His loyalty and devotion to Cara made my heart ache in the best way. And Cara—strong, vulnerable, and brave—shows incredible courage as she faces the man she believes she wronged. Together, their journey from guilt and pain to healing and love feels beautifully earned.
The Steel Rebels MC world continues to impress with its mix of grit and heart. Cassi Hart balances the rough edges of an MC romance with tenderness and depth, making every story feel unique yet connected. Fans of morally gray heroes, “lite” MC vibes, and guaranteed HEAs will fall head over heels for this one.

I love these quick MC Novella reads! They bundle everything you need into an insta love novel with all the feels. And this one definitely ends on a high note! This is Doc AKA James (or Daddy, if your heart so desires ;) ) and Cara's story. After serving time for murder, Doc became a member of the Steel Rebels MC. Cara, after fleeing from an abusive step father lands on the door step of a women's shelter. A shelter that did more than help her heal, but also helped her to find a new life for herself. She never thought she would have to face the man who saved her from her abusive step brother, one she also helped to get sent to prison! When Doc and Cara face each other after so many years, he feels the shift in himself....Instant attraction, something he has never felt for another woman. Cara, frightened that he will blame her for ruining his life, tries to run and hide. So starts their story where they both feel that pull towards the other, where they both are unable to ignore it. Doc knows he needs to talk with Cara, but emotions always over ride common sense. All great romance stories have their bumps and twists and Doc's and Cara's is no different. Follow their journey as they overcome the odds and find love....and Oh what an ending!! You are going to love it!
This is the seventh book in the steel rebels MC series. It is not necessary to have read them all or to read them in order to enjoy this story. Each couples romance focuses as its own standalone however, characters from other stories and in the club do appear in subsequent stories so you get a better reading experience if you do read them in order. She has escaped a life of abuse and has taken refuge at the women’s sanctuary run by the club. She is starting to find her footing again and even looking forward to a future when everything changes. She sees him the man she betrayed who she is responsible for sending to prison. She is terrified to face him knowing what she’s done. When he walks in and sees her all grown-up, but the same vulnerability he recognizes he is immediately drowned to her. He doesn’t blame her for the past he made his own choices. But in her, he sees his future, but he just has to convince her that the past is the past. A sweet redemption story for both of them. They learned to find their place within the club and with each other, and once they let their guard down things get steamy. It seems they were always meant to reconnect and find their happily ever after.

Doc is an army field medic on leave, he's passing by when he hears a scream and what he sees sends his vision red! 1 punch that's all it took to take away his freedom but he doesn't regret it because what he saw was 12 year old Cara Dupree being beaten by her horrid step brother. Cara's step father threatens her life if she doesn't lie and say doc attacked his son unprovoked. Cara's testimony lands doc 5 years in prison. 9 years later Cara works at a women's shelter after having left her stepfather. Cara is helping a badly injured woman when the mc club who owns the women's shelters doctor comes in... yep that doc...she thinks he hates her but he doesn't he never resented Cara. Adult Cara is attracted to doc and he feels the same he keeps proving over and over that's she's safe with him he protects her from her stepfather he loves her with all he is and so does she.
Super sweet book, no third act break up. Was a really easy read.

This book grabbed me from the beginning, and I couldn’t put it down.
When Doc is called in to help someone who is hurt at the women’s shelter, he’s surprised to see Cara, who he hasn’t seen since all those years ago when he tried to help her. He doesn’t carry any ill will towards her, but when she looks at him she looks guilty or something.
When he finally gets the chance to talk with her, he lets her know that he never blamed her for anything she was made to do by the “adults” who were supposed to be taking care of her.
As they get to know each other better, they begin to have feelings for each other. And she begins to heal from all of the neglect she’s suffered through.
Towards the end, something special happens. Grab this book so you can find out what it is!
Another winning book by the incomparable Cassi Hart. If you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for? You are going to love this book!.

"I understand why you’re afraid of me, but I’m not going to hurt you. Ever.” “Won’t you?” I challenge, my voice is not as firm as I would like it to be. “No, Cara. I’ve never considered it.” Why not? I want to ask, even as my gaze drops from his. I ruined your life.
I really enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Doc and Cara. My heart hurt for both of them. Cara had been abused all her life growing up, and Doc saved her from being attacked by her stepbrother, who hit his head and died. Only twelve, Cara was forced by her stepfather to testify against Doc and he spent five years in jail. I could understand his bitterness and anger at a system who failed him, but I liked that he recognized Cara's situation and didn't blame her. Apart from her abuse, Cara felt guilty and had blamed herself all those years for sending him to jail. And feared he hated her or wanted revenge. The chemistry between them sizzled. The "Daddy" thing came out of no where and threw me off. 4 stars
Healed by Doc is the seventh book in Cassi Hart’s Steel Rebels MC series. This is an insta-love story starring a possessive daddy, great characters and an interesting storyline. It was written in first person from the point of view of both the heroine, Cara, and the hero, Doc.
James “Doc” Lowley’s life was irrevocably changed the day he stepped in to saved a very young Cara Dupree. He spent five years in prison and then found a family in the Steel Rebels Motorcycle Club. Nine years later when he sees her working at the local women’s shelter he is struck with the undeniable urgent to claim her as HIS. Will Cara and Doc get their happily ever after or will their shared past end things before they can even begin? Read it and find out!
Great addition to this amazing series. I can’t wait to read the Randsom and Abby’s story.

Healed by Doc is more than just another MC romance—it’s a story about redemption, forgiveness, and the healing power of love. Cassi Hart delivers a gripping mix of grit and heart that kept me hooked from the first page.
Cara and Doc’s connection runs deep, rooted in shared pain and second chances. Their reunion is emotional, their chemistry electric, but what really stands out is how both characters evolve through vulnerability and trust. Doc may be the tough ex-con and MC medic, but his protective, steady devotion makes him one of the most compelling heroes in the series.
This book balances steam with soul beautifully. It’s about facing the past, forgiving yourself, and realizing that love can be the strongest kind of medicine. A powerful, passionate addition to the Steel Rebels MC world—definitely one of my favorites.

This is another fab addition to the series and I loved seeing Cara get the love she deserves. After surviving a life of abuse and the guilt of a forced lie, Cara is now a social worker at a shelter helping gals escaping abusive situations. With the newest woman needing medical care, she's shocked when she sees the man she 'sent' to jail arriving to help heal her. Doc can't get over his surprise at seeing that little girl now a grown woman...and his connection to her. He's more than ready to follow that hot chemistry to a fab HEA with her but he has some work ahead. Poor Cara has PTSD and needs Doc's calm and caring to help her so she can have the full life, and love, she should have. Expect to feel the heat as they work through the drama, danger and trauma to get that happy ending. I'm really looking forward to the next book to see how Ransom's story unfolds. Good fun!
Cara had a very rough life as a child with her mother abandoning her with cruel stepfather and very abusive stepbrother at age 5. Then at 12, a stranger had to rescue her from being beaten by her stepbrother,Eric. Eric died by accident, but the stranger, James aka Doc, is tried and found guilty. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison and released after 5 years. Cara at 12 was forced by her stepfather to lie and state that the stranger killed Eric. Cara now works at the Women's Shelter owned and funded by Steel Rebels MC. An abused woman arrives at the shelter and the MC president is called bringing Doc. Image her shock! Will Doc want revenge or will he forgive her? What is Doc's reaction when he sees and recognizes her? Will she admit what she did at age 12? Does anything happen between them?.

Doc couldn't believe his eyes when he went to the women shelter and ran into a blast from the past. He had gone to prison on Cara's testimony as a young girl. She had been abused all her life and she regretted lying and putting Doc in prison. She never knew that he never blamed her and for her to run into him as he helped a new arrival who is in need of a doctor she was having a hard time on not panicking. This is so well-written as soon as you turn the first page you need to finish it. I was totally hooked from the beginning and loved every single moment of this story. This is a must read and I so can't wait to read the next one. Each and every book keeps getting better and better!!!!

Nine years ago, Cara’s drug-dealing stepbrother attacked her; a stranger (James) intervened, accidentally killing him. Her stepfather forced her to lie, sending James to prison for five years. Now Cara works at Haven House, a women’s shelter run by the Steel Rebels MC—where James, out for four years and now called Doc, volunteers as the doctor. She dreads his revenge, unaware he never blamed her. Doc instantly recognizes and falls for Cara but moves slowly to avoid scaring her. The story tackles raw abuse—physical, emotional, mental—with Doc vowing to protect her forever. Steamy, healing, and deeply romantic, it’s a solid read.

I'm not going to lie, I seriously cannot wait for the next story in this series! This book sucked me in from the start and never let go. They both have very different ways of looking at the same life changing event. She carries tremendous guilt over sending him to prison for a crime he wasn't guilty of. He never judged the young girl who was forced to lie about what she saw. When they meet again after she is an adult the can only deny their mutual attraction for so long. When their past comes back to haunt them, his protective instincts are in overdrive. She is his and nobody will threaten her. The end of this story is absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait to see what is next for this couple!.

“Then let’s be crazy together” The complexities of emotions, the traumas of the past, guilt, fear, strength, bring this story to life with every page turned. Cara and Doc (James) find one another again in the most unlikely of places nine years after a fateful event that forever changed the trajectory of both their lives. With forgiveness, chemistry hot enough to burn, and deep heartfelt soul binding love these two will finally be able to start a new chapter towards a brighter future. I love the Rebels MC and this doesn’t disappoint. "This is my honest review of an advanced reader copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily."
I love that Doc sees the bigger picture and has never blamed Cara, but instead has worried about her and searched for her. The chemistry they now have brings them together and whilst it is sizzling hot and delightfully dirty, it also allows them both to heal and to finally move on from the first time they met. These Steel Rebels men are wounded and damaged, but even broken they are still some of the best men you could ever meet and when they fall....they fall hard...forever. This is a great return to the series and I look forward to many more Steel Rebels to come. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
