The perfect book for fans of small town romance ❤️🍂🍎 Beatrice Norton is a country girl. Working on a farm by day and pulling pints at the Big Apple pub by night, her simple life suits her just fine.
Timothy Redgrave is city boy. Raised in luxury by acting royalty, he dreams of conquering the Big Apple – New York – and isn’t afraid to trade off his parents’ name to get there.
But fed up with his entitled attitude, his parents ship him off to his dad's childhood farm for a reality check. Tasked with showing Timothy the ropes, Beatrice finds herself stuck with man who can’t tell a pitchfork from a salad fork.
Despite their efforts to remain at odds, Timothy finds himself respecting the straight-talking farm girl and Beatrice wonders whether there’s more beneath his polished (and handsome) exterior. Can love bridge the gap between rural roots and big-city dreams, or will their hearts remain worlds apart?
Small town romance! 🚜Enemies-to-lovers ❤️Clean romance ✨
4.75🌟 I devoured this book! When I say devoured I mean I couldn't put it down and was up past 1am finishing it... oops.
Big Apple Farm, despite the name, is not an apple farm at all, nor is it in the 'Big Apple' that everyone knows of. This story centres around the trials and tribulations of a quaint British village with a pub at its heart, as all little villages here have!
The 2 main characters Beatrice and Arthur are narrated from dual perspective, which really gives you the chance to understand and sympathise with them more. They were both really likeable characters in my opinion which contributed to the easy read and the attachment to it.
Whilst there are a lot of fun, sarcastic and amusing moments throughout, this book also holds a deep undercurrent of grief. Both grief from physical loss, and grief for seeing the changes in those around them, especially for those with dementia. That being said, it's not a sad book on the whole and is heartwarming instead.
A must for fans of Megan Clawson, quaint countryside romances and forced proximity tropes as well!
Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for allowing me to read a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ This was a very cozy, heartwarming tale about never forgetting your roots and the comfort in knowing that you have a home in the community that’s raised you and wants to see you at your happiest. The found family was strong in this book and done so well that every single character in Lincolnshire, New York finds their way into your heart that you feel the love radiating from the pages ♥️
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ Arthur Cavendish discovers how his worth as a person doesn’t rely at all on who his parents are. Although initially a fish out of water, he learns to love the community of New York as his newfound family. He goes on a soul-searching journey that’s very satisfying to see as he grows to know the people who made up his father’s life and in turn, how they impact him and help him discover his own purpose. His conversations with his Nan that he never knew and his sister, Lizzie, were very sincere and well-done. His panic attack scenes were very heart wrenching and full of angst that I particularly enjoyed reading. There’s a lot of lessons that his Nan imparts on him and grief that he experiences with Lizzie, but they help him grow 🎬
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ Beatrice Norton is a “country bumpkin” who returned dejected from her failed dreams of making it in London, only for her to find out that she has always had the support of her loved ones and community around her no matter where she ended up because of how much they love her. Like Arthur, she feels a lot of grief after losing her best friend, Tommy and all the regrets she never got to say to him. Beatrice is a protective, hardworking person who is a large part of the community she loves and helps in every way she can. I loved getting to know her relationships with the locals at the Big Apple and how the closeness between all of them felt so warm and comfortable to read 🍎
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ The romance in this story was cute, although I don’t think it’s the main reason why I enjoyed this book. I liked seeing how Beatrice and Arthur first butted heads in the beginning and bantered constantly. Then they begrudgingly learned to trust the other, opened up to them, and fell in love which was nice to see. It felt like they really connected as part of their grief and the desire to make people around them proud when all they needed was to embrace the love of those around them and tell the stories of those who didn’t have a loud voice. I feel like the last 80%-90% kind of threw me off a little when Beatrice and Arthur had a fight, made up and went to the gala, and then had another fight not long after the first one? It felt like a little bit of whiplash and I thought the second fight would’ve been enough for the conflict near the end, but maybe it was just me.
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ Anyway, pick this book up if you’re looking for something cozy to read during autumn! It’s filled with hard topics like panic attacks, dementia and a soul-searching journey when things don’t always work out the first time, but so worth it with how it ties in to Beatrice and Arthur discovering that they were always worth it. They just needed to remember the love of those around them to believe it ❤️
What to expect: - Farmer FMC x actor FMC 🚜🏙️ - Forced proximity - Small town romance 🏡 - Mental health rep: Alzheimer’s, dementia, and panic attack rep 🧠 - Clean/closed-door romance 🚪 - Dual POV written in present tense
Thank you to Megan Clawson, Avon Books UK, and NetGalley for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for my honest review!
“There has always been something missing in my life. I thought it should be perfect, I should be the happiest man alive, but there was something not quite right, something I desperately needed, but I didn’t know what. I know now that that thing is you. You are my mind, my muse, and you are a f*cking wildfire. You have sent a spark through every dead part of me and set it ablaze and… and…”
Burnt out and carrying the weight of his family name has caught up with Arthur and he finds himself stepping away from the spotlight in the English countryside. Struggling creatively and unsure of the future, Beatrice is tasked with bringing Arthur alongside her as she tends to the farm and her quietly growing feelings for the new hired hand. Big Apple Farm is an opposites-attract, cozy romance novel that blends humor and heart with moments that renew hope in the power of patience, love, and found family.
Author Megan Clawson pulls readers into an emotionally grounded story centered on an unlikely connection between two souls who are familiar with the weight of familial expectations and the pressure to perform in a world that constantly demands more. I connected with Beatrice almost immediately, knowing well the feeling of life turning out differently than I expected. There’s a quiet, tender vulnerability in navigating a life that’s entirely different than what you pictured – especially when so many people thought you had such a bright future ahead of you. It’s easy to connect with Clawson’s characters and even easier to fall in love with her stories. She draws readers into the idyllic English countryside – a place you can’t help but daydream about. The quirky side characters only add to the charm of the story. Her writing feels transportive, like I was nestled at a dimly lit table in a quaint English pub.
Big Apple Farm is the kind of book best enjoyed with tea in hand on a quiet spring morning. I appreciated being able to settle into the story without feeling like the plot was rushing to get somewhere. This will resonate most with readers who value character-driven stories and transformation taking place within Arthur and Beatrice, as well as their undeniable romantic connection. It’s a story meant to be settled into. One that reminds you you don't have to travel the world to discover who you really are and one that invites you to slow down and feel each moment as it unfolds.
Thank you to AvonUK, NetGalley, and Megan Clawson for the delight of reading and review this book!
Holy smokes!!!! I absolutely INHALED this book. Megan is an absolute gift to the romcom genre; every single book I have read from her has made me love her writing more and more.
I honestly adored this story. I’m such a sucker for small-town romances AND for forced proximity. This gem of a book had everything you could need in a romcom. Laughter, heartache, and tears of absolute joy. My heart felt like it could burst more times than I can count. I adored both Bea and Arty immensely; they are so perfect for each other, it’s criminal. The way Megan built their characters and relationship had me on the edge of my seat!! I was screaming, crying, giggling, and kicking my feet— a true rollercoaster of emotions that is so rare to find in a novel.
Honestly? My heart is so full after finishing this book; it’s so hard to explain. Lizzie might just be my favourite character; I love her so much. She is such a blessing to Arthur in this novel and has a true heart of gold. Jimmy? I adore him. My heart is his. He is an angel, and I love his part in this novel so, so, so much; the ending was so beautiful it had me shedding tears (which, if you know me, is extremely rare). Barbara had me rolling on the floor at points, and Tracey had me literally looking and feeling like 🥹.
I feel like everything was wrapped up so perfectly in the epilogue, that I truly couldn’t ask for more. The setting of this small, loving, farm town made me want to move there instantly. The camaraderie of these characters actually broke my heart in the best way possible. They look out for one another and see themselves as family, blood-related or not. Wholesome is not even the word.
And where is my Arthur Cavendish? I feel I ask this question with all of Megan’s MMCs, but I am so serious.
Overall, this beautiful masterpiece has me feeling so warm and fuzzy inside I could honestly burst. Highly, highly recommend. Please do yourself a favour and read this novel as soon as you can!!!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Megan Clawson steals my heart again with BIG APPLE FARM. I wanted to pull on a vintage prom dress for the BAFTA watch party at the Big Apple pub. I could supervise (too much a city girl too get my hands dirty) Beatrice and Arthur's fighting-turn-flirting then report back to the village gossips. Clawson pours so much genuine love for home, romance, dreams, hard work, and a good life into every page. I didn't want this book to end.
Beatrice and Arthur are the classic country girl meets city boy loathe to love pairing. He's just been banished to his celebrity father's hometown to dodge a scandal, and she's hotly defensive of her quiet village and community. Their preconceived notions of each other's life takes time and patience to dissolve before they can see how they're more alike than different. This thawing of course happens after much farm shenanigans and with the well-meaning meddling of the town's eccentric denizens.
Beyond the romance, Clawson can always be trusted to give each character such emotional depth. Arthur may present as a nepo-baby living the charmed Hollywood life, but he carries hollows in his heart left empty by superficial social circles and detached family. Beatrice is the dreamer who views her return to town life after a stint as an up-and-coming screenwriter a failure and not hard earned life experience. They dig through the muck of their trauma and grief, maybe hose each other off (literally), to get a fresh perspective on the accomplishment that is surviving their hardest days. I'm going to carry Beatrice and Arthur in my heart always. They are such beautiful characters.
I highly recommend BIG APPLE FARM for readers who love the cozy fantasy of a small town romance looking for deep emotional connection to the cast of characters. Megan Clawson connects heart and home like no other in this brilliant story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Thank you AvonBooksUK for an advance copy to read and review.
This book was the definition of comfort reading. The kind you pick up “just for a chapter” and suddenly it’s 2am and you’re emotionally attached to fictional villagers.
Beatrice is grounded, hardworking, and deeply rooted in her small countryside world — splitting her time between farm work and serving drinks at the local pub. She’s practical, resilient, and refreshingly honest. Arthur, on the other hand, arrives straight from celebrity privilege, dripping in entitlement and bad decisions. Naturally, this goes down about as well as a tractor in a china shop.
When Arthur is sent to his father’s childhood village to learn some humility, sparks immediately fly — and not the romantic kind. Watching these two clash, soften, and slowly understand each other is genuinely satisfying. Their banter is sharp, funny, and heartfelt, and their chemistry builds in such a natural, believable way.
What truly elevates this story is its emotional depth. Beneath the lighthearted humour and cosy village charm, there’s a powerful exploration of grief, loss, and the slow ache of watching loved ones change. These themes are handled with real care and sensitivity, adding weight and authenticity without ever becoming heavy or overwhelming.
The dual narration gives real insight into both characters, allowing their vulnerabilities and fears to shine through. It makes their emotional journeys feel personal, relatable, and incredibly touching.
If you love:
Small-town romance
Forced proximity
Emotional depth with humour
Cosy countryside vibes
Slow-burn chemistry
…then this one deserves a spot on your TBR immediately.
Heartwarming, funny, tender, and quietly emotional — Big Apple Farm is the literary equivalent of a warm hug and a strong cup of tea. And yes, I absolutely want to move to this village now
A poignant, rural slow burn, with plenty of humour and chemistry! Beatrice dreams of being a screenwriter, but instead spends her days working on a farm and her evenings pulling pints. Arthur comes from a distinguished family of actors, but feels like he isn't good enough. When an altercation with a frenemy goes viral, Arthur's parents decide to send him out of London and the public eye until the dust settles. Arthur's looking forward to a break in New York, some shopping, sightseeing and some downtime. However... he isn't getting on a plane, he's heading up north to New York, Lincolnshire, the complete opposite to the "Big Apple" that he was expecting. It's a culture shock for Arthur who manages to offend most of the village within a few hours of being there. And when he realises he'll be spending his days working on the farm with Beatrice, he feels completely out of his depth. Beatrice has no intention of making Arthur - the prodigal grandson - feel welcome. But as they get to know each other, she realises that there is more to him than his well bred, slightly awkward exterior. Beatrice and Arthur bond over their shared love of film and begin to work together on a project that gives them both the opportunity to dream, to heal and to fall for each other. But when Arthur's summoned back to the city, will he choose Beatrice, or his cushy celebrity life? An all star cast of characters, a cosy romance and a pair of lead characters who are complex, multi faceted and learning to love again.
Thank you Avon Books UK for offering exclusive access to this book on NetGalley! I’m deeply appreciative and overjoyed to have received this privilege!
Megan Clawson strikes again! This was such a wonderful and emotionally raw read. From experiencing long days on the farm together to a kiss in the rain, you can’t help but fall in love with the protagonists of this book! The opposite dynamic between Beatrice Norton and Arthur Cavendish, the country girl and city boy, was brilliantly written! They have such unique, loveable characteristics, and so does the lovely community of New York, Lincolnshire! The novel centres around this community, who all contribute to the village in their own special way. At times I felt like I was actually sat in the Big Apple pub listening to all of their stories - a skill Megan Clawson has mastered and presented throughout all of her books!
Additionally, whilst being a beautiful, charming romance, the narrative explores the complexities and navigation of grief and anxiety. However, the novel embraces the theme of celebration to commemorate those who have passed and those suffering dementia. Overall, this was a heartwarming read, I highly recommend! It’s a beautiful reminder to enjoy life to its fullest and celebrate the family, whether blood-related or not, around you.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this fabulous book.
Firstly where to start! This is the fourth of Megan’s books I have read and it was an absolute treat.
Big Apple Farm follows the story of MMC Arthur Redgrave son of super talented actor parents. He lives in their shadow and no matter how hard he tries or what he does - he is viewed as a troublesome Nepo baby. After an altercation at the BAFTA’s his Father sends him to New York to lie low and learn some life lessons.
Only it’s not New York USA it’s New York in Lincolnshire. This is the hometown where his mega successful Father grew up.
Enter our FMC Beatrice Norton barmaid and hard working farm hand for Arthur’s grandmother.
The story then follows how Arthur- although first impressions to the village are not good- builds a beautiful relationship with Beatrice. They start to trust each other and we learn both of them are hiding some really sad demons.
I won’t spoil what these are but Megan’s writing handles some pretty hard subjects beautifully and with such care.
This is such a touching story and I absolutely 100% recommend this book. You will find the journey these two characters go on so moving - I was sad to finish it!
Please ensure you grab a copy and also Megan’s other books they too really are a joy to read or listen too.
This was such a beautiful read, oh my gosh I’m so emotional right now.
Big Apple Farm is everything but The Big Apple farm. It’s a tiny town in Lincolnshire and there’s no Apple farms in sight, it’s a quaint village with a whole of character.
Beatrice and Arthur are loveable characters, they both have their own hangups and equally sad moments in their lives which make you just want to hug the heck out of them.
Their first meet was interesting to say the least but even if neither would admit it there was an instant connection. They’re so similar in ways and different in others but their passion for what they want to achieve is strong.
They truly were fascinating characters. Their sarcastic swipes and banter had me laughing away but there’s a deeper more heartbreaking feel to their story too, a bit of heartache and grief is in there but even with that the book is fun and heartwarming.
Megan is truly an amazing author who brings her characters and their story to life so easily you’d think you were stood right beside them experiencing everything with them. It was absolutely brilliant and I had so much fun reading it.
I’ve come to enjoy reading Megan’s books and this was no different, I devoured it as quickly as possible always needing to know what was going to happen next. I can’t wait for more books from this author.
Megan Clawson has become one of my favorite authors over the last few years. And I'm excited to say that her latest book, "Big Apple Farm" does not disappoint. Unlike her previous novels, this book is not a royal romcom. Although there is royalty of a different sort, Arthur Cavendish, the son of "Hollywood royalty" Eddie Cavendish.
The book began a little slow, but once I was able to get into Art and Bea's heads, I was all for their slow-burn enemies to lovers romance. As with Clawson's other novels, "Big Apple Farm" is told from a dual POV.
I loved being taken to Lincolnshire and visiting a corner of the UK I've rarely read about. The imagery and characters crafted by Clawson are as always supremely well done. It makes one feels like they're stepping for in New York, Lincolnshire.
I loved that this novel took on the issue of mental health although I do wish a little more of the book had been devoted to Art's sister, Lizzie.
Nevertheless, it was still a fun read and great way to kick off my spring TBR.
4.5/5 stars
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for an advance review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Arthur Cavendish is a “Hollywood” nepo baby living in his father’s shadow. When his parents decide it’s time to get his act together, they send him to New York, without mentioning the fact they mean New York, Lincolnshire. Beatrice Norton has lived in New York most of her life, and isn’t about to let some city boy walk all over her.
Think The Hannah Montana movie, but set in England.
This was a super cute, fast read. I loved the town and all the side characters. It took a while for me to be gripped by the story, but once they start to fall for each other I couldn’t put it down. The romance was incredibly sweet and heartwarming.
———-Mild spoiler———— I didn’t understand why everyone just forgave Edward, in my mind he didn’t do anything to warrant the “redemption” he got other than showing up in New York. This would have been more powerful if there had been some sort of conversation between Arthur and his dad.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

This is my first book by this author and I genuinely loved it. I love small town romance stories and this didn't disappoint. Bea and Arthur's characters were the typical initial hate relationship that would grow in to a love like no other. The story is written from both perspectives and helps you really understand how each of them are feeling.
Bringing two worlds together is never easy, but seeing it through their individual eyes really helps bring the story to life and give an added depth to their stories.
For me, the main character is Jimmy. I fell in love with him and his struggles. The way Arthur helped him, and the way everyone loves him made my heart melt. He got everything he deserved and more.
I would have liked a bit more on Eddie Cavendish at the end and the reasons behind him leaving and never returning, but as it wasn't his story I haven't marked my rating down for this. Who knows, a sequel might happen!

This was pure comfort read: warm, cozy, and quietly emotional.
Set in a charming Lincolnshire village, the story follows Bea, a practical farm girl, and Arthur, a spoiled celebrity son completely out of his element. Their forced proximity and clashing personalities kick off a fun enemies-to-lovers arc, with witty banter and a slow, believable shift into something deeper. Bea is strong and easy to admire, while Arthur’s growth really stands out as he sheds his entitled exterior. The dual POV works well, giving insight into both their struggles and making their connection feel genuine.
Beyond the romance, the book gently explores heavier themes like grief and mental health, adding depth without losing that soft, feel-good tone. The small-town setting, lovable side characters, and community vibe make it all the more heartwarming.
Overall, a sweet, low-spice romance that’s perfect when you want something relaxing, uplifting, and full of charm.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK | Avon for the ARC.
There’s something so special about reading a book set in your own local county, and Big Apple Farm had my attention straight away for that reason alone. As someone from Lincolnshire, I was immediately drawn in and Megan Clawson perfectly captures the true essence of the community here. The kindness, the way people help people, and that comforting small-town spirit felt so authentic. 🏡✨
And the potholes! 😂 I have never felt more seen.. Lincolnshire potholes are no joke.
Beatrice keeps her guard firmly up, so watching Arthur slowly break those walls down was such a joy. Their first meeting is hilariously awkward (we’ve all been there), and moments like Arthur helping Jimmy completely melted my heart 💛
A charming, heartfelt coming-of-age story full of warmth, community spirit and characters you can’t help but root for. It left me with the loveliest cosy feeling 🍏📖
Loved this book so much. Beatrice works on a farm after coming home from London. She’s lost her sparkle and keep s her head down working herself into exhaustion. Living in a tiny hamlet called New York at a pub called the big apple she is just getting by. Arthur is the son of a movie actor who comes from said tiny hamlet. One unfortunate incident at the BAFTAs that mistakenly looks like Arthur has been using drugs gets him sent to live with his Nan that he has never met. Beatrice is tasked with setting him to work. They clash but Arthur is determined to not just be a nepo baby and to prove himself. Once they bond they find they are similar and a friendship is formed. This was a great book. Full of warmth, self doubt, fun, love and hope. Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
This is a small town romance, dual POV with a city boy and small town girl. It is a slow burn and clean so if you want smut go elsewhere. If you want a very cute hallmark style movie but in book form stick around. Timothy is a NEPO baby who come from acting royalty when he gets some bad PR his parents send hime to the big apple. Not big apple USA, big apple small village in the UK.
I loved the village community and personalities and if anything this book was more about how he falls in love with village life. The book also represents panic attacks and memory loss really well and doesnt just use them as ways to move the story forward, but makes it part of the story.
I personality would of liked more of the romance developing between Timothy and Beatrice.
I absolutely loved Big Apple Farm! This is such a warm, uplifting opposites-attract romance with heart, humour and plenty of charm.
Beatrice is a hardworking farm girl content with her simple life, while Arthur is a privileged city dreamer suddenly forced into muddy boots and early mornings. Their banter is brilliant, the chemistry builds beautifully, and Arthur’s character growth is especially satisfying to watch unfold.
As a Lincolnshire lass living not too far from where the book is set, it was so refreshing to read something that felt so local and familiar. The countryside setting really came to life for me — I could picture it all so clearly. I might be slightly biased because of that, of course!
A cosy, feel-good romance that left me smiling — an easy five stars from me.
Big Apple Farm by Megan Clawson was my first book by this author, and I found it to be an enjoyable British small-town romance.
The story follows a movie star’s son who is sent to his father’s hometown to lie low, where he reconnects with family and meets the locals. It has a classic fish-out-of-water setup, with a slower pace and low spice. The love interest, his grandmother’s farmhand who was a writer, adds to the cozy, small-town feel.
One thing to note is that the title feels a bit misleading. It has nothing to do with New York City. There is a joke in the book that explains it, but paired with the cover, it can be a little confusing at first. Overall, this was a light, easy read with a charming setting and familiar romance elements.
Artie Cavendish is the son of the renowned actor Eddie Cavendish and when he supposedly shames his family, he's sent right back to his father's roots in New York....but not that New York...New York Lincolnshire. Artie is thrown into a life he has no idea about and learns things he didn't know about his father too.
This is a little love story; similar to Clawson's other books, it's a very natural, real feeling story with a bit of Hollywood glamour/rom com thrown in. The characters are likeable, the plot pootles along nicely and it's a nice read. Not a groundbreaking one, not an unhappy one...just a nice one to enjoy!
How cute is this front cover! Absolutely adore it. I was drawn to this book by this cute front cover and when I started reading it I was not disappointed. Loved Arthur and how he had a completely different outlook of his life and his future when arriving back in his dad’s hometown, from when he was a child. Beatrice is a fierce, independent and caring woman who I loved from the get go. Became a little dreary towards the end and I found myself a little disengaged a little But after a few chapters I began to enjoy it again right up until the end😍 brilliant read. Thank you NetGalley for my ARC copy of this lovely book♥️

Big Apple Farm was such a delight to read. I loved how well the characters were written. I could imagine every emotion they were experiencing. We have a strong, independent, farm girl FMC and a Hollywood royalty MMC. They are total opposites, but when they clash amazing things happen. There's humorous banter, found family, and forced proximity. I haven't been to England, but I could definitely picture the setting with the detailed writing. I recommend this book if you are looking for a no spice, small town romance.
Thank you Avon Books UK, Megan Clawson, and Netgalley for Big Apple Farm eARC.
I enjoyed the way this book highlights the importance of small towns and the stories they hold. The setting and sense of community were some of my favorite parts.
That said, I felt the story could have gone deeper. I would have liked to learn more about the characters and their backgrounds, as some ideas were introduced but not fully explored.
Overall, it was an entertaining read, though there were moments when I felt I could easily put the book down. A good concept, but I personally wanted a bit more depth.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
What an adorable five-star read. This one is just so lovely you can’t help but love Beatrice, she is just wonderful, she has battles that she faces, but an inner strength that shines through and the most adorable grandparents. Arthur is one that surprised me, my thoughts on him swapped back and forth so much. My heart broke for him at times, but then at others my heart soared at the sweet, sweet ending. This really is a great story and one that will make me smile for a long time after I finish reading it, much likes this authors other stories, I cant look at a Beefeater and not smile.
Firstly, thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.
As someone who lives in Lincolnshire near to New York, this book was even more special to read. Bea is a country girl, who left for London, but came back to Lincolnshire. Arthur is the son of a famous actor, who was born and raised in New York, Lincolnshire. He is sent to New York, thinking it would be America, gets the shock of his life when he arrives in the flats of Lincolnshire. This is a book of discovery and finding out their place in life.
I loved the book, especially the references, the blue "Smurf house" IYKYK!
Country girl meets city boy in an enemies to lovers trope. This has all the feels of a good old fashioned English Romcom. It could be Notting Hill but set in a small Hamlet New York Lancashire.
Arthur and Beatrice make an unlikely couple in the beginning but as you discover about their pasts they have more in common than they first realised.
This particular line I thought summed the book up beautifully. "Never be afraid of a memory. Even if turned sour, it was once sweet, and was once a reason for you to smile."

Arthur is sent to New York after shaming his famous parents. But New York in Lincolnshire., where his dad grew up! Artie is a town boy having to work in the family farm with Beatrice.
Beatrice is back in town from London, in her grand parents house. She works two jobs. The story shows real feelings, real friendship and connection with different people.
Their story is a force proximity, enemies to lovers, slow burn.
Thank you Avon Books UK, NetGalley and the author for the advance copy of the book.
Wanted to love but fell flat early on, I ended up DNFing after many reattempts but struggled with the writing and connecting with the characters from the jump. There needed to be more time spent on building the world, growing the characters are whole people and many starts of plots/storylines that just simply weren’t finished.
Thank you to Netgalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review!
Megan has once again written an absolutely beautiful story. And this one is set only an hour away from me! I loved every minute of my time with Beatrice and Arthur. Watching him go from city boy to farmer and Beatrice find her love for film making once again was wonderful to read. Sometimes all you really need is a small village pub and a hoard of residents who know your business better than you to find your way back home and to what’s important
This was a sweet story, with characters that seemed like real people, dealing with real issues. I enjoyed the small town vibe and loved the relationships between everyone. Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books UK for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
