This book was amazing I couldn’t put it down it part of a series called heirs of elydor.

This addictive and fated romantasy read is perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Quicksilver, Fourth Wing and When the Moon Hatched.

Blurb

She was the one line he swore he’d never cross. Now she’s the only one who can save him.
Marek spent years running from a past that still haunts him, and for an immortal, that’s a hell of a long time. But when an ancient power rises from the ocean’s depths, he’s forced back into the one place he swore he’d never return. And into the arms of the only woman he ever loved.

Lady Isolde has built her life on control. . . of her lands, her legacy, and the feelings she buried the day a dashing Thalassarian captain disappeared. When he returns, asking for her help to retrieve the legendary Wind Crystal, she agrees, even knowing it could destroy her all over again.

The sea is rising. War is coming to Elydor. And the only thing more dangerous than the mission ahead is the passion between Marek and Isolde that never really died.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book. I truly appreciate it!

I loved this book so much! It's got to be my second favourite right behind the first in this series and its completely stolen my heart! I was so excited to be able to read Marek's story and to find out it would be with Issa! Talk about utter giddiness kicking in! Reading about their past and watching their story bloom again was breathtaking! They're both so utterly perfect for each other! Their adventure for the wind Crystal kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!

That ending though! I loved it! It was nothing short of everything I was begging to have happen and so much more! The descriptions for everything and everyone are so captivating it's like watching what you're reading happen live before you eyes! If there was one world I could ever visit it would be this one! I wish I had my own way through the gate to there I would never leave!

Having all of our friends back together on and off throughout this book though I loved those moments so much! It felt like having the whole family back together. Which is exactly what this book and this whole series gives you. Family. As soon as you enter this series and this book you feel like you're home! You feel like no matter what happens whether good or bad that you're not alone and you'll make it through it all with them by your side! Well there was a lot of sitting on the edge of my seat as so much happens there's still so much peace and joy that comes from being back in this world and I can't thank the author enough for giving this feeling to me!

Well I'm so sad to know this is the second to last book in this series, I can't wait for the next one! I need to see how it all will end.

Thank you so much again from the bottom of heart for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book! I truly appreciate it so much! I loved it so much and I can't wait to bring 'Fate of Echoes and Embers' home to the rest of its family!

Oh boy. Issa and Marek have a history. But whatever you do, DO NOT BRING IT UP! Issa is desperate to forget everything that Marek once meant to her.

🌶️🌶️/5

Pretty much right at the beginning of the story, we realize that Marek's reason for breaking Issa's heart was lame. His friends tell him it's lame, even he knows it's a weak excuse to not be with her. The only one who is unaware is Issa herself. Hence why she spends a lot of time hating/crushing on Marek as they make the journey to the Maelstrom Depths. Turns out, the woman who was forced to assume responsibility Hawthorne Manor at a young age relished the new adventure and rediscovers the freedom she could once only associate with Marek. Of course, she won't tell him that. And Marek knows, it's up to him to make things right. This is a quick romantasy that will have you stressing over a perilous journey and a will-they won't-they tension that you can't wait to break. Pick up this book if you like romantasy, a daring adventure to find the illusive Wind Crystal, a virgin FMC, travelling by ship, he's in love with her and she hates him tropes, risking your heart - and your life- for love.

Favourite quote from Marek:
"I'd lived more than a hundred and fifty years... escaped death... foolishly loved... had adventures that still made my heart sing when I thought of them... but nothing had ever tempted me more than my desire to reach forward and tuck an errant strand of Issa's hair behind her ear."

Thank you Boldwood Books and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Fate of Echoes and Embers is a fantasy romance set in a world that is linked to our world. There are immortal people there and also humans, both of whom seem to be able to use and manipulate some kind of magic. This is the third book in the series and while there are references to previous stories and some kind of ongoing story arc, this didn't diminish my enjoyment.
Marek and Isolde have met before, but when his stirring feelings for him became overwhelming, he ran away, thinking that he would never see her again. Now they are back in one another's lives. I liked this growning relationship and romance between these two and I think it balanced well with the rest of the story that was going on.
I would be interested in reading more, but I think I'd have to go back and read the first two books first.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Going into this book, I knew that from the cover and even the name gave me the sort of romantasy vibes I always end up loving and I wasn’t left disappointed.

When I signed up for this ARC I hadn’t realised this was book number 3 in the series and as such the beginning was definitely a little more difficult to get into than other books, because I was missing context, I was missing the links to characters that had clearly been the focus of the first two books. However, once I got into the story, I was hooked. I liked how it wasn’t following the usual enemy to lovers tropes so many other romantasy’s use and instead was more of a second chance romance. There was a lot of world building, which considering the lack of context I had was what I found tricky, but you can tell that Mecca has weaved an intricate world with magic lore and characters that you could wholeheartedly imagine existed.

The love story between Issa and Malek is sweet and believable, there are some good twists and turns, but what I did miss was the sense of danger. It struck me as a book that would certainly have a happy ending and I wasn’t disappointed. To say it was predictable is a little harsh, but it’s most certainly a comfort. I never once
suspected that our main characters would actually come to harm even though it talked about the possibility a lot. This could have been something that was added to make the stakes that much higher and to leave the reader really questioning whether it would end happily ever after, but that’s just my personal preference as a reader. I love being floored by a twist and appreciate not every book will have that.

I am definitely intrigued to read the rest of the series now and await the next book. So if anything this book has annoyingly grown my tbr list 😂

This is book three in this series

Although I think you could read this one before the other books, I think it would be better enjoyed if you at least read book one first. You need to at least have some background to what happened previously in the series.

This is set in the fictional, magical world of Elydor which is linked to our world But the gate between the worlds have closed. They are now searching for a way to re-open it.
This book is amazing – I had trouble putting it down. The way it is written and descriptions etc make you feel like you are right there with them. Love the characters.

I will eagerly await the next book.

I received a free copy of this book and freely and honestly leave my review.

This book was intense and exhilarating. Issa and Mareks story will grip you right from the start. You will be immersed in their world. There is lots of intrigue and action to keep you engrossed. I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book.
