The dragons on Mistveil Island are not your run-of-the-mill kind. They’re something else entirely…
In an attempt to escape Draig Island and my duties as Tribute–whatever those might be–I steal a helicopter.
Probably not the best idea since I’m still learning how to become a helicopter pilot. I thought I had enough hours under my belt to be able to pull it off.
Turns out that I was wrong!
I crash land. I don’t think I’m on Draig Island anymore. I’m deep inside a dark jungle. At least I’m not too badly hurt. I’ll regroup and then hike to civilization. Please let there be civilization!
I’m a little worried about wild animals, but I’m sure I’ll be okay. I refuse to believe in the existence of dragons. I mean, come on! Do they really think we’re that gullible?
It hasn’t been more than a few hours, and a huge hulk of a man comes crashing out of the undergrowth. He’s naked, covered in tattoos, and scares the living daylights out of me. After a little while, I realize that he’s not going to hurt me. At least, I don’t think he will.
Then I find out that there are many more like him in this jungle. The others are not as friendly. They all want me. Will do anything to get me, including ripping each other apart. All I have is this big, growly stranger for protection. He’s willing to help me get to safety…
But he has a condition.
This story contains mature themes/language. Also, be prepared for a ton of growls, dirty talk and a hard-won HEA. Hulking, skulking, foul-mouthed, brooding dragons ahead. You were warned!

3.5 stars! I've been waiting on tenterhooks to find out what happened to Octavia after she fled Draig Island, so of course I picked this one up as soon as I realised it had been released. We all knew it was never going to be as easy as her commandeering a helicopter and successfully making it home on her first attempt, but honestly, meeting Creed is no shoddy consolation prize, so it all came up roses for her in the end.
Red Fire is the fifth exciting book in The Dragon Tributes series.Kidnapped and bullied into something she doesn't want. While each book can be read as a standalone, it’s best to read them in order to fully appreciate all the paranormal alpha goodness and delicious darkness they offer. Nobody can refuse to be a Tribute but nobody knows what exactly a Tribute is. There are many layers to get to be a tribute but each layer is not shared until you pass each test. Now they just have to stay alive. But what if the worst thing is not on this island? I love the adrenaline rush that comes from strong, sexy alpha males in protective mode paired with their mates.
Red Fire gives us the story about the Tribute that leaves Draig in a helicopter🚁 at the beginning of this series and what becomes of her🥹
Octavia thinks the stories about dragons existing are ridiculous and decides to leave the island and get back home as quickly as she can. Unfortunately, she soon finds herself upside down in a helicopter that she commandeered and “men” after her😳 Creed takes it upon himself to help the tiny female human out, but knows that amongst the feral dragons on the island, they might not make it back to civilisation. But they’re going to give it a try anyway.
Loved Octavia and Creed together and I can’t wait to find out more about the Mistveil Dragons🐉 I received an advanced copy with my honest review and recommend you jumping into this series if you like sexy dragon shifters❣️
OMG !! Creed and Octavia’s story was well worth waiting for ! If you’ve read the other books in the series ( and you really should ), you know Octavia ran from Draig Island believing that Dragons weren’t real and while piloting the stolen helicopter, she crashes on Mistveil island and meets Creed . Their adventures in trying to get to the city and keep Octavia safe from the other dragons is epic ! Fights for their lives abound . The characters are engaging and you really root for them to make it. The sex is hot . The whole story just works ! 5✨’s . I received an ARC from the Author and am choosing to leave this review .
Simply captivating read, wonderful characters and a plot that will hold you riveted. This was a simply wonderful addition to the series and I have to say that I was totally drawn into the story and I found it impossible to put down until I reach the end and discovered the outcome and was left looking forward to future books by the wonderful author Charlene Hartnady. Octavia had escaped the island and I had been looking forward to discovering what had happened to her after she had escaped Draig, the helicopter that she had taken had crashed into the jungle on Mistveil a forest and land that was so much darker and sinister than the island lands of Draig. Fortunately for Octavia she had been found by Creed and they are jointly trying to return to the city and return to the relative safety of her home, although she is unsure if this will ever be a safe place for her since she had run from her possible position as a Dragon Rider. I loved the interaction between Creed and Octavia and I found the care and compassion Creed had shown to her without any strings attached really heartwarming, he had made her aware that he wanted nothing more than her to feel safe again, away from the island and free of the pressure and trials and pressure she had been living under. I guarantee that you will be captivated by this wonderful read and the interaction between the character there are written so beautifully and you will be left looking forward to the next book in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
I don't know about yall, and not shade on our Draig dragons, but these Mistveil dragons are winning 👌🏾! I, for one, am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Creed and Octavia were adorable! He was a hero, not an Alpha-hole, which made him even more endearing. He was brokenhearted and out of practice to the point he couldn't see what was right in front of him... Hartnady did not disappoint 👏🏾.
I noticed we got away from the political and back to the romance and while I still want to know WHO is pitting these 2 clans against each other, I am not mad at it at all.
There was sooo much going on in the 1st few books I forgot about Jen! 🤦🏾♀️ So I am ready for this enemies to lovers story!
An absolute amazing story! Well worth the wait to find out what happens to Octavia after she escapes Draig. This was such an exciting story that I couldn’t put down! After crashing the helicopter in the jungle on Mistveil, Octavia gets rescued by Creed. They have their work cut out for them trying to get her to the city to get back home! These were such great characters and really balanced each other out amazingly well! Both were so stubborn and protective! I was captivated from beginning to end! Fantastic storyline that pulled you right in and made you feel like you were right there! Both MC’s were awesome but I absolutely adored Creed! Very enjoyable and exciting read and I very highly recommend! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book
Wish the summary warned me about how much they’re gonna talk about their EX. Especially for the hero. Buzz kill for me 😩
Sex was hot but not worth reading pages of how much hero loved his ex girlfriend and how dragon shifters share mates blah blah blah. NO. 🤬
I stopped at chapter 21 and skipped to last chapter cause I needed closure and ugh… hero meet the ex gf and realizes he doesnt love her and loves the heroine….which doesn’t really make it less frustrating. (Ex gf waited for hero to come back from exile)🤦🏻♀️
Neither are virgins. No cheating. Human woman x dragon shifter man Lots of push and pull…. 🤦🏻♀️
Oh also -1 ⭐️ “…. then I plunge into her tight heat with one hard thrust.”
Octavia is in trouble the helicopter that she stole is going down on an island and in a jungle and if it’s the island she thinks Boy is she in trouble Creed hears the crash he had to get their before the others but he wasn’t fast enough now he has to get the female away from this guy because he’s crazy and could hurt her. He knocks him out and now he has to hide her back at his cabin he covers her in soot from the fireplace before the other show up. Crazy dragon shifters that are starving for female is just bad. Now the have to escape. So enjoy another good read!!
This is book five of the tributes and the lead female is Octavia. She stole a helicopter from the dragon rider’s island and was trying to fly home. However, instead she flew and crashed on Mistevail. Octavia is in major trouble because she landed in the forest side of the island instead of the populated area with the Royal Family. Octavia is smart and so she starts to plan how she can get help. Unfortunately for her there are feral dragons in the forest. Who will aid in her rescue? Read On!
There is a lot that happens in this book and it is intense. It was hard to get into the romance part because it felt like something was missing. Things would move forward only for the character to try to explain it away. Like a positive always followed by a negative. The character should have explained and instead showed unease or something. The FMC was really immature. There were some great villains though, extra evil. The enthusiasm meter on this series dropped again after this book, but the overall story is good so it’s on to the next one.
This is the penultimate book in the series & I'm really enjoying the switch to the Mistveil Dragons so that we get a different perspective on the way they live compared to the Draig dragons. Octavia stole a helicopter to escape Draig after not believing that there are actual dragons & she did not want to be a Tribute if it turned out there were dragons. She thought she would pilot it home but instead crashed into Mistveil where not only are there more dragons but the ones in the forest are feral and/or outcasts. She very soon finds out it is a far more dangerous place for her to be but luckily Creed finds & rescues her. This starts a whole new turn of events as he tries to get her back to civilisation. This is a great fast paced read that gives a much better understanding of the differences between the dragons and sets the scene for a final book
This book was the best, it has more information on the other island, and we get to see some of the ruling order there, the city manipulation, the lies, the reality of dragons, etc.
I still think that for 5 books the storyline is slow, and I don´t know if the author is going to end the whole plot of why there is a division between dragons and humans, or if the attention and focus are only on the different couples.

I have enjoyed reading this series.. This book was hard for me to get through, I almost skipped entirely, due to the fact that the main female character is one I have never liked throughout the series. When it looked like she was "lost" my thoughts were goodbye to bad rubbish. I enjoy these quick reads and the book was good. But I couldn't get into this one due to my opinion of the annoyance of her character.
Loved Creed and Octavia's story. Octavia was a bit prickly when she was in the previous books so I was a bit skeptical about her having a story. However this story showed a different side of her that was more enjoyable. I absolutely loved Creed he's a sweet thoughtful guy who you just can't help but fall in love with. I'm looking forward to reading what's next in the series
Absolutely loved it. I’ve been desperate to find out what happened to Octavia and finally we have the answer. Creed was an amazing hero and I loved his back story of why he was in the jungle. As always things got a bit tense and close to the wire but trust always brings the HEA. I’m still thoroughly enjoying the series. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
I loved this book. Finally, we find out what happened to Octavia and get to meet a male red dragon. Creed is a good man but did a bad thing. He was banished to the jungle. Octavia is stranded in the jungle and Creed protects her from the feral males. We learn not all red dragons are bad. It opens up a whole new world now that we are meeting dragons on Mistveil. I can't wait to read the next book!
I really enjoyed Octavia and Creed's story! This book takes you back in time from the previous book to discover what happened to Octavia after she stole the helicopter! She is a bit...prissy (not sure if that is really the right word I am looking for). Creed is a perfect fit for her! I love the action and spice that occur after her and Creed meet! Sure a fun read! I can't wait for book 6!
This was really exciting and I sat on the edge of my seat! This was a great read and so interesting. ML was awesome and very sexy, FL was beautiful and strong. I was so intrigued on how he had to travel through the jungle and fight all those Male shifters! Really great storyline. So impressed with all the twists and turns. Totally recommend!!!
Loved this book! It was both adorable and moving. Charlene does a great job of taking you through the internal struggles each character has and helps you through their growth. Great read!
Lovestruck strikes again ... this was a great tale of overcoming odds to be together. This couple had to pull their heads out of their behinds to realize they were meant for each other.
Good follow up to previous books. Love the characters and the book is fast paced from the start. The ending feels a little rushed but I loved it. I am looking forward to the next book!
I love this book. Totally love it. It is none stop action. It so hard to put the book down. But I do need to sleep sometime. I love Creed and octavia. Dang there great together.
I like that each book in this series gives you more information about Craig and Mistveil. I liked Octavia and the vulnerable side that is shown in this story because we did not see that before her escape.Creed was a wonderful hero. I enjoyed getting to know him and some of the other males in the jungle. I look forward to the next book…
Overall I liked the book. The storyline was engaging, the writing flowed well and the characters were interesting. Unfortunately the heroine’s behaviour was somewhat annoying.
You think you can put it down. That it's longer than the others and it'll take you longer. You're wrong. This book is amazing! It's an easy read, the pages just keep turning. I'm looking forward to reading the next!
Loved this book except for the rushed ending. It was a little slow to start and get connected with the characters but it got better a few chapters in. But when it ended, I was a little shocked at the abruptness.
