While seeking professional help for his drinking once it gets out of hand and meeting another woman after being cheated on due to his possessive streak, things begin to look up for Jared, and so he finds his alcohol dependency wavering, promising a fresh start with the new woman who has entered his life. Upon meeting a supposed deadbeat at group therapy, he seeks to help him along the way when he too discovers romance. But can the guy really pull himself together and win this young woman over? Meanwhile, Jared's long-time friend tries to rectify things with his ex-girlfriend and win her back having spent months apart since her miscarriage gave rise to a breakdown which she has steadily overcome. Things are also seemingly falling apart for his colleague as her father is dying, and she has somewhat fallen out with her mother. She must also hold her marriage together and ensure the mental well-being of her young son is just as secure.

An excellent short story

An excellent story that moves very quickly from multiple point of views. I love stories that bounce from one person to another, and I throughly enjoyed this story. It highlights the difficulties of overcoming alcoholism and the struggles that come with it. He does an excellent job of explaining what Jared feels like dealing with life and his anxieties and I loved seeing the character find a happy ending after everything he went through. The characters are all connected in one way or another which I thought was cool how everyone was intertwined and how you discovered how they were connected. Really enjoyed this story!
