Liberating Tinkerbell

Rate this book
Surely everyone feels insecure in their relationship every now and then, right? But when Anna begins to suspect her fiance Mason of having a secret, she won't rest until she's discovered the whole truth. With her friends by her side, she begins to realize that not all is as it seems. What do you do when your heart is broken? Curl up and cry or come out fighting?

This is a cheating story, but light on the angst and heavy on the value of friends and promise of a happy ending.

I first read this on Wattpad but my memory is horrible so it was like reading a brand new book when I found it on KU.

This was a pretty lighthearted read even though the subject was about cheating. It is nothing that is going to change your life but it’s a quick, cute read and a good palette cleanser.

Safety: FMC is cheated on by her fiancé with the MMC’s wife. No on page descriptions of the cheaters escapades but it’s talked about and there are pictures/videos that are seen. MMC hasn’t had sex with the wife for over a year, the marriage was over for him pretty soon after it started. FMC hadn’t had sex for a few months.

Cheating husband…

Mason is the cheating husband, and the OW is April, someone he works with. April’s husband is Shane, who turns out to be the MMC. Anna is the wife, and she’s the FMC.

There’s actually a lot going on because Anna doesn’t want to believe Mason is cheating. Her besties help her out with pretty much spying on him, and see him with the OW. April is married but she’s pretty much a sociopath. She doesn’t have any real emotions.

This is a good read, short but well written. Nothing special about it, but it’s a good read. KU read.

This was one of those over-the-top, cheating-and-revenge short books that read a bit like a soap opera — messy, unrealistic, but still entertaining in its own way.

The story follows Anna, who is engaged to Mason, and starts suspecting him of cheating. She catches him kissing April, who turns out to be married to Shane. From there, Anna and Shane team up to get revenge. Shane is unbothered when he finds out — his marriage to April has been dead for years — but there’s an instant attraction between him and Anna. Meanwhile, we also get Mason and April’s point of view, which shows how shallow and toxic their affair really is. Mason is drowning in debt, chasing his ego, and spending money he doesn’t have on April, who only cares about what he can buy her.

Most of the book is Anna and Shane plotting petty revenges and waiting to see if Mason and April will ever confess, which of course they don’t. It all comes to a head when Anna and Shane follow them on a weekend trip and finally confront them. Shane hands April divorce papers, Anna ends her engagement, and she and Shane hook up. The epilogue fast-forwards to their marriage and kids, and an extended epilogue even shows Shane bumping into Mason years later, where Mason admits to his mistakes but is a shadow of who he used to be.

This book was okay. It was messy, unrealistic, and the instant attraction between Anna and Shane didn’t work for me. The writing was a bit meh and it wasn’t anything I’d rate highly. But sometimes I’m in the mood for exactly this kind of drama-heavy, over-the-top cheating revenge story, and it scratched that itch.

This was a short read involving Anna and her cheater fiancé, Mason. Not only is Mason cheating, but he is definitely more into the trust fund he has found out she is getting than Anna herself and is spending money like there is no tomorrow because he figures they will pay it back with her money after she gets it. After finding out, Anna goes into guerilla mode, contacting the OW's husband and teaming up with him and her friends for vengeance against the cheaters. And it just so happens that OW's husband happens to be kinda hot in an uber-masculine Hulk-Smash kind of way, so there's that.

The romance was pretty meh, but I picked this up for the revenge. I could have done with less POV from the cheaters, but since the romance wasn't my focus, it didn't bother me like it usually does. I could have actually used some more hijinks with Anna and her very awesome group of friends playing mind games with the cheaters and enjoying the chaos, but then this wouldn't have been a novella. Three stars for sheer entertainment value, but the writing wasn't my favorite.

Quick tangent that I'm hiding under a spoiler tag, so you can click if you want, but don't have to read it:

People who know me, know that I love that gut punch and devastation I get from reading cheating stories. I've found this author has a true gift at writing cheating stories. Despite the cheating involved in this story, the story itself wasn't as angsty as I usually love, but the story was still perfect for me. This story had fabulous supporting characters, and quite a bit of humor in it, too. I'm the odd man out, because my preference is for the cheating Hero to pull his head out of his ass, and redeem himself in the best way possible. That didn't happen in this story. Instead, the heroine gets a new Hero, who she deserves and who she finds her incredible HEA with. The ex husband does have huge regrets, pays astronomically, and he and the whore he cheated with, both live sad and unfulfilling lives.

H is cheating on h.. she has some good friends that help her figure out what's going on, the first few chapters are the h figuring things out, trying to navigate the situation. They're only engaged but she is set to inherit a lot of money and finds out he was planning on using it to maintain his sidepiece who is expensive and also happens to be married. The h, goes to the husband to inform him. They partner up and take down the fiancee and wife. The ow is real piece of work. The H is really dumb. There were some juvenile stuff that kept me from taking the book too seriously but all in all, not bad. It was readable and entertaining. The cheaters get caught and move on to not have such happy lives. The h and the ow's ex husband get together and get their hea. Not sure how I felt about it, in some ways their relationship was sweet and they certainly get their hea but I don't think I would want to be with the ow ex husband, something about that gives me the ick for some reason, especially given technically he was still married when they sleep together the first time, in the hotel room next door to the cheating couple. i didn't really like that.

Okay, so this is my new favorite book. I loved all characters, particularly Rosa. That chick needs her own book (please author!). As much as the MMC was a cheating a$$hold, I couldn't bring myself to hate Mason. He just seemed lost, but that doesn't excuse him.
Loved Anna and Shane, and the HEA was totally believable (blocked this review out because I guess this is a spoiler?). My only negative thought was that I could never shut my mouth and play games if I found my partner cheating, but I remind myself that this is a story and that aspect made the revenge all the richer.
Would def read again and crossing every crossable part of my body that Rosa gets her own story. Very much like The Most Dearest in terms of MFC is betrayed, finds a better guy, and revenge is served cold. Loved both.

Loved it

I wasn't sure what I was gna read as I've been reading a lot of books in cheating men but this was very different .It made me laugh and loved the way it just kept making me laugh in the plotting .Mason cheats in his wife Anna with a cold hearted money grabber who is married to Shane a big rough ex military guy that's not as polished as Mason but definitely a lot sexier .They both conspire to bring the 2 cheaters down with friendly banter and some moments of sexual tension .I loved the characters and the epilogue and would recommend if you want a short funny read with a HEA

It was OK. Typical cheater romance. I didn't particularly feel anything. Mason was pretty eww, spineless. Overspending to impress the OW, who was a caricature of a real person. Nothing new or different, unforunately. The two spouses did have their fun with the cheaters - which was kind of interesting but not enough to make me want to reread this. Could also be my mood. I've read numerous stories in the last few days in this genre and maybe I need to change it up and come back. Not anything wrong with this, but nothing exceptional either.

not bad

Love a good affair revenge story. This one ticks all the boxes for a nice and proper comeuppance towards the cheaters. Could have lived without the April (one of the cheaters) chapter that tried to humanize her. She’s shameless and soulless period. Anna and Shane’s HEA was definitely well deserved. I do think that the MCs could have been fleshed out more, especially Shane’s character. Would like to see Mel and Brax’s story and eventually Rosa’s too.

Ok

I liked some of this but did not like other parts. I felt like parts of it were over the top..I felt like "Tink" should have confronted Mason. April I did not care one iota. "Tink" (Anna) and Shane I felt like started a relationship too quickly. I don't think I will read another book by this author. This is just my opinion. Others like this book very much. It was just not for me.

Do you want a cheating-regret-revenge-HEA story?
I did and this one was really quite excellent.
-humor
-strong heroine
-cheater has major regrets
-revenge is fun with Anna and Shane driving it
-OW is ridiculously over the top bad
-Secondary hero is excellent
-cheater cries when he realizes the mistake he's made
-Happy endings and justice for all.

Nice work Myranda Henty. Will read more if they're like this.

OK so Anna is completely ridiculous. Her fiance is cheating with a married coworker. She tells the coworkers husband who tells her their relationship has been over for a while they just haven't divorced yet. She asks for his contact info and keeps asking him if he wants to talk about it. Ummm... so even if you haven't confirmed with photos or videos, you both pretty much know they're cheating together. What's the point in keeping in touch and talking about it?

Good book

I enjoyed this book. It’s based around infidelity / betrayal but it’s fairly lighthearted - as much as that can be. Mason is cheating on Anna with colleague. She finds out and confront him together with the colleague’s husband. They find their own HEA , it was an entertaining read.

This was a fun, easy read. Even though it is a betrayal book, it is written in a sort of lighthearted way. Anna wants to do the right thing and inform Shane of all she’s found, through this they form a friendship. I love how they recognize their current boundaries and let their foundation grow and let the drama settle before embarking on their journey.

Cheating = h's fiancée was having an affair with his co-worker who was married to the H

h sees H with OW = h sees the fiancée with the OW several times

Well written and originally read on Wattpad.

Humorous & quirky! A great read!

Fun take on the cheating trope! Enjoyed the light-hearted banter between characters but could have had a touch more introspection. Prefect beach read.

Sad in the beginning, but a cute HEA

First experience with this author, I prefer my cheaters to suffer and another man to get the girl. Which is what happens in this story. Both have been hurt but hers is more recent. I like that a side character uses examples from romance novels to help her friend take the steps to get the details and find closure. Let’s face it cheating isn’t because the innocent person in the relationship was lacking, the cheater has issues.

Great Story

Very impressed with the way the story developed and the personality of the characters was well described. By the end I did feel some sympathy for Mason.
Well written and addictive reading. Would definitely recommend

So Good

Wow! What a great book! I read it in one sitting. This story was so different than expected but so good. It’s about cheating but that becomes more of a joke. The book is way more.

I liked this story! I loved tinkerbell and GI Joe's pair 😂 I'm glad the heroine didn't cry much for the asshole ex and she moved on after sometime. The ex gets his comeuppance but I wish the evil OW had also suffered.

Almost like a comedy

I really liked some of the side characters and all the shenanigans. Shane and Anna are perfect for each other. Also after 10 years April and Mason are still learning their lessons.

where can I find more books like this?

Love to read about cheaters getting their comeuppance. Thanks for a fun read! Also, love stories when two people may not have met or discovered each other without the special circumstances.

I mean...it is what it is. Enjoyable enough though the "revenge" that Anna just had to enact was made up of childish pranks. I fail to see any revenge in what she did.

Summation: Silly, short, filler read.

Timkerbelle & GI Joe

Liked this book, quick easy reading with a lot of humor between these two while they go thru steps to break away from their cheating partners. Glad Anna wasn’t the type to tolerate it.

Fast, fun read

Angst, humor, heartache, and a HEA with a genuinely kind hearted man. What more could you want from a book that starts with the break up of not one but two relationships because of workplace infidelity. So glad I found a teaser that led me to the book here!
