So .....about the Lakota

So if you've read more than one of these books it follows a certain pattern which is not a problem or issue for me. I think the surrounding story involving the Lakota tribe was more interesting than this couple. I was really frustrated with the male lead in this story. I question whether I'm just imposing my liberal sensibilities on a historical fiction that is keeping his personality a certain way to be in tune with the time or the guy is a.....sorry can't think of an appropriate word. The whole reconciliation made me roll my eyes. I think i literally said "really" out loud as I was reading it.
The 4 stars was for the surrounding story wish there was more of that. I just wasn't feeling Deena and Eddie or whatever his name was

I both loved and hated this book. It’s more than just Eddie and Deena’s book. While their romance was cute and frustrating-I wanted to strangle that man several times, it turned out to be a beautiful and sweet HEA. What’s horrible is what happens to our Lakota tribe. It’s not as if we don’t know history but...ugh. I hate that that happened. I was pretty much crying along with them. So happy and sad about this one.

The characters of earlier books continue to appear (secondary roles) in this sweet, clean, fun Western mail order tale, with occasional historic inaccuracies.

I loved this love story of Deena And Eddie but was devastated with what happened to the Lakota tribe. So upsetting. What mostly liked about this story was that Deena waited to sleep with Eddie until after their wedding. I had to take a break from the series but let me tell you this series is wonderful and entertaining. Enjoy.

Lies, lies what happen when a relationship begin with lies.

Another great adventure Eddie and Deena. Deena make a mistake adopting another personality trying to entice the attention from Eddie, the twists and turns they have to go to resolve their problems keep the reading so interesting I didn’t want to stop reading. Always waiting what you coming out on the next one!,

This is the second I have read of this series. I enjoyed the characters (the 2 main plus the town citizens). My only problem is that they are rather anachronistic in the topics, attitudes and opinions. However, they are funny and the book kept my interest throughout.

Love and Crime

There is soo much going on in this book. I am going to list some of them. I could never get all of it mentioned in one review plus this book deserves a good read. I highly recommend that anyone who has been following the series read this.
The following is just a sample of what you can expect from the book.
1) .Deena is attracted to Eddie. Eddie is one of Joe's employees and he is clueless when it comes to romantic attraction.. Deena has been doing anything and everything possible to get his attention. Eddie has posted an ad for a mail order bride. She poses as one by sending letters. After a period of Eddie being mad at her trickery, they begin a romantic relationship..

2) A ferret owned by Rick Westlake plays a major role in this book. He helps solve crime. The mayor of Dawson dislikes the ferret with a passion. This a great comical adidion to a book that has a lot of drama.

3.) A Lakota girl is raped by a solider. He blackmails her and she steals jewelry in order to appease him. . Minx eventually lands at the mayor's house where she begins her punishment for her crimes. She also begins a romance with ranch hand Charlie.

4.) The Lakota indian tribe is forced to the reservation after the army tracks them down. This is a great heart ache for many of the residents of Dawson.

These are just some highlights. The everyday dealings at Joe's house is a part of the story along with the birth of babies .

This is a great book for anyone who has invested time in learning about Dawson.
