Another commemorative edition in the WWII anniversary series. First published shortly after operations took place and individuals were interviewed for historical reasons. The Army decided to re-release the series to tell another generation the history of operations in the Pacific.
This one covers the 77th Infantry Division at Gaum. They were assigned to the III Amphibious Corps and operated with the Marines. The Division landed after the harbor and airfield was secured and operated on the right flank of the Marines. The advance was up the Eastern side of the island.
There are numerous maps and photos to support the text. Good account of the Army fight in the Pacific.
