Short and sweet

This was a short read but very entertaining. I really enjoyed it. Written as a multi pov. With it beings so short I was not able to become emotionally attached to the characters, but they were easy to like.

Good story concept, nice character dialogue, good detailed descriptions. All in all an enjoyable read. No heart twinges or tears but high in entertainment value.

Nice short story relating how one girl buried under a mountain of verbal abuse finds peace in the arms of a wise, loving deaf man. He teaches her about the importance of forgiveness. Sweet, interesting and filled with compassion and emotion. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I recommend this story for its peacefulness, sweetness and promise of hope for a future of sunshine. Five Stars.

Creo que se merece 3 estrella o menos porque: primero reconozco que es una historia corta, pero eso no la tiene que ser menos creíble, sabemos que el amor a primera vista es pura atracción por tal motivo creo que fueron muy rápido, además apenas lo conoció y todos los suceso pasaron tan rápido que fue imposible dirigir todo lo que le sucedió a la chica. Ella tuvo una vida muy difícil pero no creo que ver a su madre así actuara de tal modo frente a la gente, si puede actuar cuando no este rodeada de gente, pero actuó con gente haciéndolo tan poco creíble. Bueno en fin la historia falta mas atracción fue la cosa mas simple que he leído en este año, además que no se demostró el amor que se quería proyectar.

Haunted by memories of her mother's verbal abuse, Bethany believes herself undeserving of love. Dylan is tall, dark, handsome and deaf. When he meets Bethany, he falls for her, but she needs to make peace with her past if they are to have a future.

I love that Bethany's emotional handicap is the issue with her relationship with Dylan, rather than his physical handicap.

This story made me smile and root for this adorable couple.

Me encantó a pesar de ser corto. Es una historia algo fuera de lo común, ya que trata uno de los temas de los que no he visto mucho al respecto. Me gustó el desarrollo de la relación de ambos personajes y del apoyo que Dylan le da a Bethanny a pesar de lo poco que se conocen.

Me hubiera gustado que se desarrollara más la idea, pero me parece precioso a pesar de su extensión.

Lo primero que puedo decir sobre este libro es que me gusto su portada y que uno de los personajes es sordo. Lo segundo que es una historia corta. Sin embargo, aunque Dylan es un personaje encantador, y se entiende los problemas emocionales que sufre Beth, la historia me pareció tediosa y no me atrapo. Y aunque pensé colocarle 1 estrellas, me encantó el consejo que le dio Dylan a Beth sobre por qué debía perdonar a su madre: "El perdón es para ti. Mereces estar en paz".

This is a lovely novella with two wonderful characters. Bethany was raised by a mother who was quite terrible. This leads to some severe insecurity and harrowing self-dialogue. Dylan is such a lovely person but has his own obstacles that he's overcome. Might they be just what each other needs? I don't want to spoil it but if you're looking for a quick read with a feel-good story, this is it! Enjoy!

No hay mucho que pueda decir acerca de esta short storie.
Llegó a ser súper cute y empalagosa pero personalmente me gustó el personaje de Dylan, me pareció hermosa esta representación de la población sordomuda, eso de que una mirada dice más que mil palabras, es algo que representa a esas personas que no se comunican con palabras, y lo hacen más bien con gestos y sentimientos que se ven a través de las miradas. Algo lindo.
Bethanny por otro lado es una mujer que busca superar su pasado con una madre que solía degradarla y humillarla cuando vivían juntas y Dylan influye en que ella logre cumplir su objetivo.
No sé cómo poder juzgar un relato tan corto como este, porque el simple hecho de ser tan corto no me da forma de analizarlo, ni me dan ganas de ponerme en la tarea de hacerlo, pero diría que es una buena historia para ir de paso, nada compleja, se puede leer en un ratito, no más de treinta minutos.
El hecho de que sea una historia que maneje el tema de las personas con discapacidades auditivas la convierte en una historia poco común porque no suelo escuchar acerca de historias con personajes con discapacidades auditivas, una idea muy original pero que tal vez se pudo haber desarrollado de una mejor manera, y se hubiera aprovechado más.

Es un libro muy cortito y la verdad es que no terminé de entenderlo.

Se supone que la protagonista tiene un complejo de inferioridad debido a que su madre la castigaba psicológicamente, esa es la razón de por qué siente que no es lo suficientemente buena para nadie.....sobretodo con los hombres. (tan depresivo!)

Su mejor amiga logra convencerla de salir de noche y termina conociendo a un hermoso hombre.....pero nunca escucha su voz ya que es sordo-mudo.

Hasta ahí vamos bien, pero luego surge que la malévola madre tiene un accidente y queda en estado vegetativo. Bethany toma una decisión importante y está preparada para que Dylan la rechace sin más.

Pero puede que Dylan la sorprenda....

No creo que sea necesario decir más sobre la historia pero ya imaginarán como terminará.

La autora no se ha podido lucir con este libro y creo que por tratar de abarcar varios temas terminó por dejarlos colgados a todos. Bue, a veces pasa.

Lamentablemente, no pueda dar una buena opinión porque sinceramente no me ha gustado. Aunque no descarto leer algún otro libro de ella algún día.
