At the behest of the mysterious librarian Seris, Sora and his party are going all in on conquering Majorica’s dungeon. With the help of the newly arrived Chris and Rurika—as well as another group of old friends who happen into town—they make steady progress through an increasingly difficult series of labyrinthine floors punctuated by verdant grasslands, rocky ravines, and a forest lake swarming with undead hordes. But as the party comes closer to their goal, a new intrigue begins to take shape behind the scenes. Dark forces are plotting things in the dungeon’s depths, and their target is...Layla?! Sora will have to race against time, not just to prevent a monster parade but to save his old friend too!
The struggle to get to the bottom of the dungeon continues, made all the more challenging not just by the regular monsters of the dungeon, but also unexpected outside forces. From a plot and world building perspective nothing really unexpected happens, but that is not why I am enjoying the series. It makes for a good easy popcorn read and that is why I grabbed the series for in the first place. I do wish we got to see a bit more progress on what I suspect to be the major plot that for now is mostly taking place in the background. As in earlier volumes there are a few short bits from different perspectives that hint at such, but nothing conclusive. O well, nothing new to a series like this.
Reread the entire series so I could read the 4th book
So I’ve had this book so long that I reread the series again so it would make sense. Now I’m heartbroken that there doesn’t seem to be another book in the series waiting for me to buy. The entire series is worth reading over and over again. Buy it! You won’t regret it.
