Clarissa, a plain brown cow who allows herself to be pushed around by all the other animals on her Wisconsin farm, helps a group of lost domestic animals find their way to the fair and demonstrates that she is bright, brave, and creative. Includes factual information on Wisconsin, farm life, dairy products, and fairs.
Cute illustrations! Mixed feelings about the story...good for teaching that outward appearances aren’t as important as inward character, but the plot lacks much substance and the ending doesn’t fully make sense.
