متلازمة ايرلن هي خلل في الإدراك الحسي أي الذي يستقبل المعلومات عبر مروره من العين إلى الدماغ لمعاجتها، كلمات تتراقص وحروف تقفز أو تدور وتتداخل من شأنها يستصعب رؤية الكلمات واضحة، وقد تكون وراثية

دراسة ميدانية للراشدين الموظفين وطلبة مدارس، جعلتها تغير من أساليب البحث، التي كانت تعتمد غالبا على اختبار تعليمية معيارية أجوبة لأسئلة محددة، لكنها ضمت الفحص الطبي الذي يقدم المفحوص معلومات أكثر عن طريق شرح أعراض ما يعانيه أثناء القراءة ص ٣٥
البحث في دراسات سابقة لنظريات في الخلل الحسي ومعالجتها أحدها كانت نظرية  (العين المهيمنة ) يتم تغطية عين لتقوية أخرى ثم تم استخدام عدسة نظارة بلونين أحمرو أخضر،  والمفاجأة كانت سهولة القراءة عند الذين جربوا الشفاف الأحمر عند عدد كبير،  لكن لماذا البقية لم تتأثر بحجم الأولى  ؟ ! .

وجدوا أن درجة اللون تحدث فرقاً عند أفراد مختلفين،  ومنهم يحتاج خليط من الألوان في عدسة واحدة،  ص ٤٥+ ص ٩٩
فيزيائيا الأطوال الطيفية (الموجية) الألوان للصفحة المراد قراءتها تؤثر على الدماغ في كيفية معالجتها.  ص٢٧ تذكر كمثال نظارة الأبعاد الثلاثية عند مشاهدة فيلم ، هي نفس  العدسات المعدلة (ايرلن) تضبط ما يراه القارئ من أحرف وكلمات بشكل ثابت لا تتحرك كحزام الأمان ص٤٣

ملازمة التوتر البصري(إيرلن) مصاحب لمن يعانون من ضعف الانتباه وفرط النشاط والديسليكيا واضرابات سلوكية أخرى، لكن ليس بالضرورة جميعهم مصابون بها، لذا دقة الاختبار يحدد الإصابة به . أعراضه ص ٨٠

A great follow up to Reading by Colours. What I especially liked is how she repeatedly stated that this isn’t a cure, but a tool for success.

Helpful guide to understanding the syndrome and others that may benefit from the Irlen Method as a treatment to relieve symptoms of perceptual dysfunctions which affect the processing of information as it passes from the eyes to the brain. We were looking at resolving problems of light sensitivity that lead to fatigue, headaches, dizziness and balance problems. Colored plastic sheets have helped with improving the reading, but we wanted more information about the filters applied to lenses and this book had case studies that describe various clients' experiences. Useful info can be found on the irlen website.

I wished this had gone into more depth about reading by colors as I still feel like I need more information/research on Irlen Syndrome. However, I have seen a child use colored overlays in class and it definitely seems to help - that's why I picked up this book to begin with.

Interesting topic. My daughter suffers from this issue and, along with other disabilities as a result of a stroke at age 7. It was interesting to understand the topic in greater detail. Not a fun read; a reasonably interesting read, if you know of someone with the syndrome
