An emotionally mature, supportive MMC who likes to take control in the bedroom? Yes please!
While this certainly put more emphasis on plot than smut, the couple of scenes included were satisfying 👀.
This was a workplace romance where there was a lot of drama in said workplace. The FMC and MMC don’t get off to the greatest start and it seemed like there was going to be some back story of why the MMC acted the way he did in the beginning, but then it turned out to just be because he thought she was attractive so he had to be mean to her? It definitely doesn’t track with the sensitive, caring character that is portrayed for the rest of the book.
The FMC is curvy/plus sized and comes with a little bit of the insecurity with that but Tobias literally always makes her comfortable and tells her that she is beautiful. She also suffers from a lot of anxiety and her therapy is a big portion of her storyline. The one thing that bugged me about it in the beginning is that multiple people asked her what she talked about in therapy and they at the time were acquaintances at best which bothered me, but did not seem to bother the FMC.
Overall, a cute romance read that was set in a news station, so the dynamic of that setting was new to me and captured my attention. Will read on for the next couple’s story that happens simultaneous to this book.
