She came to the mountain chasing wildlife. She found the kind of man worth keeping.
Wildlife researcher Sage's GPS tracker leads her to an isolated mountain cabin and its grumpy blacksmith owner. Knox lives alone for a reason, but when a storm traps them together, everything changes.
One night. One chance to rewrite all the rules.
Keep Me, Knox is a short & steamy, grumpy/sunshine romance featuring a reclusive mountain man and the curvy woman he can’t resist. No cliffhangers. No cheating. Just one growly hero, one bold heroine, and one very happy ending.
She came looking for a bear. She found a man who made her question everything.
Sage is a dedicated wildlife researcher used to muddy boots, long hikes, and staying focused on the job. When a collared black bear leads her to a secluded mountain cabin, she finds more than tracks in the dirt. Knox, a brooding blacksmith with a quiet life off the grid, isn't the kind of man who invites strangers in. The storm leaves her little choice.
Knox didn’t want company, but Sage isn’t the kind of woman you push away. She’s smart, grounded, and knows how to handle the wilderness without making it a performance. Their connection builds slowly through shared silence, firelight, and moments that feel like more than coincidence.
But desire doesn’t erase distance. Love doesn’t always come easy. Knox has roots in the mountain. Sage has a life waiting beyond it. What happens between them could be temporary, or it could be the start of something real if they’re both brave enough to hold on.
Sage and Knox grow from guarded loners into people willing to be seen, to stay, to try. Their story is quiet, intense, and deeply personal. It’s not about changing each other. It’s about finally being understood and letting that be enough.
A steamy, instalove, mountain man, curvy girl, grumpy sunshine, small town romance, exploring love, solitude, trust, belonging, healing, and acceptance. It's about finding peace after heartbreak, letting someone truly see you, and choosing love even when it’s the harder path.
Keep Me Knox by Pippa Brook is a novel that gently lures you into its world with the calm serenity of the wilderness and then quietly wraps you up in a story of unexpected connection. Sage, a wildlife researcher, is focused on her mission: tracking a mama bear and her two cubs through the vast expanse of the woods. But when she stumbles upon a cabin at the edge of the forest — the last known location of her GPS signal — she meets Knox, the man who has quietly carved out a life in this isolated place. From the moment Sage and Knox lock eyes, there's this unspoken pull between them, a magnetic force neither can ignore. But Sage, determined to keep things professional, brushes off the chemistry between them, asking him only about the bears. Knox, who is as mysterious as the woods surrounding them, is both gruff and intriguing. He leads Sage to the mama bear lounging in his hammock (yes, you read that right), with her mischievous cubs causing playful chaos in his backyard.
As they share a simple meal and swap stories, it becomes clear that both Sage and Knox are searching for the same thing: peace and quiet in a world that demands constant motion. There’s something so grounding about their connection, an understanding that goes beyond words. It’s not just about the bears or the quiet of the forest; it’s about finding someone who gets the importance of stillness, someone who values the serenity of a life lived in harmony with nature.
Brook masterfully builds their bond, letting it bloom slowly, as natural and subtle as the seasons changing. What starts as a shared appreciation for the peace of the wild evolves into something deeper, something rooted in mutual respect and a quiet longing. And in the midst of all that, there’s a slow-burn romance that feels like a deep exhale.
Keep Me Knox isn't just a love story—it's a journey of self-discovery and finding balance in a world that can sometimes feel too noisy. It’s about the healing power of nature and the unexpected ways that people come into your life when you need them most. Sage and Knox might start as strangers, but by the end, you’ll feel like they’ve always been meant to find each other.

Sage works for the Black Bear Research Initiative. She's tracking a bear that was collared while hibernating. She and her cubs were in the area where Knox lives, and she asked for his permission to search on his property.
Knox doesn't like having people around him. He's a blacksmith who's known for his handmade knives and swords. But there's something different about the beauty who came knocking at his door.
He not only knows about a bear in the area but also the exact location of bear 170-A, whom he's named Rosie. As usual, Rosie is in his hammock. She commandeers it yearly as a sanctuary from her rough-and-tumble cubs.
Sage spends enough time watching Rosie and her cubs that it will be near dark or dark by the time she gets back to her truck. The roads can be treacherous at night for people not accustomed to them. The gentlemanly thing to do would be to offer her the use of his guest room.
Now he only has to figure out how to get her to stay forever...

This dive into The Mountain Code doesn't disappoint!!!! We are met with researcher Sage, diving into the woods searching for a momma and her cubs. She didn't expect to lead to the handsome recluse blacksmith, Knox.
Knox likes his peace and quiet, and can't be mad at the momma bear lounging in his hammock, or the cubs playing around in the trees. He is just as surprised to find Sage tracking them. I love how his gut told him right away to invite Sage in, and watch her research. He wants her to stay.
Sage is just looking for a reason to spend more time with Knox. The handsome quiet mountain man has her stomach in knots. You can't be mad at the them bonding over the momma and cubs in his back yard. She gets more research material she would have had in years watching from his back porch.
The chemistry between them feels strong, and alive. I enjoyed how she just wanted to be asked to stay, and how he finally found someone he Wants to stay. Its the fast insta romance story, but with big heart and even bigger steam!
I enjoyed reading this one as well. Not as great as the first three stories but the 4th and 5th were very good. Sage worked for the government collecting data on Black Bears. Her job took her to Knox’s cabin. It’s where the momma bear’s tracker led her to. She knocked on the cabin door and when it opened Sage was very surprised to see a very large very good looking Mountain Man. Knox asked what she wanted and she proceeded to tell him why she was there. He said the momma bear and her two cubs were actually in his backyard. He walked her around the back and Sage was shocked to see the cubs climbing up trees and momma bear lounging on Knox’s hammock. He told her he named her Rosie. That she’s been coming to his cabin for about two years. Sage let them be and she and Knox went inside. Then she said she wanted to gather information, photos and videos. They spent about an hour out there until finally Knox asked if Sage was hungry. They went back inside and… 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜😊😊😊

A Delightful Bear Connection - Sage was only meant to be temporarily staying at Knox’s cabin whilst tracking a bear and her cubs, but having to spend time with him in close proximity was reeking havoc on her lady bits. Knox was happy living a reclusive life and usually didn’t like strangers on his land, but he didn’t understand why he offered Sage a place to stay whilst she was documenting everything about the bears. The tension between Knox and Sage soon escalated into heated steamy encounters and their attraction for each other growing.
Unfortunately, Sage and Knox found it difficult to handle when it was time for her to return, but he realised he couldn’t be without her, so he managed to convince her to move in with him. Luckily, Sage accepted Knox’s offer and they embarked on their journey towards a future together. This is a quick, fun and steamy read, that you will absolutely enjoy and have fun reading. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

The mountain code is working its magic. Rosie and her twin cubs bring Sage and Knox together. As they spend time watching the bears, they find that feeling you call home. A place were they can be who they are, not someone else version of what think they should be, but the real version.

Two main characters and a family of bears. This is a cute story where bears rule in the humor. What happens when a Mountain man meets a ranger? You'll need to read it to find out. Its so worth this short read.
Fate and the Mountain work together in sending Knox, the perfect woman that matches his character. Loved how easygoing this couple played into each others hearts.

Knox and Sage are great characters but the story took me a tad bit longer to really get into. I did like the mountain man vibe and the HEA ending Sage found with Knox.
