This book will take you on a ride with twists and turns, triumph and heartbreak. James is thrown into a world beyond his imagination and is completely lost and barely able to survive, until he happens upon Dayne’s homestead, they give him food and shelter and teach him important things he needs to learn to survive and fight for himself as well as others. You will go on an amazing adventure that you will never forget. It just goes to show, no matter what life throws at you, if have the willpower and fight in you, you can overcome and survive even the toughest of situations.

Okay… so this book hurt, but in the best way.
From the beginning, Lost Between Twin Moons pulled me into a world that felt vast, dangerous, and brutally alive. The worldbuilding is immersive without being overwhelming, and the character development and their interactions are incredibly well written. Everything feels intentional, layered, and emotionally grounded.
James’ journey hit me harder than I expected. Watching him struggle, survive, and slowly change under the weight of loss and hardship was painful in a way that felt honest. His growth isn’t easy or pretty, and that made me care about him deeply. Every relationship, quiet moment, and tense interaction added to that emotional weight.
And the ending… wow. I read the final couple chapters on a TikTok live with the author himself, and I was genuinely fighting tears the entire time. It was so well written and so fitting that now, having finished it, I honestly can’t imagine the story ending any other way. It hurt, but it was absolutely perfect.
Book two isn’t out yet, which means I’m currently sitting here waiting very impatiently to continue James’ story. This was an emotional, beautifully written start to a dark fantasy series, and it’s easily one of my top reads in the genre.

(4.5 stars but doesn’t allow for half stars) You know it’s going to be a good book when the preface before the story begins hooks you. I loved how the Lost Between Twin Moons opened and C.G. Steele’s way with words. It was easy to follow; I was never confused and could picture everything visually (loved all the other world creature descriptions).
The first few chapters progressed quickly, then there was a bit of a slow beat in the middle. I went into the book knowing this, but I’m not the most patient person/reader. I remember thinking, “Okay, I’m ready for a little more action.” WELL FOLKS, said action came, conquered, and left me *almost* crying. Looking back, Steele was laying Easter eggs left and right throughout the story to set up for an ending that had my jaw dropping and left me with questions that NEED to be answered. Overall, I’m invested and can’t wait to see where the story goes.
Side note: I really like the way the book’s tactile feels.

Such A Page Turner
Holy crap. I started this book on a Monday afternoon and by the same time Tuesday? I was done. I literally struggled to get other things done because I just wanted to read more. The main character isn’t the best of us, he’s just like you and me. He’s normal learning how to manage in an abnormal world. You won’t want to put this book down because you’ll just want to find out how he survives!

Isekai novel following James. Well written with detailed world building. Four stars because, in my opinion, sometimes too detailed world building. Also, not a fan of the "colors never seen before" cliché. Unless interdimensional travel changed the cones in your eyes, that's beyond the realm of plausible, even in fiction, without more info to back it up.
I pre-ordered book 2 after reading this one on KU, which should tell you more than my minor gripes above.

Steele masterfully balances high-stakes action with James’s internal battle as he navigates a beautiful yet perilous new world. Watching James weigh the hope of returning home against the necessity of becoming someone new creates a compelling emotional tension that keeps you hooked until the very end.

After reading this book I thought WOW how do people come up with stuff like this. The author has an amazing imagination. I was hooked from the beginning. As it took me a few days to finish reading, but work and laundry got in the way of reading Twin Moons. I would definitely recommend this book.

An Immersive Lost in a Strange World Story
I wasn't sure what to expect from this story. I've been trying to branch out, read more indie author books, try genres I'm not used to. This was a wonderful surprise. Looking forward to continuing the story.

C. G. Steele weaves a fantastic tale of the reluctant hero who steps up and subverts the traditional chosen one trope. I got this book blindly and ended up falling in love with it. I can't wait for the next book because I can't wait for this story to continue.

C.G doesn’t write characters, he writes people. Real, broken, gasping-for-air people. James felt like someone I knew, someone I wanted to shake and then hug. And Dayne? Don’t even talk to me. That dynamic gutted me.
What I loved is how it doesn’t rush. It simmers. You feel every scrape, every ache, every silence between lines. The world is rich without being over-explained, the tension builds like a bruise, and the grief? It clings to you.
And it’s not just beautiful, it’s smart. It knows when to let things breathe and when to knock the wind out of you.
If you like slow-burn survival stories with characters that crawl under your skin and stay there, this is it.
This is the kind of debut you don’t forget.

Steele does a fantastic job balancing atmosphere and momentum; the setting feels lived-in and strange in the best way, and the character dynamics are layered with tension, longing, and just enough hope to keep you turning pages at an unreasonable speed.
And then there’s the ending. 😤
No spoilers—but be warned: this is the kind of ending that will make you stare at the wall, flip back a few pages in disbelief, and seriously consider screaming into a pillow. It’s bold, infuriating, and painfully effective. That rage is proof of how invested I was. If you like stories that linger in your head and endings that hurt (in a good, literary way), this one is absolutely worth the ride.

Omg.. just finished this book. Pretty good! picking up book two soon hopefully. imagine being sucked into one of your fantasy books from your mid ace life and having to start over finding where you belong and losing it in a blink of an eye. this short read was PACKED with world building, action, and found family
