St. Noblis is an isolated island in the Caribbean that has adopted an innovative business model to avert bankruptcy. It has transformed itself into a prison in paradise, providing a luxury alternative to the U.S. prison system for those high-net-worth individuals who can afford it.
The current inmates welcome new arrivals – the Next Six.
One of the newbies, Charlie Drake, has been convicted of spying and retains, in his memory, the detailed specifications of a developmental aircraft that will be the primary defense for the United States over the next several decades. The Chinese want access to that intel.
The prisoners are intelligent, wealthy, and morally ambiguous. They navigate shifts in alliances, ethical dilemmas, and the specter of a dangerous international conflict compounded by the duplicity of the CIA.
A fast-action, political, espionage, and military thriller that will keep you turning the pages.
NEXT SIX is the second book in the Prison in Paradise series.
Well, that was a surprise denouement. A little nail-biting there in the middle, but human's good nature kept the guy who had his finger on the trigger from pulling it. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the good writing of these two books. Not going to read the (as yet unwritten, I gather) sequel though.
