I screwed up my first solo potion and now the customer is covered in hives. If that disaster wasn’t bad enough, knowing it might get my family’s potions house gobbled up by a competitor is the icing on the cake. What I didn’t expect was for my father to ship me off to the Wild West monster haven of Pine Gulch as punishment. He calls it an opportunity to learn. Pfft. Pine Gulch is a temporary setback—I’ll get back to the city in a New York minute.
Except things don’t go as planned when a mysterious sickness befalls the haven’s animals. Before I know it I’m smack dab in the middle of an investigation. Unfortunately, Furyon Zayle, the ranger in charge of the investigation, is a smoking-hot dark elf with an unnatural amount of charm. Him staring at me might be hot if I wasn’t being accused of somehow manufacturing the illness.
I’m a fish out of water in the worst possible way, but the pull between Furyon and me is stronger than the threat of my guilt. He introduces me to the beautiful corners of Pine Gulch—hidden pumpkin mazes, a herd of wild mustangs, a magical auction house, and the saucy town herself.
Our connection deepens as I start to fall in love with the wildness of this country haven and its people…one specifically. But good things don’t last as the investigation closes in on me. I know I’m innocent, but can Furyon and I find the culprit before I end up behind bars?
Hazel Mack writes small town cozy but scorching monster romance. High heat but lots of sweet is the name of the game. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with Mr. Mack, Baby Mack and a dog named Andy. Hazel Mack is the sticky sweet alter ego of dark(ish) romance author Anna Fury.
Such a fun, spicy time. Vibes were immaculate all around.
Plot was plotting yet half of the book was still spicy — and I didn’t mind one bit because Furyon is YUMMY. Normally I get bored by instalust or after the first spicy scene but this actually had a good story and plot and I just kept going. I needed more of them. I loved Lemon and her character and how she found where she wanted to be. The found family aspect? Ugh that always gets me. Finding your person? Yea that does me in every time. Standing up to your family? That trope will always make books BETTER. I love it. LOVE IT. GO LEM. TELL EM.
I also really loved Pine Gulch itself. Small towns are adorable. Small Towns with personalities? Yep. Count me in. I WANT THOSE SHUTTERS FLAPPIN AT ME.
➵ monster cowboy romcom ➵ dark elf mmc ➵ vampire & potion maker fmc ➵ falling in love and solving a mystery
Romcoms are always hit or miss for me. In this case I don't really like the writing. It just not my cup of tea or maybe I wasn't in the right mood. Also here's insta-love which I don't like. Overall it was boring, no tension, no development, even vampire smut didn't save this book. But arts and comics inside the book are delicious.
4.75 ⭐️ What a f*cking fenomenal start to this series!
I was slightly sceptical about the whole city girl moves to the countryside thing, but I loved Lemon so, so much! And obviously Furyon was pretty perfect himself.
The only reason I'm not giving this the full 5 stars is because I genuinely wanted to see some violence when it came to her and her family. I wanted Lemon to smash a potions book in her brother's head. But I guess the whole trying to be civil thing is nice or whatever... *sigh*
I love Hazel Mack, and I was so nervous about leaving Ever, well, forever but I'm so happy we keep getting amazing stories, just in a new and interesting place! And I cannot wait for Bluebell and Hadrian's book!!
Gosh I would have a hard time choosing which Haven to live in because while I'm so in love with Ever, Pine Gulch has stolen my heart, too. It's a totally different Haven but has the same charming, cozy feels. Monster cowboys > human cowboys.
I didn't find myself relating to Lemon very much because I'm no where near as confident and social as she is but I enjoyed seeing her take charge and make the most of her new circumstances. And of course I would have fallen as easily and quickly for Furyon as she did. Who wouldn't?? Swoony, tatted Dark Elf with the filthiest mouth in the West. I loved their chemistry and banter.
We got lots of mystery and angst, magic, and spice plus a ton of amazing side characters that I hope we get more of in future books! **cough cough Rygold**
“You’re stuck with me now, Furyon. If we bust up, you’ll never be able to forget me...
...“I couldn’t forget you if I tried, Lemon".
I've never read a Hazel Mack book I didn't love and I know I am always in for a good time with her writing.
You are in for a treat with this paranormal-cowboy- monster romance crossover.
Welcome to Pine Gultch, where the sun is shining, the dark elf ranger is smoking hot, and chaos erupts immediately.
The moment Lemon arrives in Pine Gultch she is suspect number 1 in an investigation. How can it be that all the animals are getting sick the same time the potions making vampire arrives?!
Furyon, the dark elf ranger is determined to get the bottom of this mystery...and Lemon. *wiggles eyebrows
Can this city girl prove her innocence without falling head over boots for her horned cowboy?!
This was just a good time and and a great read. Hazels books are always filled with the perfect amount of heart, spice, and they impossible to put down without binging them!
This was a sweet & naughty little book. Super low angst and cute, and that made it a perfect palette cleanser. Its very much a city girl moves to the country kind of story, even though Lemon (the FMC) is forced there by her dear old dad.
Lemon is definitely a girly girl vampire, down to her adorably sparkling boots and that meshes well with Cowboy Furyon the Dark Elf with an affinity for animals. But make no mistake, these two have some crazy chemistry and things get pretty kinky, pretty fast. Furyon has a bit of a mouth on him.
Its just a good read overall, with some great characters, and very little drama or angst. It'll just take you to your happy place.
Monster RomCom Small Town Vampire & Dark Elf City Girl/Country Boy Primal Play (She Chases Him!) Sweet & Filthy Spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I loved the HEA series by Hazel Mack so I knew I’d like this book. What I wasn’t prepared for was how much I loved cowboy monsters. It was funny, spicy and had a great story. Excited to be in a new Haven and proud to say I’m a Gulcher.
Y’all know I love a good monster romance, but throw in a country accent, a cowboy hat, and dirty pair of work boots, and I’m all yours.
As a first-time Hazel Mack reader “Live, Love, Lasso” did not disappoint! This book is hilarious, sexy, and constantly had me asking myself, “who’s the villain here?”.
I LOVED the chemistry between Lemon & Furyon. Their banter had me cackling, and the spice had me blushing, sweating, & needy. Seriously it’s so delicious!
Have your mop and an extra pair of panties ready because it’s about to get HOT! Don’t say I didn’t want ya.
A huge thank you to Hazel Mack & the team at Podium for allowing me to listen to Live, Love, Lasso before release day!
This is going to be such a rambly review because I'm basically a crazy fangirl right now!
So for starters I really liked the characters and worldbuilding. This is a fish out of water story like Tessa Bailey's It Happened One Summer. Lemon is a city girl in a small town but she's not snobby or completely obtuse when it comes to doing things on her own or in a small town. She has what I (as a vegan Los Angeleno) conside a perfect amount of standards: we all deserve proper coffee shop options even in small towns thank you very much. She also finds herself adjusting to the nosey townsfolks and different way of living.
I love when a monster novel has an interesting plot and this one has a bit of a mystery - one that is also the catalyst to her forced proximity with her love interest. A Dark Elf is an interesting monster and I liked how both Furyon and Lemon were blood drinkers. This book plays with scent and lust and teeth and all the fun vampire things. When things first escalate between the main characters I felt like it was really sudden and I didn't fully expect things to happen at that moment, but boy am I glad they did because I was sucked in from then on!
Furyon literally cannot resist Lemon and it's addicting to read about. The way they are drawn to each other and tempted to bite each other and can't stop smelling each other. I was basically screaming because of how obsessed I am. Cannot get enough of these two.
This book is fun and spicy and has some found family vibes and it was wonderful! The spice levels are pretty high in this one and we even get teased for some more books in this series. I cannot wait to go back to Pine Gulch!
haven ever after is one of my comfort series and i was so happy to be back in the haven world and to discover pine gulch alongside lemon!
the characters truly make this story. lemon is such a cool character and i found myself rooting for her from the start. and i loved the focus on friendship in lemon's pov, the support system her friends bring her brought a huge smile to my face.
it took me a bit to understand furyon but i also loved him once we got to know him better. he is truly a caring and loving character and i enjoyed being in his point of view.
while a bit quick, the romance was fun! i appreciated how the emotional side developed between them as they opened up to each other. they were so sweet. both characters were so protective of the other and that's something i adore in romance.
the descriptions of pine gulch were stunning, and really brought the haven to life! all the characters and the community built within it were a delight and i cannot wait to discover even more.
(the comic interludes were so cute!)
the mystery element was a nice touch to bring the characters together and i was invested in figuring it out. the tension it added was great!
overall, i love getting to know a new haven, it has so much to offer, and i cannot wait to see more! live love lasso truly was a joy to read! 🩷
I love cowboy romances and paranormal/monster romances, so Western paranormal/fantasy romances are a mashup I always jump on when I find them! And when I saw Samantha Brentmoor was one of the two narrators, I knew I wanted to listen to the audiobook version of the book! It's dual narration, with Brentmoor as amazing as ever and new-to-me narrator Oliver Highpoint doing a great job with the American West accents.
There's no miscommunication here between the two main characters, which is great to see! They both acted their ages and the drama comes from the plot, rather than from the main characters overreacting to things.
I didn't know that Live Love Lasso was a spinoff of an extensive series of books, but the book opens with a very useful Foreword that gives a great explanation of the fantasy world. The Foreword mentions that you don't need to read the other books to read this new one, and after listening to Live Love Lasso, I definitely agree with that. It gave me all the context I needed to enjoy this story.
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Listener Copy from Podium Entertainment but this is my voluntary and honest review.
I really didn't know what to expect going into this, but I bloody loved it! So much so, that it was my top read for February.
This was a mystery inside a monster romance and it was great! The writing is so engaging and easy to consume. I never felt overwhelmed by the immense world building as the author kept repeating facts that were super important or drip-fed the information as the story went on, keeping me informed, and enjoying the journey!
Samantha Brentmoor is my tippy top female narrator for a reason - how she manages to make her voice sweet and sensual one moment and hot and gravelly and manly the next? I have no idea. She nails every bit of emotion, her comedic timing is excellent, and her range is amazing!
Oliver Highpoint's performance was equally amazing! Pretty sure this is my first time hearing him, but it sure as sh*t won't be the last! His gravel and slight southern drawl were swoon worthy for sure, and he matched Samantha's performance so perfectly - I kept forgetting this was in dual!

“You ain't a foregone conclusion, Lemon. But the draw between us is obvious. I asked you out. You said yes. Then you went home to freshen up and put on a dress that’d knock me fuckin’ dead. You wanna get railed into my headboard. Tell me you don’t.”
Hot, adorable, a mishmash of all the fun things you'd imagine from a monster romance set in the Wild West.
The world is unique yet the monsters are pretty run of the mill (minotaurs, gargoyles, vampires, etc) so if you're new to monster stuff, this is good to dip your toes in the water.
And if you're into the cowboy twang, your thumbs are sure to be turnt up.
I’m so conflicted because there were parts that I loved and then parts where I got so bored in that I wanted to DNF multiple times.
The story lacked tension despite it having an underlying mystery plot which could have been interesting. I also found the dialogue to be a bit awkward and unnatural. I swear there was somebody winking, smirking or chuckling every couple of pages.
The town was interesting and some of the side characters were intriguing so I think the series has potential, but this one fell felt for me personally. If you’re into very low stakes insta lust romance then it may be for you.
This was a cute & sexy monster romance (& add some cowboy to the mix too). It was a good listen! I think the narrators really elevated and brought life to this story!
🧪 Monster Romance 🤠 Vampire x Dark Elf 🧪 Mystery 🤠 Cowboy x City Girl
4.5⭐ the chemistry between Lemon and Furyon was on fire from the moment they met, the city girl and the country ranger dynamic was absolutely spot on! I adored this book, the characters were well written, the spice was hooooot and the storyline was addictive, definitely recommend 🖤
I have a few unresolved questions that I’m hoping will come up in the next book but overall, loved it. I miss Ever but PG is so far so good. I love Mabel!!!!
3.25⭐️ 4🌶️ pure monster smut with a dash of mystery on the side🙂↕️
this held my attention, but wasn’t anything to write home about. i’ll probably continue the series when i need something different to avoid a slump, but it was a bit predictable. it also could’ve benefited from some deeper emotional moments between the main characters, and even slightly more significant connections with the side characters that they were friends with.
I loved this so much! I have never, ever read a monster romance. It was crazy! The fucking degradation, and sex, and everything in this book is 10/10! I signed up for this barely knowing anything about this author, but this has definitely introduced me to a whole new world, and I have no regrets! Lemon and Furyon are absolutely fantastic together, and not only that, but their growth, banter, and connection are top-tier! The way Hazel Mack wrote this book made it so easy for me—and will be so easy for other readers—to fall in love with this world and be clamouring for more! Hazel does a great job introducing you to new characters and having you guessing the next story!
Can we also address that Furyon has the sluttiest, filthiest mouth ever! Lord, the things he said were just… phewww. I am in love! This book was cozy, smutty, and entertaining in ways I didn’t know were possible. Our narrators are also absolutely phenomenal. You can catch each emotion, each pressure point within the story. I truly felt that when our narrators were talking, I was either watching a movie or was in their heads. Let’s call it what it is… A MOVIE IN YOUR HEAD! Ms. Brentmoor and Mr. Highpoint—BRAVO. BRAVO, my dears!
I can say there are no notes for this story! i couldn’t get enough and i still want more from them in the best ways! i mean come on people how can we get over lemon and furyon! so well written, excellent production and i have nothing more to say expect please give us more!
This book introduces Lemon, a city-loving vampire potions master exiled to the Wild West inspired monster haven of Pine Gulch after a potion mishap. Here she struggles to adapt to rural life, she clashes with the town’s quirky residents, including the infuriatingly charming dark elf ranger, Furyon, while uncovering a bizarre mystery involving sick animals and hidden magic. The world-building felt overwhelming and under-explained. The haven system, with its sentient buildings, time loops, and various monster species, is creative but lacked clarity. I found myself constantly confused about the rules, the creatures, and even the stakes of the mystery The humor and banter didn’t land for me either, and the romantic tension between Lemon and Furyon felt forced rather than organic. Lemon’s character, a skilled potions master reduced to cleaning, should have been compelling, but her frustration and sarcasm grew repetitive without enough depth or growth to balance it. I also missed the emotional depth and definitive endings I love in stories. The open-ended mystery and Lemon’s unresolved situation left me unsatisfied. If you enjoy lighthearted, quirky paranormal rom coms with a Wild West twist, this might work for you. But for me, it lacked the character depth, world immersion, and emotional payoff I crave. I won’t be continuing the series.
“You’re pretty when you’re mad, you know that Lemon Knox?”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
What you’ll find in this book: - City Girl & Country Boy - He’s Investigating Her - Opposites Attract - Fated Mates - Small Town - Monster Romance - Both Switches - Vampire FMC x Dark Elf MMC
It is no secret that the Haven Ever After series is one of my favourites and I was so sad to see it end, however, Hazel is gracing with a whole new series set in the same world means that I couldn’t be happier to meet new characters and explore more stories in a world I already know and love. I adore the small town and country vibes that permeate this book, it is so far removed from the previous Haven that we have experienced that it gives you that sense of experiencing something new while already having that prior and foundational knowledge of the world. This book was easy to read in the best possible read, I wanted something that felt comforting and familiar with a sense of newness that kept it fresh and engaging and who knew I need a small town cowboy x monster romance in my life?! Taking two major sub genres of fromance and intertwining them in the way Hazel has makes this story work in the most amazing way, and I’m so excited to see what Hazel is going to create with further books within this series.
After a mistake that wasn’t totally her fault, resulted in a very important client being less than impressed and her families reputation at stake, Lemon is sent to study under a potion master in the remote town of Pine Gulch. A city girl at heart Lemon is less than impressed, but she wants to make a good impression so is determined to keep her head down, do what she needs to and then return home. Furyon is seen by his family as nothing more than a disappointment, deciding to turn away from the family business to follow his dreams of caring for animals he is now Pine Gulch’s wildlife welfare officer. When Lemon arrives in town and animals under Furyon’s care start to fall ill with a mysterious illness, Furyon has no other option than to consider Lemon as a suspect. However, when their feelings for one another bring them closer, with their connection going stronger by the day they must work together to prove Lemon’s innocence and save the animals before it’s too late. However, with plenty of secrets to uncover, their blooming romance and Lemon’s romance there is a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it in.
The dynamic between Lemon and Furyon was just what I was looking for, a connection that neither of them can deny, packed full of banter and flirting with a relationship that initially starts as a short term arrangement but that has the potential to be so much more. I was there for the intensity and the spice between these two and how this develops into an emotional connection. One thing I will say is that Furyon has the dirtiest most sinful mouth, it gets me so dang hot under the collar, and it is this that works to wear away Lemon’s defences. More than anything else though, Furyon respects Lemon and comes to care for her deeply in a short space of time and in a way that has me swooning. Furyon quickly becomes Lemon’s number one supporter which includes going up against her harsh family, dishing out a can or reality check for them which was incredibly satisfying. Lemon is perfectly sassy and independent but she has a vulnerable side that she doesn’t let anyone see until she arrives on Pine Gulch finding a community that cares for her and that she cares for in return. I so appreciated that Lemon didn’t change herself to fit in with a community that initially isolated her, but instead continued to be larger than life which allows her to find her people and her place within the town that could be more than a temporary home. Main characters aside I loved Oz and Bluebell and I’m so hoping that they get their own stories at some point during this series, they are the most amazing friends a girl can ask for providing a somewhat found family dynamic for Lemon. We get a glimpse at their brightly shining personalities but I’m so excited to read more about them and their journey to find romance.
I know that not everybody is a monster romance fan, but if you’re looking for somewhere to start on your monster romance journey this book is a perfect fit. Packed full of romance and mystery this book will get its hooks into you and refuse to let you go. The mystery interwoven into the story will have you desperate to find out who is creating the mysterious sickness impacting the havens animals and how Lemon fits into the picture; and trust me when I say the resolution does not disappoint. There are so many characters that could be the cause of the small towns problems that this book gave me the very much who dunnit vibes, and kept me pleasantly surprised. I needed to uncover who was causing anarchy in this small town and the reason why. We have had glimpses into Pine Gulch as a town within the Haven Ever After series, but Hazel continues to build on this part of the world, fully imbuing the town with its own unique vibes that fit with the country and cowboy theme. Hazel continues to have sentient buildings which only adds to this fantastical world that I would journey to in a heartbeat. We also get to uncover more of the magical system of this world within these pages which I thoroughly enjoyed as to me this flat natural and relevant. The epilogues at the end were perfection, and I loved the cameos we got treated to, IYKYK.
Thank you so much to the author for sending me an e-ARC to read and review early.
Author: Hazel Mack Series: Pine Gulch Ever After Publisher: Independently Published Release Date: February 24th, 2026 Pages: 309
TL;DR:While a 3-star rating means I enjoyed this as much as I didn’t enjoy it, I’m genuinely sad that I didn’t love it because I’ve been looking forward to it for months! While I enjoyed exploring Pine Gulch and learning more about its monster residents, I didn’t really fall in love with it the way I thought I would. The same went for our MCs, Lemon and Furyon. While I liked them individually, it took time for me to be convinced of their “fated mates” romance because it felt too instant and forced (at first). I wanted more from their individual arcs—including their friendships and other relationships—and I felt we didn’t get to really see that this time. I think maybe the problem is that there was too much introduced and we didn’t have time to properly explore all of it, so it just felt very surface level to me. Which is fine, of course, but seeing as how much I loved the Haven Ever After series, I expected more! Still, not loving this won’t deter me from reading the rest of the books because I’m keen to see how the other couples play out. 👀
I honestly think if you’re a newbie to this monster world that Mack has created, you might be better served reading the Haven Ever After series. As someone who has read that series, even though the town- and world-building was sparse/glossed over in this, it wasn’t confusing because I’m familiar with the Haven system including the personality-rich “sentient” buildings, magical creatures, and the monster world hidden-in-plain-human-sight. That said, since I’ve read the Ever series, I expected more from Pine Gulch, or PG as residents call it. I had a hard time finding the magic in PG and maybe it’s because Lemon herself was struggling to fit in, but it felt less cosy, welcoming and magical in comparison to Ever. Everyone felt really aloof and maybe not unfriendly necessarily, but definitely not friendly or welcoming! It was a bit disappointing.
As for our MCs, I liked Lemon and Furyon as individuals, but it took time for me to get on board with their romance. I’m sorry to say but I felt so little chemistry between them at the start, and it felt (at least initially) like the ‘fated mates’ trope was used to explain away how suddenly things became sexual! While I’m all for the steaminess of monster romances, I did want more from the character arcs and mystery plot. I would’ve liked to see a gradual evolution from friends to lovers, rather than the sudden lust rush.
I thought Lemon was a strong FMC and I liked how she was confident in her abilities as a potions maker. I would’ve loved to see her doing more of that, even if this was a ‘forced’ apprenticeship and the owner of Glimmer being just as awful as Lemon’s father. I also really wanted to see more of her friendship with her besties in Rainbow and the new friendships she makes in PG with Bluebell and Oz!
I would’ve also liked to see more of Furyon’s friendship/partnership with Echo and Bishop. Echo wasn’t my favourite character, but it also felt like there was something being held back about her character. I did like Furyon as an MMC though, even if I did question whether he did any work… Furyon is meant to be investigating a very serious crime that’s taking place in the haven, and while that does mean spending some time with Lemon to rule her out as a suspect, I felt he was hardly doing work and that lessened the tension and intensity of the mystery. It was no wonder that the mystery wasn’t getting solved. 🤭 And this made the ultimate reveal of the villain and their motive underwhelming to say the least.
That said, once I got on board with their romance, I did think it was sweet how they balanced each other out. Lemon was bolstered by Furyon’s calm confidence, and Furyon’s life was brightened by Lemon’s presence in it. Their devotion to each other was sweet, but I just wished it had more time to cook!
“I want you with me all the time city girl because, I want to show you just how hard a country boy loves.”
This story follows Lemon, a socialite and city girl who, after botching a potion meant for a peer, is shipped off to the small town of Pine Gulch, Montana to learn a lesson. It’s only supposed to be temporary. But when she arrives and comes face to face with a handsome ranger investigating suspicious activity she reported, her short stay suddenly becomes a lot more complicated.
I’m actually obsessed with this story! I haven’t read a monster romance in a while, but I had way too much fun with this one. I was laughing, smiling, and completely engaged in the storyline.
Starting with the audiobook I loved it. Samantha is always brilliant and someone I’ll never get tired of listening to. Oliver was new to me, but his western accent absolutely did it for me. I highly recommend picking this one up in audio.
Lemon is a vampire sassy, bold, and completely full of life. Furyon is a flirty cowboy who absolutely makes you melt. The chemistry and banter between them were top notch. The spicy scenes were delicious, and a special shout-out to the degradation and dirty talk because it was hot as hell. I loved them together.
I also really enjoyed the plot. It had a mysterious edge that added depth to the storyline, and I genuinely did not expect the reveal of what was actually going on.
Lastly, I do want to mention that while listening to the audiobook, I had to concentrate a bit more to fully understand how this world operates and remember who is who outside of the main characters as they have such unique names due to it being a monster romance. I found myself occasionally backtracking to make sure I was following everything. That’s more of a personal issue though as I mainly read romance, so when I step into fantasy or monster worlds, it just takes a little extra focus for me to fully immerse myself.
I do love this book and I look forward to reading more of Hazel’s work in the future!

This was such a good, lighthearted, and fun story to listen to! I’ve never read a book by Hazel Mack, but I’ll definitely be looking into reading more of her books since this was a fun one to listen to. With the story being set in a small town, filled with a range of creatures from vampires, gargoyles, witches, and more there was a wide range of characters. This story also had a bit of the romcom vibes with the way Lemon, our FMC, and Furyon, our MMC met with a slight misunderstanding that started to them gradually growing an obvious attraction for each other. Lemon and Furyon were from different places, but with Lemon, the society vampire coming to the small town where Furyon lived, it became the one place Lemon wanted to stay forever, especially besides the ruggedly cowboy dark elf, Furyon.
I found it easy to just listen to the audiobook as I went about my day doing things, but I’d have much preferred to have the ebook to follow along as an immersive read so I could get a better understanding of the side characters and other details. I’m still getting the hang of just listening to the story, but I find that by having the text in front of it, it helps me more since I’m more of a visual reader if that makes sense. Aside from that, I also thought Samantha and Oliver did a great job voicing Lemon and Furyon, and I was actually really happy to see that Samantha was part of bringing this story to life since I love her work! Oliver brought the rugged, tough quality to Furyon’s voice, and it paired well with Samantha voicing Lemon’s sassy and strong attitude.
I think as a whole, this was a good audiobook and more importantly a great starting point for the series. I can only imagine what else will happen in the future books to come and how things will progress for the side characters who appeared in this first book. I really enjoyed seeing Lemon find her place in the small town, and especially how she found a significant connection with Furyon. I didn’t expect the subplot of mystery, but it actually added a bit more to the plot and slightly raising the stakes in terms of finding out what or who was behind what was happening to the animals in town. Can’t go wrong with this story, and it was fun to listen to. Would recommend if you want a monster romance but add in the romcom vibes, hot, spicy moments, and one of my favorite tropes appearing in this story which you’ll find out about as you read.
