Among the endless, rolling clouds, Fallon has the perfect life. As an angel in Heaven, she spends her days painting sunsets at the cloud farm and baking from scratch to calm her nerves.
The only thing she loves more than her place in the sky is her best friend and fellow angel, Victoria. Fallon values their bond above all else—something the seraphim plan to rectify. When pressed about potential romantic feelings toward her best friend, Fallon is given two deny her true self, or fall from grace.
When Fallon turns up missing, Victoria runs into an angel who is willing to help find her. However, if she wants to see her friend again, she will have to face the reality that her feelings may be deeper than she leads on.
✨ Huge thank you to @audreyosborne for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was such a unique and heartfelt take on angel mythology. The story starts in Heaven, where Fallon lives an idyllic life painting skies and baking to soothe her worries. Her closest bond is with her best friend Victoria, a relationship so precious that the higher angels begin to question it.
When Fallon is forced to either deny her true feelings or face exile, the consequences are devastating. Her disappearance sets Victoria on a journey to uncover the truth, and with the help of an unlikely ally, she must confront emotions she’s kept hidden, even from herself.
What stood out most to me was the gentle but powerful exploration of identity, love, and the courage it takes to embrace who you are. The celestial setting felt whimsical yet tense, and the emotional stakes kept me invested throughout.
The only thing keeping this from being a 5⭐️ read for me was that I wanted more depth in the magic system and the world; it felt a little underdeveloped compared to the richness of the characters and themes.
But don't get me wrong it's a phenomenal story that blends tenderness with high stakes, friendship with longing, and fantasy with very human truths, perfect for sapphic readers!
4.5⭐️ 2🌶️ (sweet, emotional, and light on spice)

Really, really enjoyed this book. My sexuality has always put a barrier between me and religion and this book helped me explore that from a different perspective. Sapphic books are always my favorite for the emotional depth but this added concept/layer of stepping away from religion or even choosing to express your religion in a way that still honors that part of you does a little inner child healing lol definitely recommend if you can identify with any of this rambling
This was a sweet sapphic romance centering two angels who paint clouds in heaven for a living. Adorable premise, kind of read like a cozy romance but with some heavier subject matter and religious trauma mixed in. This was short, sweet, and cute and definitely hit on some important topics but it didn’t resonate with me the way I was expecting it to. That being said, I liked it. I just didn’t LOVE it.
Lovely read! This book remains a cozy read while dealing with topics of homophobia and religious trauma. Feels like the warmth of the sun on your skin, the smell of fresh baked bread, and all the colors of a sunset:)
I finished this book in one sitting! This book is a short one but it has so much emotion! I cried from beginning to end. I know that I’m a sensitive girly but DAMN. Reading this story felt like I was sitting down with both Fallon & Victoria while they’re telling me their story. The love, the friendship, THE SACRIFICES ! This story is one that needs to be read to understand how it made me feel. If you ever get the chance to read this beautiful book, please do. It was such a beautiful story, I wanted to hug both Fallon & Victoria. Don’t EVEN get me started with Emil 🥺❤️ ( I MUST PROTECT THIS MAN WITH MY LIFE!! ) & Theo 🫂 🩶🪽
