Amelia Kensington is ready to climb the corporate ladder. She finished her MBA and landed her dream job in downtown Atlanta. She has to work her way from the bottom up, but she’s more than willing. Until she meets the owner of the company. In less than five minutes, her new boss manages to flip her world upside down with his panty-dampening mannerisms and shockingly good looks.

Cade Alexander can’t believe his good fortune. The stunningly beautiful woman recently hired as one of his company’s assistants is not only sexy as hell, but the perfect submissive. She doesn’t know this yet, but he intends to show her. And he isn’t a patient man. He means to lure her into his world with all haste. As a Dom, Cade has his rules. But the woman of his dreams isn’t a pushover. She has her own rules.

Blending an average middle-class woman with the upper echelon isn’t an easy feat. Cade’s world may prove to be more than Amelia can tolerate. Some complications are insurmountable. Others are unforgivable…

"...the hero was pretty perfect. Even when others put thoughts in our minds that he wasn’t so perfect, I didn’t believe it for a second. He was just so good and caring with her. He pushed her when she needed it and took things slow when he should have. I loved the ways he would make her submit to him. It was dirty, hot and always about her." --Mistress M, SM Book Obsessions

"Becca Jameson does a brilliant job of building the tension between Amelia and Cade. Starting with Amelia, who is in a constant battle with the need she feels for Cade. I love how her analytic mind tries so hard to tamp down her submissive side, yet Cade sees straight to her core. He prompts and prods relentlessly, but her pleasure is always at the forefront of every command." --Lototy, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More

The h starts working in the H’s company. He is her boss’s boss. He notices her and decides that she is the perfect submissive. He gives her errands to buy groceries, wine, flowers, lingeries, and sex toy. She thinks that he is having a date. When she finally gathers all the items she is angry. He knowingly does that. He then tells her that all the items are for her and she will get them when she is ready for them.

After lunch, he tells her that she is his submissive then gives her orgasm and then proceeds on telling her rules of submissive. All the while she is listening but in mind she is ready to give him two weeks notice and run from him.

I liked this book till here.

Then it went downward.

Yeh, she agrees to his rules. Agrees to his f*cking stupid rules.
I wish she would have defied him but her body betrayed her.
I wish she would have told him to go to hell.
But she didn’t.
She did exactly as he told her.
She didn’t wear any panties as he told her to.
She shaved her ..... as he told her to.
She didn’t masturbate as he told her to.

She was a f*cking doormat.

I was no longer interested.
And lastly I wanted to smack a frying pan on the H’s head.

I almost gave up on this. This book didn't deliver almost to the half, then all of a sudden it became sexy.

I'm sure this messed me up for the future. Messed me good. Now I'm going to push through the books that don't deserve benefit of the doubt. Like bad relationships you keep going so you can feel like crap, and noble.

Damn.

The Rules by Becca Jameson is the First book in the Claiming Her Series. This is the story of Amelia Kensington and Cade Alexander.
Amelia knows starting from the bottom in a company won't be easy but she willing to put her time in. But what she didn't expect is for the hot boss to distract her with his hot self.
Cade is a Dom who knows when he meets a submissive and that is totally Amelia their new employee. Cade works to bring her into his world but she might be a submissive but she is a strong women too.
This was a hot, quick easy read.

I hated this book SO. MUCH. that I made this 'throwaway' account just so I could write this review.
This book is utter, irredeemable, bullshit. I could go on and on about how poorly written it is, how no scene is given ANY kind of physical description, meaning everything basically takes place in bland, un-described non-locations, how the author repeats words over and over within the same paragraph, how nothing any character says even remotely resembles the way real human beings interact with each other in reality, but that's not why I'm here.
The main character, and the dude she falls in love with, are two of the most horrendously rendered characters I've ever seen, anywhere. Amelia isn't submissive, she's a fucking paper cut-out. There's a massive difference between getting off on being dominated, and having so little willpower and self-respect that you buckle under the demands of ANYONE even vaguely more "powerful" than you are. This book doesn't portray a dom/sub relationship, it shows an emotionally abusive, control-freak psychopath completely taking over the life of a meek, virginal child. This isn't BDSM, it's Stockholm Syndrome.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with a dom/sub relationship, and if written correctly, these kinds of relationships can be fascinating and beautiful. There is something VERY wrong with a relationship wherein one person makes every decision regarding the other person's life, regardless of their consent to these decisions. It's just bad writing, and it glorifies something remarkably unhealthy. If this dynamic was shown for what it is, abuse, then it could work. But it isn't.
If reading erotica is your thing, that is all fine and dandy. Enjoy it. But that doesn't mean you should settle for subpar writing, for a story so far removed from reality it's more fantasy than a Harry Potter novel.

Sensual, erotic, and the most stunningly romantic love story EVER!
I have not quite finished consuming “THE RULES”, yet I am so in love with its sensual seduction, I had to start the review immediately. Oh my word, author Becca Jameson has the most amazing writing ability! She uses her words and descriptions to seduce her readers! It’s true! I am sitting on my couch, it is early afternoon on cloudy and cool day, and I am so hot and bothered I am seriously considering a cold shower! On second thought I may need a cold bath, not sure a shower is going to do the trick. When Cade speaks it’s like his words are wrapped in velvet, slowly pushing me, I mean Amelia, down into his touch and Amelia’s sensation electric, raising bumps on my, I mean her skin. . . Wow, this book is hot! This reader/reviewer is going to give “THE RULES” ten flames because it is that erotic, that hot; and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would give it ten stars as well! The writing is superb, smooth yet evocative, and the characterization is rich and well developed, even though all that I have read has been solely from Amelia’s point of view. How would you feel if the most handsome man you had ever laid eyes upon, the man you had lusted after for years, told you that he wanted to train you to be his FOREVER on the very first “date”? Yeah, that happened. . . While I was given an ARC of “THE RULES” to prepare this honest, voluntary review, I plan to purchase “THE RULES” the moment it goes live to support this amazing writer. I also plan to put that purchased copy of “THE RULES” in the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle. “THE RULES” is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as one of the best erotic romances I have read, and the year 2018 has shown to be a year of TREMENDOUS reading for romance lovers! I STRONGLY suggest you purchase your copy of “THE RULES”, today. Happy pages! 😉

Cade Alexander: gorgeous, successful, forceful and Dominant. A man who sees what he wants and he gets it. In his sights? Amelia Kensington: fresh out of school with an MBA, beautiful, naive, innocent and submissive . Cade sees her on the first day of her new job at Alexander Technologies and he wants her. Refusing to take no for an answer, Cade methodically breaks down all of Amelia's objections to their having a relationship. She quickly learns the Dom has many rules for her to abide by. Things move along, happily until they don't. A surprise visitor to Cade's home sends Amelia reeling. She literally disappears from Cade's life.

When he finally finds Amelia five months later he tries to steamroll her once again but she's not having it. She's not the naive little sub she was before. After learning the truth from Cade she agrees to be his again but this time she has rules. If he wants to be with her he will have to accept them. The rules work in both their favor and they get their HEA.

I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is an interesting romance with a D/s twist to it. 💕

Amelia is totally caught off-guard when her boss sends her out to do some personal shopping for him... but she's not necessarily opposed to what her brand new boss, Cade is offering when he explains. She's actually quite intrigued but doesn't know what to do because she has a surprise of her own for him. 🤭😉

This storyline is slightly different from the usual BDSM stories and I really enjoyed it. The characters are really well defined and there are several plot twists that will keep you on your toes. And you have to keep in mind, who Amelia is... she's a rather naive and yet, driven, young woman entering the workforce and life, pretty much, for the first time. Cade thinks he knows what he wants until he gets to know Amelia and then he learns how love enters the mix. 💕🔥💕

Becca is a prolific author who writes in many different genres all of which she does superbly. “The Rules” is no exception and once again Becca has given us a captivating erotic five star story. Young, beautiful, shy, Amelia has recently graduated with an MBA and has taken an entry level position with Alexander Technologies. Cade Alexander is a handsome, wealthy, billionaire, a Dom and Amelia's boss. When Cade first sees Amelia he is enthralled by her and wants her immediately. Cade senses that Amelia is a submissive and is intent on training her and making her his forever. A misunderstanding almost ends their relationship before Cade and Amelia can reach their HEA. “The Rules” is a beautiful sensual journey worth taking. One of the best erotic romances I've read.

I really enjoyed this book. Is it my favorite by Ms. Jameson? No. BUT, it is a very good read and I really did not want to put it down. Why the 4 star then? Because I have read more recent books by the author and can tell how much she has grown in her writing.
Amelia has finally graduated with her MBA and got a job working for her dream company. The one company that she would even take an entry level job to get her feet in the door. The owner of that company, Cade, has wanted Amelia since he first saw her. See the issue? The Rules is funny in parts and very high on heat. There is also misunderstandings, vengeful exes, and hiding from the former lover to keep it hoping.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

This is what I would consider a “sleeper story.” It starts out slow and steady and doesn’t heat up until about half way though, but once it does it because this amazing story.

Amelia is a dedicated and smart woman on a mission to reach her goals. She is on track and ready for the future until she meets Cade, her new boss. Amelia learns more about herself then even she thought capable and Cade is the man that shows her. Cade is a typical story alpha in that when he decides something is his he stops a nothing to get it and in this case that is Amelia. I loved the built up of their relationship, the push and pull. The steamy scenes were worth the wait and I loved how the story turned out. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

What an enjoyable read. I absolutely loved the story line and characters in Becca Jameson’s “The Rules.” In the beginning we learn that Amelia Kensington finds Cade Alexander extremely attractive for she a hard time with breathing, fidgety and hard time talking with him. Further along after running errands for Cade she learns he finds her extremely attractive as well. These two characters go through many obstacles, that bring many twist and turns in the book. This was such and enjoyable read that I loved it. I highly recommend this book.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.

When I first started reading this book, I thought it would be like so many other Dom/sub and boss/employee books I had read, but it was so much better than I expected. Amy does submit to Cade, but not at the expense of her career and not in any humiliating, in public ways. They keep their sexual relationship behind closed doors, which I really liked. I don’t want to give anything away, but there was so much emotion in this book that it kept me hooked, plus the sex scenes were different each time which made it much more enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read book 2 in the series!

One thing about Becca's Dominants, they are Alpha to the max and Cade is quite arrogant to boot. More than once I wanted to smack him, and tell him to be more subtle, ease into this relationship not plow into it.

Amelia on the other hand may be submissive, but she is also very naïve with regard to the lifestyle. Which makes this all the more amusing and frustrating.

As Amelia learns about the lifestyle and Cade exerts his dominance, she does find that ultimately she has all the power.

While I may not agree with the way Cade went about things, it did make for an interesting, amusing and sexy read.

Becca Jameson writes the best Dommes and Subs! Amelia (Amy) and Cade were fantastic and sexy! The story line was very engaging and had me turning pages very quickly. The only thing I didn't like (which is not that big of a deal) is the slightly overdone trope of characters jumping to conclusions and running away from situations rather than dealing with them head on. That said that reaction is probably more realistic of how many people would have handled the situation. Great story and can't wait for the next in the series!

Amelia was really enjoying her new job, it didn't hurt that her boss was a hunk. Then one night he approaches her in a bar just to say hi and the following Monday her sends for her. Cade is a Dom and when he saw Amelia he was drawn to her and after meeting her in person he knew she was a submissive. This story is about a woman finding her way sexually with some nasty ex's playing games coursing trouble. Great story line with even greater characters that make you laugh and want to cry, all in all a brilliant read.

From a BDSM standpoint of ethics and all that good jazz, it’s not good...at all. The guy basically just acts from the jump as if she’s his sub, with no prior conversations, no mutual agreements, no nothing. Not a good thing.

However, I’m also tired of reading books where the male lead is the problematic, dark, heavy, and overall uncaring one who needs to be chased after and is unsure as to whether or not the bdsm relationship with the woman is something he can “handle”. In this book, she gets to be the one who is pursued relentlessly, even after she runs away! Which I absolutely love.

Amelia is not sure if she want to know Cade's world.

It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!

Really enjoyed this read. Didn't care for the leading male character for most of the book. Too domineering without discussions first. Worked for them but irked me.

Loved when the break gave her room to grow and get some rules of her owe.

Happy ending.

The storyline had a lot of potential. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough character development for any of the plot to flow well. Things were happening and it seemed to come out of no where. Plot twists appeared random and abrupt.

I liked this book. It was a quick read, but there was time to learn about the characters. This is a book about a D/s. It is a short time into the relationship and we know that it is a love-match and this is going to have a happy ending.
