This book was exactly what my heart needed in this season, and the truths in it are ones my heart needs to be reminded of every single day. The questions at the end of each week created space for reflection, helping those truths sink more deeply into my heart and mind. It was both a comforting and a challenging read in the very best way. Most of all, it helped me fall more deeply in love with Jesus and reminded how He alone satisfies—today, tomorrow, and forevermore.

In You Are Satisfied, Joanna Kimbrel shares eight weeks of devotions for your longing heart. She walks you through Scripture to help you grow in being satisfied in God’s Word, in His promises, in His love, in the Giver, in all circumstances, in His provision, in His presence, and in His plan.

Look to Christ in Your Current Circumstances

Incredibly hopeful and overflowing with joy, this book is grounded in God’s Word. Kimbrel explains the texts with freshness and clarity, using relatable illustrations and practical applications.

I was most challenged by the chapter on being satisfied in God’s provision. Admittedly a very first-world problem, I struggle with being content in my job and workplace. I was exhorted not to look for the perfect job, but to look for Christ in my current circumstances, remembering the wonderful future He has in store for us. In the next chapter, I was reminded that I can find satisfaction in God’s presence—even in my workplace.

Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness

I most appreciated the “Take and Share” sections at the end of every chapter. These short challenges encourage you to take what you’ve learned and share it with someone else. Her prompts help you identify someone specific to share with.

This beautiful book will draw you closer to Christ. Come, eat and drink, and find yourself fully satisfied. As she writes, “Perhaps our satisfaction problem isn’t that God doesn’t give us what we desire, but that we need Him to reshape our desires. After all, if we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we will be satisfied.”

I absolutely loved this study. It felt incredibly timely and spoke right to the heart, gently guiding me to consider where I’m truly finding my satisfaction and pointing me back to Jesus as the only lasting source.

Each devotion is thoughtfully written for women who are navigating deep heart longings, and I especially appreciated the reflection questions. It’s a 40 day format.

They encouraged me to slow down, be honest, and really engage with each topic. The layout is exactly what I was hoping for and more—it made it easy to dive deeper and stay focused throughout.

I also loved how each week explores a different way God shapes and satisfies our desires, through themes like His promises, provision, plan, and presence.

This study truly gave me a heart check and highlighted areas where I want to pray more intentionally and seek growth. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to read an advanced copy. thank you to the author! I’m already looking forward to going through this again with a group soon.

You Are Satisfied uses simple comparisons and I like that. The author takes everyday things and connects them to uplifting spiritual lessons and our deep desires. Her gentle style and friendly voice make the book easy to read.

Each week, the devotional leads you with a main Bible verse, a passage for deeper diving, and thoughtful questions to help you reflect. I appreciate the lined areas to write down ideas and answers.

Overall, this inspiring devotional reminds us of God’s blessings in our lives, His grace is sufficient, and his promises satisfy our soul.

We live in a world that suggests multitudes of ways to satisfy ourselves, but they eventually let us down. Joanna Kimbrel suggests that the way to be truly satisfied is only found in God himself. This 8-week devotional focuses on God's word, His promises, His love, and His plan, among other topics. Too often, I make what I am learning about me, but this devotional brings the focus back to God, and it's exactly what I need. The daily format begins with a scripture suggestion to read, a focus question, and encourages reflection with questions to consider after each daily reflection. It is an awesome balance between the Word and reflection.

This book would make a great Mother's Day or birthday gift!

This was such a fresh look at the truth that we should find our ultimate satisfaction in the Lord. Every week was organized so well, steeped in deep theological truth, and rooted in Scripture. I also really appreciated the heart-probing questions at the end of each week. In this season of busy motherhood, I found each week’s reading/questions completely doable and beneficial.

This would be a great ladies’ group devotional, but it’s also accessible for personal use.

I was left encouraged and challenged in the best way.

Nothing inherently wrong here. This just felt a bit too brief/lacked the substance I was looking for in a devo right now. But if you are looking for short and sweet, it was fine!

I think I prefer a shorter book with a bit longer passages, whereas this was a long book with brief passages. But the content was good!

The name kind of says it all here for this devotion. How can we truly be satisfied in this life that we've been given? The author is a great bible teacher. I was given an e- copy to review (thank you!), but plan on purchasing a hard copy.
