I liked the writing style. I liked how fiercely protective Anton was of Lena.

There was supposed to be a whole backstory, that we did not read. For me that was supposed to be the foundation for all the events happening in this book. We never got to see how their relationship developed or how they fell in love. The book dives right into them banging after meeting again (after 5 years).

The book is actually very fast paced, while I expected a slow burn. There was smut in almost every two chapters right from the beginning, even when they knew they were caught, they still continued. Even after being blackmailed they did not stop. As for someone who is supposed to be the best, he failed miserably at noticing that they were being watched…all the time!
The same applies to his father. He is supposed to know eveything that happens in his house but failed to see that his wife has always been loyal and that his whore wife was whoring around. I find that hard to believe. Even when he suspected Anton was his son he did nothing about it but watched from afar. The suprise pregnancy felt out of place. In the middle of the kidnapping, she was like oh btw, I’m pregnant, now let’s continue being kidnapped. I dont like it when supposedly smart characters are made stupid for the sake of the plot.

I did not like that Lena and her mom Elena had similar names. Or that the granny is introduced as Luda and the next page she is Lyudmila, and then back to Luda again.

I REALLY don’t like that Anton’s name is actually Alexei, and he calls his son Alexei and the MMC of the next book is also called Alexei. There is also a Dimitri and Irina and the Volkov name. Bro!!! What’s with the name recycling? I’m sure it does nothing for the climate.

Overall, I still enjoyed it more that most mafia books I’ve read. But has potential to be better.

This was amazing. It had it all - drama, suspense, love and sex. Lena has one love of her life and it was Anton. She is to marry another man but doesn’t want to. Anton comes back into her life and now she has to pick. Go with her heart or her duty. So dang good!!

I loved the richness of intensity and emotion that powered Lena and Anton's romance. There's plenty of drama, action, suspense and tension too that had me caught in a tight grip and eagerly devouring page after page.
