Trapped by a storm with a killer who knows her every weakness, Lila must solve the deadliest puzzle of her life.
Librarian turned radio station owner Lila Hartley thought hosting a storm shelter would be the perfect way to serve her community in Willow Creek. She never expected it to become a death trap when a killer uses the emergency as cover for murder.
When the power fails and bodies start dropping, Lila teams up with her intuitive cat Whiskers and a sharp-tongued journalist to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, her newest hire keeps appearing at all the wrong moments. Even Lila’s good friend is holding secrets that are raising red flags.
As the storm intensifies and panic spreads through the townspeople, Lila must unmask a murderer who's been hiding in plain sight before she becomes the final victim in a deadly game.
This was another excellent written story about storms and murder. Lila Hartley and Whiskers her cat seem to get involve in more dangerous stories than most people. With some of her friend Zoe her best friend, Mike the security guard, Kyle, Elliott and Hal, Devon they open up the New Radio station to everyone in the community of Willow Creek when a storm warning is sent out as it is one of safes place to be during a rain storm. But unknown to them there is a murderer among them. Mike the security guard is the first to die and now it up to Lila, Zoe , Hal to try and figure out who the murderer is . It becomes clear that it is someone who is out for revenge against anyone who was behind the death of Pauly Gram a know criminal. It takes everythong for Lila and her group to finally figure it out but there is lots of suspense threw the whol story to keep anyone reading right to the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
When a major storm hits Willow Creek, Lila Hartley opens up her radio station as an emergency shelter. Little does she know that there is a killer in their midst. After a coworker is electrocuted by a sabotaged generator and two other coworkers are targeted, Lila must unmask a killer that is hiding in plain sight before they strike again.
Brown has written a fast-paced story that has plenty of twists and turns that kept my attention throughout the book. The plot twist at the end shocked me…I definitely did not see it coming. I have read a few books in this series and I can honestly say after reading this volume, I am not only looking forward to reading the next one, but want to go back and read the ones I’ve missed!
*I received an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The Librarian's Stormy Murders is book #6 in the Lila and Whiskers Mystery series by Rhea S. Brown.
There is a major storm coming, and the radio station is a safe location that many people are coming to for shelter. An unexpected guest shows up, which puts everyone on edge.
This was the first book I’ve read in this series and I definitely have to go back and read the rest. I was a little concerned that I might be a bit lost but that wasn’t the case. I was pulled into this book and could not put it down. There was so much action that you just every time you turned a page something else was happening. I actually did suspect who the killer was but had absolutely no idea why. I was completely shocked at the ending.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Willow Creek is in the path of a severe thunderstorm and everyone is evacuated to Lila's radio station as a emergency storm shelter. Unknown to the group there is someone inside with them that is plotting revenge for the death of a crooked business man. No matter how you try to prepare you can't always plan for someone that is crazy. Great story!
This is a page-turning closed circle mystery. Lila opens up the radio station as shelter from a bad storm, only to find that she has unwittingly locked a killer in with them. There are a number of twists and turns as Lila and the gang try to stop the murderer before there is another victim. I devoured this book in one night.
OK. This is odd, and the second time this morning I seem to have a review vanish- thanks Amazon. 😐 Anyhow, did not expect who the killer was. And people should not wander (or stay) alone when a known killer is on the loose.
