Protecting the VP’s Sister
Kyle is finally getting his chance to prove himself to the Steel Rebels MC when the VP, Knox asks him to go to pick up his sister and bring her back to the clubhouse. Vivienne is scared for her life by her mother’s boyfriend and is in hiding. When Kyle shows up to take her back to Chicago, they start their journey on a long trip home…and to a new life.
This book had plenty of action and the budding relationship between Kyle/Maverick and Vivienne is meant to be. I loved their connection and I was so happy to see them get their HEA in the end. This author always delivers in her books.

A wonderful page turner, Vivienne is the sister of Knox. They meet when Knox asks her to rescue her, They have a instant attraction, I love this series,.

Knox was sixteen when Vivienne was born, and he would do anything for her. Knox left as soon as he became eighteen. He's always stayed in touch with Vivi, with phone calls and visits. But their mother controls their interactions. Vivi must use her mother's phone to talk to him.
Like Knox's father, Vivi's father, husband number two, took off for parts unknown. She then took up a creature named Rick. Vivienne doesn't think Rick even knows her name; he usually refers to her as "brat." Rick scares her.
Ten years ago, Vivi's mother suddenly moved them elsewhere. Vivi never understood why her mother would do so since she never wanted much to do with either one of her children.
Vivi has been working since she was fourteen, doing waitress jobs for the most part. She's been saving her money and plans to run to Knox as soon as she turns eighteen. When she informed her mother and her mother's boyfriend, Jack, of her plans, Jack took all of her money that he could find, claiming she owed them rent money. He ignored the fact that Knox had been sending money for Vivi's care for years.
There's one thing about Knox that Vivi doesn't understand. Her mother preached for years about how horrible the Steel Rebels were. So why would Knox want to be a part of them, and why would he want to serve as an officer? Could her mother have lied? One thing she didn't tell Knox: she's bringing a stolen locked black box that belonged to Jack with her...
Kyle's uncle, also named Kyle, had taken his brother and sister-in-law into his home. He let them have his house, as he could stay at the clubhouse. Kyle was only thirteen when his parents were killed. His Uncle Kyle stepped in to raise him after his parents died.
Kyle is known as Maverick, and he's a prospect with the Steel Rebels MC. He's been a prospect longer than anyone else and still hasn't been patched into the club. He's not happy about that, but there is a reason for it. Although his Uncle Kyle had been an enforcer for the Rebels, he never wanted Kyle to become a member. Did he blame himself for the deaths of his brother and sister-in-law? Uncle Kyle died a couple of years ago, but he did get to see Kyle graduate from college. Per his promise, Kyle was allowed to become a prospect after his graduation.
Vivi contacted Knox to let him know what their mother and Rick had done to her. He told her he'd come to get her. Unfortunately, he had an accident and was unable to do the long drive. He chose Maverick to go in his place.
No one expected this to be anything other than an "ordinary" rescue...

The last book to the Steel Rebels series has come to an end. This time it was Kyle's turn to get his own adventure. I had been waiting on that guy's story with all the errands, running back and forth for his brothers and their significant others for a good while. Now he's here. What I like about Kyle was his loyalty and tenacity. He wanted his place in that MC badly. That jacket. That sense of belonging. So when his VP Knox sent him to rescue his little sister ((it had been 10yrs since Knox and Viv had seen each other)) from the clutches of their awful mother, Kyle was the man to do it.🗺️ 🚗💨💨💨
Kyle wasn't your typical Rebel. He was young, 26, had red hair ((a Ginger)) has his tats but he was pale with freckles. Very different from his other brothers. But b/c he was young, communication wasn't his forte.😂 So in typical guy fashion he fell in lust at first sight with Vivienne who was 18. No worries it did change.
I didn't know how young Viv was going to be. These romances always seem to be an older guy with much younger girls/women. If she had been in her early 20s, had a little more life experience, grew into herself, she wouldn't have been in such a panic at times in the story. That's just an observation. Her communication skills were just as bad as Kyle's.😆😆 She fell in lust too. Which was surprising since she doesn't trust anyone, has fear, especially from her experience from her Mom's boyfriend. It was a little odd since it was one emotion to this one in a matter of minutes. All the other stuff fell away. Except a ton of spice as these 2 made their way from LA to Chicago.😚😚🔥🔥
I got confused about the Rick situation. I knew that was going to happen. There was some action. The box Viv took from Rick had secrets, but... did I miss something? I guess the authorities handled that situation?🤷🏻♂️🤷♀️ Quietly. *Slight spoiler*. Was Rick a serial kill3r?🫢
This story was more smutty than the previous books.😝 Not very good with communication but soon the insta feelings did emerge. I wish there had been more banter. More flirting. Let me get to know you a little more before jumping into bed. Let's build up the anticipation. That's my personal preference.lol We didn't get to see Kyle as Maverick. If that makes sense. HEA? Yes. Years ago, Knox was separated from his younger sister Viv, when their deadbeat mother tried to outrun the debt that she owed the Steel Rebels. Viv is now a legal adult, and she took what she could from her mother’s boyfriend Rick, and what few clothes she had, and ran. She was hiding out in a seedy motel, waiting for her brother to come for her.
Kyle shows up instead. And from the moment he lays eyes on her, he’s a goner. Since she doesn’t have ID (thanks to her addict mother and mother’s boyfriend and their control over her), Kyle and Viv have to road-trip back to Chicago, because you need ID to fly.
Things will, of course, heat up along the way.
Poor Vivian has lived in fear for so long. Her mother’s boyfriend, Rick, has been trying to get in her pants (ew) and has to shove a chest of drawers in front of her door every night to keep him out. She doesn’t know how to escape on her own without getting caught and dragged right back home, so Knox’s plan is the lifeline she desperately needs. If she can only keep her hands off of her hot protector.
Kyle takes about five minutes to fall in love with Viv, but he’s not going to betray his friend’s trust. Or Viv’s. He’s absolutely sure she’s the only woman for him, and he’ll risk anything for her, including his own life. He knows he’s going to get a thrashing when her brother finds out, but he can’t help who he loves, and he loves Viv.
This road trip isn’t without its drama, because you know we’re going to see that confrontation with Rick. Don’t worry too much, though, because this is definitely going to end happily; they just have to survive the jerk that is Rick. And the supposed wrath of Knox. We can’t always choose who we love, or if they’ll love us back, but these two are headed for a better future.

Kyle takes about five minutes to fall in love with Viv, but he’s not going to betray his friend’s trust. Or Viv’s. He’s absolutely sure she’s the only woman for him, and he’ll risk anything for her, including his own life. He knows he’s going to get a thrashing when her brother finds out, but he can’t help who he loves, and he loves Viv.
This road trip isn’t without its drama, because you know we’re going to see that confrontation with Rick. Don’t worry too much, though, because this is definitely going to end happily; they just have to survive the jerk that is Rick. And the supposed wrath of Knox. We can’t always choose who we love, or if they’ll love us back, but these two are headed for a better future.

This is the twelfth and final book in the author’s Steel Rebels MC series and features possibly the sweetest member of the Steele Rebels—Kyle, one of the prospects. (His club name, Maverick, wasn’t given to him until near the end so we only knew him as Kyle for the majority of the book.)
Just as with every MMC in this series as well as all of the author’s other books I’ve ever read, Kyle fell instantly for Knox’s (the club VP) little sister, Vivienne, when he was tasked with picking her up and taking her to Chicago where the Rebel’s clubhouse was located. He wasn’t cocky like a lot of the members but was instead, sweet as he could be. Now that’s not to say he wasn’t still obsessed, possessive and protective, this wouldn’t be a Cassi Hart book if he wasn’t, but he was the epitome of a cinnamon roll hero. Add in green eyes, red hair and a few freckles and *I’m* in love with him!
I’m really looking forward to Ms. Hart’s next series but I’d be lying if said I wasn’t gonna miss the Steel Rebels. I’ve loved just about every one and I hate to say goodbye. Hopefully we’ll run into them again in another interconnected series but for now, Kyle deserves every one of his 4.5 stars!

This is another great story in the Steel Rebels MC saga, and it is a great insta lust, insta love, protection, sensual tension, spicy, a hardened MMC, a frightened FMC, and a love that cannot be stopped.
Vivienne has had a rough life, she is Knox's (the MC Prez) little sister, who has had to live with the junkie mom and a series of sketchy boyfriends, but as she has grown into a beautiful girl, the threats to her safety have increased. She is finally an adult, so she is escaping to the only safe place she knows, her brother.
Kyle is still a prospect in the MC, so he accepts the task to go and fetch Viv. But one look at her, and he knows she is the one for him. His protective instincts, his past experiences let him know that she is real trouble, and he has to be careful with her. However he also knows that regardless of her brother, she is his! From the moment he meets her he recognizes their connection. Her mother has kept her from her brother for all of these years, now that it’s finally her choice she can’t wait to go and see him. She thinks nothing is gonna be as wonderful as being reunited with her brother, that is until he shows up to take her home. He is a young biker with the club, who is every bit as aware of their attraction and chemistry as she is. They both worry about what her brother‘s gonna say when they get back, but there’s one thing they know they belong together. This was a nice addition to the series. This one’s a little bit different because it takes place on the road to get back to the clubhouse, so they have relationship building time outside of the MC and MC family. Once they get back, they have to figure out how to make it work, and with her brother’s blessing. There’s one thing he can can’t do and that’s give her up. They have spice they have sweetness, and they have happily ever after.

This is the 12the book in the Steel Rebels MC series and the bingeable story continues in this book too. In the book, we are introduced to Kyle, aka Maverick and Vivienne. I would categorize this couple’s trope and forbidden love. The MMC has been a prospect for the Steel rebels and has his eyes set on the club’s VP’s baby sister, Vivienne. The story is definitely short, but you get everything you need in a fully engaging storyline. The writing is always good and because of the length of the book, it moves at a fairly fast clip, but it makes the story so bingeable. The characters are developed enough for you to be invested in them and of course, the spice is high quality. I’m not sure how many more books in the series there will be, but I’m very excited for the next installlment.

This book is a great example of how to write an OTT/protective MMC. Kyle/Maverick is so fiercely loyal and trustworthy. So when his VP needs something important handled he’s the obvious choice. Viv has been so much. She doesn’t trust easily and Kyle is exactly who she needs. He would protect her from anyone, including himself. The instant connection they share is beautifully written. He falls hard for the forbidden fruit. Viv needs someone she can trust not to hurt her. Maverick is the type of protector all women who have been hurt need. The action keeps the story going but it’s the love between Kyle and Viv that pulls the reader along. This book is an amazing love story and I highly recommend it if protective alphas who give touch her and die vibes is your thing.

For a short read, Shielded By Maverick certainly contains plenty of steam, action, and emotion, making it a great conclusion to the Steel Rebels MC series and I really enjoyed it.
The the plot of this instalove romance was a good blend of protectiveness, spice, drama and suspense, whilst Kyle/Maverick and Vivienne were both strong yet also sweet, engaging characters with intense chemistry that had me hooked quickly and kept me turning the pages to get to their HEA.
I look forward to catching up with the other titles I missed in this series.

The the plot of this instalove romance was a good blend of protectiveness, spice, drama and suspense, whilst Kyle/Maverick and Vivienne were both strong yet also sweet, engaging characters with intense chemistry that had me hooked quickly and kept me turning the pages to get to their HEA.
I look forward to catching up with the other titles I missed in this series.

It has everything you crave in a Cassi Hart book…drama, thrills, a possessive hero and a sweet heroine whose chemistry is downright HOT!
Viv and Maverick’s story is my favorite of the series. There’s just that something special about them that pulls at my heart strings.
I highly recommend reading the entire Steel Rebels MC Series. They’re all wonderful stories.

When Kyle is assigned with the task of getting his VP's sister and protecting her, he doesn't expect anything but bodyguard duty until he sets his eyes on Vivi and things change. Vivi's life has not been an easy one and the things she has been through has left her scars, but now on the run trying to get to her brother, she is scared but feels safety in Kyle. As they travel across the country trying to get back to safety can Kyle keep his feelings locked up tight or will Vivi break down the walls he has set in place? These two were perfect for each other and watching it all come together was fun and emotional.

This was an awesome finale for this exciting series and I love that Kyle (Maverick) gets his heart's wish and so much more. He's been a prospect for longer than anyone and he's so ready to be patched in ;) He's been sent on a new errand to retrieve Knox's sister, Vivienne, and he didn't expect her to be a beautiful but wary young woman. He's instantly in lust with her but, as they go on their adventure, they learn to communicate better, letting trust, self worth and hot chemistry build between them. I love that they got their HEA together and this was the perfect ending to this series. I can't wait for what's next by this author :D

Shielded by Maverick pulled me in fast and didn’t let go. Kyle (Maverick) is all quiet determination and loyalty, and Vivienne is stronger than she gives herself credit for. Their road-trip setup creates instant tension, and I loved watching trust grow mile by mile while danger stayed close behind.
The forbidden aspect adds just enough angst, and the MC backdrop gives the story grit without overpowering the romance. It’s protective, emotional, and very swoony, with a satisfying HEA. If you enjoy lite MC romance, off-limits attraction, and heroes who fall hard, this one is an easy recommendation.

Shielded by Maverick was a great read by Cassi Hart. :When Vivi is finally able to escape her mom and her creepy boyfriend, she is expecting her brother Knox to come for her. She hasn't seen her older brother since their mother took her away when she was little girl. Instead Kyle, her brother's friend and Steele Rebels prospect picks her up. Kyle promised he would protect Vivi and deliver her safely to Knox but falling for her was not part of the plan. Kyle believed he would do anything to become a patched member but Vivi has him doubting his priorities. The chemistry between them is explosive but he is willing to risk his chances of finally becoming a Steele Rebel?

Viv finally gets to see her big brother, the man who has protected and cared for her since she was small. After 10 years apart, she managed to leave her mother and Rick and run. Kyle, prospect for Steel Rebels is assigned to go and rescue her, keep her safe and bring her to the club..only he didn't expect to find this attractive young woman. As the journey takes place, the attraction on both sides develops and keeping her close is not difficult, but his worry Is Knox. Being a MC brother is his goal, but Viv is his future.
