This enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance follows a strong-willed, sword-wielding heroine who takes control of her own destiny.
The embers of revolution have spread... and set the people of Albion ablaze.
Having been rescued by revolutionary leader Logan Taylor, Prince Kenneth joins the rebel uprising against the monarchy and Theo Eclipse. However, Logan’s radical ideals—as well as his vision for Albion’s future—may prove irreconcilable with Kenneth’s own. If not for the citizens of Albion’s sake, what is the true purpose of Logan’s revolution...?
Meanwhile, held captive at the Eclipse’s estate, Anna learns that Lady Isabella and Theo have devised a plan to wipe out the rebel army—and possibly send the nation into all-out war. But in order to help Kenneth before it’s too late, Anna must first escape the manor and rally forces of her own...
The Margrave’s Daughter heads into battle to rescue her foolish Enemy Prince!
I truly felt the intensity of the change brought about by this revolution and just how many lives are at stake! Plus ANNAAAAAAA!!
If you need a woman who can handle it and get things done, this manga is really one I would recommend! Seeing her stand up during a line of fire with no fear and leading the men with her gave me goosebumps! (Still does just thinking about it!) She is strong, but not prideful, and goes all out while keeping those around her safe. Truly incredible to see such an amazing heroine like her!
Anddddd
I LOVEED seeing Theo getting angry! Go ahead, get MORE angry because all these little schemes and control you have are starting to vanish, and that will only continue! I am SO ready to see it because man out here calling someone else a schemer and I'm like, have you LOOKED in the mirror??
On a slightly different note, I really struggled with that scene between Anna and her mom. My inner momma bear was itching to come out with her Mom's words and actions…
This volume was definitely more bloody than previous volumes and did have one language bomb that had me shocked because we haven't seen ANY kind of language like that thus far! So heads up to those who are reading the series!
Overall, a really, really good volume that is having me fired up alongside everyone in the changes that are sure to happen VERY soon!
Anna, the titular Margrave's daughter, is the odd one out in her family. She takes after her father and is more interested in weapons and warfare than she is in being a lady. When things go wrong on the battlefield against the enemy kingdom, Anna is given over to the enemy kingdom's general as peace offering. Anna has no intention of going quietly and when she finds herself in a violent situation with the general, non other than the enemy prince comes to her aid. The prince, however, has his own plans for her.
The art is absolutely beautiful and this is a promising start to the series. Anna is so far quite the typical arch type character of noble lady who would rather swing a sword, but I definitely like her so far. There is a good balance between humour and dark scenes that make the stakes feel reasonably high. The prince's motives are hard to read so I think this series will offer interesting romance dynamics.
Hmm this one was okay. It focuses on Anna and it’s kind of sad. Her mother is awful. We also got to see her in battle and that was interesting but also confusing. I didn’t understand who the foe was. The ending was confusing as well.
So my number one complaint is how short the volume feels. I feel like I barely started reading it and it was over already... I think it took 30 minutes to read? Anywho, with the pricing of the volume and how long you have to wait between volumes I almost feel like the dollar value is exceeding the reading value. So maybe this would be a good one to check out from the library?
Moving on, I felt like adding that trigger warning because I was being triggered by it. I know what it feels like to have very uncomfortable relationships with my parents and seeing the way the mother was treating the daughter in this particular volume actually caused some triggering for myself. So, if you have a bad relationship with your parents that can be triggered by things that remind you of it... Be prepared?
As for the story in this volume, I feel like very little progress was made and there was a part near the end that I honestly don't even understand what was happening and who was on what side and so on. So really, this volume felt like a confusing hot mess.
