Enzo: Troubled Sinners

Rate this book
Enzo Thompson is the silent by choice, brooding, impatient, and a dash of crazy, who goes by E, and is the Vice President of the no-nonsense motorcycle crew called Sinners.

He lived a semi-peaceful life since his mom died when he was 8. Now at 28, when he isn’t working at the tattoo shop or riding with the Sinners, he stays out of the way, usually hiking or at “The Den”. He has no use for women other than for a release.

Brelynn Deveraux is the feisty and spoiled little sister to Sin, E’s best Friend. She just found out her fiancé has no concept of the word LOYALTY, and yes, he cheated. When he refuses to pack his bags, she calls in the big guns. Her twin brother, Deuce, and their older brother, Sin.

But Sin and Deuce are tied up (probably not legally), so Sin sends in backup. He sends his best friend, E. Brelynn’s known him for a decade… and yet they never exchanged a single word. Not one. Until now.

One night flips the script and maybe their whole life.

She’s off-limits. He’s strictly forbidden. But when forbidden fruit is dipped in leather and rides a motorcycle, let’s say, resisting gets real complicated.

E isn't about to let her go quietly. Not without a fight. Not without chaos. And definitely not without passion.

Love. Lust. Loyalty. Revenge. And moments that will leave you breathless.

Buckle up, Buttercup! This ride doesn’t come with brakes.

B. Nicole states in the synopsis “This ride doesn’t come with brakes” and let me just agree with those sentiments because this story was definitely all gas no brakes!! From the very beginning, I was engrossed into Enzo’s story as well as intrigued with the Troubled Sinners.

Enzo’s story was sometimes heartbreaking but his resilience made me love him even more & the love he had for his Nana was unmatched. I was excited to see the love story unfold between Enzo & Brey - but make no mistake, this was not a love story. This was hood & gritty in the best way possible!

Can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series with this motorcycle club, Sin & Deuce stole a little piece of my heart too & based on the way book 1 ended, nobody’s safe!

Everybody needs to hide, even the goldfish.

The synopsis pulled me in and did not let go. Enzo had it rough from the very beginning, endured a lot with his trash ass daddy, but he came out fairly unscathed on the other side. With his Nana picking up the slack, he grew into a man she could be proud of. Meeting Sin and becoming part of the Sinners, gave him the family he lacked and added purpose to his life. He worked and stayed to himself, until a favor changed everything.

Bre, seen as the spoiled brat sister of Sin and Deuce, was just misunderstood. She too had a difficult childhood after a huge loss. She is longing for love from someone other than her brothers and is still grieving. However, when Enzo saves her from her ex, and they actually talk and spend time together; the spark is lit! I loved how they turned nothing into something special with the quickness. Enzo did not play about her.

Now here comes the ish! I was glad that business was handled with Demetrious, Earl, and Chris, but why not Carter too? 👀😤 You couldn't have thought that he would let that ish ride like that! 🤯
Not Nana.... 🥹 Lawd, the Sinners are coming for blood now, and I'm here for every second of it.
Enjoyed this read. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Hey, hey, my favorites 😁💚. #annieethebookiee is back with another book review.

📖 Enzo: Troubled Sinners (Book 1) by B. Nicole Anderson
⭐ 5 out of 5 stars

Whew! Y’all… when I say B. Nicole Anderson snapped when she created Enzo? Geeeeeez. This man just marched right up and claimed his spot as my new book bae.

This was my first read from B. Nicole Anderson, and wow...I’m officially locked in for the series. The writing hooked me from the first chapter, the pacing kept me turning pages way past my bedtime, and the chemistry? Off. The. Charts. 🔥

What I loved most (spoiler-free, promise!) is how the story balanced intense, protective energy with real depth. Enzo isn’t just a brooding lead; he’s layered, complex, and magnetic. The heroine brings her own strength and refuses to fade into the background, together, their dynamic is addictive.

If you’re into slow-burn tension, protective heroes, and heroines who can hold their own, this book will have you fanning yourself and plotting when you can dive into the next one.

B. Nicole Anderson, I salute you. Enzo is THAT guy.

🥃 ARC Review: Enzo (Troubled Sinners #1) by B. Nicole Anderson
Rating: 4/5 stars Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (High heat with intense emotional stakes.) Reviewed by The Bourbon Sipping Bibliophile

If you’re looking for a romance that hits you like a shot of high-proof whiskey, look no further. Enzo is a gripping introduction to the Troubled Sinners trilogy, and it’s exactly the kind of contemporary Black romance I crave: gritty, emotional, and absolutely swoon-worthy. B. Nicole Anderson has a gift for making me feel instantly connected to her characters, even when they are navigating the darkest of circumstances.

🥃 The Pour
The story centers on Enzo, a man whose name alone suggests a certain dangerous gravity. As the first book in a trilogy, it sets a high bar for the "Troubled Sinners" we are about to meet. I was immediately pulled in by the warning of mature themes—this isn't a lighthearted romp; it’s a story with teeth.

I loved how the author balanced the urban contemporary grit with moments that made me laugh and cry. Enzo is the quintessential "troubled" hero, but his journey toward connection is what kept me turning the pages. The uniqueness of the narrative voice made the chemistry feel fresh and the emotional payoff deeply satisfying.

🥃 The High Notes
Raw Connection: The author's stated goal is to make the reader "feel connected to the characters," and I can confirm she succeeded. Enzo feels like a real, flawed, and magnetic man.

Atmospheric Tension: The "Urban Black Romance" vibes are strong here. The setting feels lived-in and adds a layer of realism to the high-stakes romance.

The "Swoon" Factor: Despite the triggers and the "sinful" nature of the characters, the romance is undeniably steamy. I found myself holding my breath during the more intimate encounters.

🥃 The Low Notes
Because this is a trilogy, the story leaves you wanting more—specifically, more of the overarching mystery. While I appreciated the "Coming Soon" teaser for Sin’s story, the wait is going to be a struggle! There were a few moments where the pacing felt a bit fast, but the emotional intensity more than made up for it.

🌺 Overall
Enzo is a bold, "unique" contemporary romance that doesn't shy away from the messy parts of love. I recommend this to anyone who wants their romance with a side of danger and a hero you can’t help but root for.

The Bourbon Sipping Bibliophile's Drink Pairing
🥃 The Troubled Sinner (Spiced Blackberry Gin Fizz)

While I usually lean toward bourbon, I chose this refreshing but dark-hued Gin Fizz to represent the "Troubled Sinners" world. The deep purple of the blackberries mimics the "urban" aesthetic and the emotional weight of the story, while the gin and ginger provide a sharp, clean "swoon" factor that cuts through the grit.

The Troubled Sinner Ingredients
Ingredients (in order for preparation):

5-6 Fresh Blackberries (for the dark, troubled soul)
0.5 oz Simple Syrup
2-3 Fresh Mint Leaves
0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
2 oz Premium Dry Gin
Top with: Chilled Ginger Ale (or Club Soda for a lighter touch)
Garnish: A single Blackberry and a slapped Mint Sprig

The Method (Mixing the Sin):
In a sturdy glass, muddle the blackberries, simple syrup, and mint leaves together until the berries are completely broken down and the juice is dark.
Add the lime juice and the gin.
Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well to ensure the blackberry color bleeds throughout the drink.
Top off the glass with ginger ale to add a bit of effervescent spice.
Garnish: Add the blackberry and mint sprig, serving it ice cold to provide a refreshing contrast to the heat of Enzo’s story.

I think this book was brilliant it was well written ,fast paced the main characters where likeable and relatable and I loved how the author didn't dull down the dialogue she kept it real and authentic.
The FMC is Breylnn or princess as Enzo calls her. Bre is misunderstood, she appears stuck up but really she's a lover, who wants someone to see her like really see her, she has a kind soul and would do anything for anyone but isn't afraid to fight for what's hers.
Enzo is a lover, he doesn't do relationships because the only relationship he wants is the one he'll be forever with. He tries to resist Bre because she's his best friends brother but he can't they're drawn to each other, Enzo is deeply protective and there both abit possessive of each other. Both of them have PTSD and other issues and both heal each other I loved Nana and I'm fuming with her plot line... I also liked a lot of the other characters and some of the characters got exactly what they deserved even if deuce does his work in a messy way. You'll have to read to find out because I don't want to spoil the plot what I can say is it's worth the read and I can't wait for the next book. I want to learn more about sin he was a intriguing character.

Urban romance has really been pulling me back in, and Enzo gave exactly what it needed to. Biker gangs, betrayal, tension, and men who move in silence but stay ready? Yeah, it had me hooked.

Bre’s reeling after a messy breakup with her ex, Demetrius, and just when things start spiraling, her brothers call in Enzo for help. And let me just say—Enzo? That man is pressure. Quiet, protective, and solid. You can tell his Nana had everything to do with that. After his mother passed, she stepped in and raised him right. The love she poured into him shows in how he moves, especially with Bre.

Their chemistry was intense but felt earned, and the emotional beats hit just as hard as the spicy ones. But look… I gotta say it—Deuce was my unexpected favorite 😭. He didn’t need to bark to prove himself. Always on go, always loyal. I need a spinoff or something, because whew.

And that cliffhanger?! Yeah, I need answers—immediately. Especially with all the tension between the Sinners and the DC Knights. I already know the next book is going to be messy in the best way.

I love a good slow burn but in real life I looove a straight forward situation and this gave that. Brelynn is the sister of Enzo’s best friend, when trouble calls and her brother couldn’t get to her fast enough Enzo was there with time to spare. From there they both were throwing little flirty gestures and looks and that’s when the tension began! I wasn’t able to put this one down, She did her big one on this!!!! I personally was ready to lay to rest a whole gang of people 🤬😮‍💨 but beside those mfs, I loved every other character, everyone stood on business in this book. If they said they were going to do something they did it without second guessing. This was a naturally realistic story for me like Enzo IS my husband in real life when it comes to his girls, you don’t want no smoke I promise!!
But Enzooooooo Edward Mf’n Julius Thompson can I pull you for chat real quick 👀 I promise Princess Brelynn I don’t want no problems. lemme meet yall at the Den one night 🤭🥵

This is the author’s first book? I’m impressed. Loved the characters. Enzo and his Princess are fun and like-able. I also love that crazy Deuce and sweet Nana. The author could make bank if she included some of Nana’s recipes. None of the main characters has had an easy life or a great childhood, but they got themselves together and built strong lives and unbreakable friendships.
I loved the relationship between E and Brelynn, but the friendships and family were something special. Brelynn has her girls, and E has the guys, and these friendships are unbreakable and limitless.
If violence triggers you, you might want to find a nice Amish romance, because this book has definitely got some violence. But I didn’t find it excessive or gratuitous.
There is a cliffhanger, which doesn’t thrill me, but there will be two more books coming soon, which does. I can’t wait to see what this writer does next.

If standing on business was a book, it would be this one. The Sinners stood ten toes down and did NOT play about their people. Let me just tell yall, I love instant attraction, I love straight to the point, I like you, you like me, let’s just be together 😂 although it wasn’t so easy at first for E & Bre to be together. E knew exactly what he wanted and he was going to get it. Bre deserved the princess soft life & Edward 😂 gave her just that.
This book had the perfect amount of spice, the perfect amount of drama and action( i wanted to get on Motorcycle and ride out with them🥵) It was so many parts that I was CRACKING UP ( courtesy of DUECE dumb self 😂) & I actually teared up a little 😭😭😭😭😭 ( I might never emotionally recover 😂)

Overall for this to be the Author debut Novel it was amazing and I’m so proud of her.
I need book TWO by TOMORROW 😂

Bre (breylynn) had a messy breakup with her ex who doesn't take the break well even though he cheated! When things escalate she calls her brothers Sin and Deuce they cant get to her quick enough so Sin sends his best friend and VP Enzo. Enzo likes the quiet life being brought up by his nana after his mothers death at a young age, she brought him up well. When Sin calls he answers not knowing how much his life would change when he sees another side to the fiesty Bre. Shes off limits but Enzos will go to any length to have her as his and show hes the perfect one for her. Well written engaging steamy desires slow burning and more! A cliffy for sins book to continue

Enzo is absolutely mine ladies, he’s taken, thank you very much! ☺️ This was my very first motorcycle series and it did not disappoint. The story had me hooked from the beginning, full of grit, passion, and just the right amount of chaos.Enzo and Nana easily became my top favorite characters their bond, strength, and energy carried the book in such a powerful way. B. Nicole Anderson really delivered with this one, and now I’m officially invested in this series. If you love drama, loyalty, and unforgettable characters, this is the ride you want to take. 🏍️🔥

Just finished this and I am fully invested in @b.nicoleanderson.writes’ journey. I already know I’ll be rereading it before the month is over. What a perfect way to kick off a trilogy — I don’t have a single note! The pacing, the storyline, the character development, the spice? 10s across the board. I’m locked in and can’t wait to see what the future holds. Enzo and Bre were a matching max in spice heaven. 👏🏾✨📚

A truly FANtastic read! The biker and the off-limits woman who loves him.
