THE WOMAN, THE LOVE, THE DEATH. This evocative three-part poetry collection dissects early womanhood, relationships, and loss. The question, “Is it worth it to love, if loss is inevitable?” is vaguely asked and answered. No matter how this collection finds you, we hope you find empathy, imperfection and room for growth throughout it’s pages.
Mattie Paige's debut poetry collection is a beautiful weave of the emotions we all experience. From enthralling possession over one's lover, to the grief of losing someone you never had, to the blissful joy of finding your ideal match, to the comfort of fitting into one another. Her poems range from dark and thought-provoking to soft and heart-warming. The three sections properly align the poems with matching tone, so the reader knows what they're about to indulge in.
This collection is perfect for anyone who understands the charm, hurt, lust, safety, isolation, and authentic love that come with the messy engagement of romantic relationships. There are also a few poems that explore mental health, which I really enjoyed, as they helped me feel seen and understood.
Some of my favorite poems are: Coffee with a friend Happy days note Anger so pretty Messes are mine Give me you The lace of death The sounds of mourning
I absolutely loved this collection of poems!! Mattie does such a beautiful job at weaving emotions and words together on pages that really seem to hit home in the best of ways. There are so many different experiences explored in these pages, and I found myself absolutely consuming it because I could really follow the story.
