Blake University: Leader and Calista
Going to college on a full-ride scholarship to her dream school was the best way to start the new school year. Besides not having to pay anything out of pocket, Calista Glee also got to choose her preferred housing. It was an okay read but I get insta love but I feel like authors forget to show us how or why we’re here. I personally don’t mind that love at first sight vibe but give us a chapter or two to show us why it’s like that. Expressing attraction isn’t enough, I need dialogue. Like basically it was one date, them hanging out a lot (we ain’t see it til he took her virginity). Like as a reader I need to feel giddy lmao like ohh this so cute and sweet I see why we here. I also couldn’t rate it higher because why are you writing a series within a series? Like this is already an anthology featuring a bunch of different authors in the same universe type vibe so why are you using this a whole new idea/area/ theme to fold it back on to other books you are writing ? The next book not even ready so yeah. Lisa is super talented and I can enjoy some of her work but I feel like she doesn’t really write palpable romance. You know the feeling of like reading a book and you blushing lol you like OMG THIS IS SO CUTE,or have you swooning and melting, having you like okay girl I see how we got here. It never gives that it’s like you watching something unfold but thinking oh baby they aren’t bright the whole time. I also felt like she didn’t give enough about either girl or the older sister to make you wanna see what’s to come.

Who ends a book leaving people in tears?!?!?!

This book was so good. I can't even be too mad at the ending because my girl was right...you can speak things into existence. I can't wait for Glow's story. I just k ow the girls are going to become successful medical professionals. I really like and respect Leader. He's a good guy that I hope we get to see more of in the future.

Needed more but great book sad he went to jail because she would have took that shit with her but I understand, it was a good book and glad they stay focus on school need to see her become a doctor and nurse I wish we can see it through after school

Leader and Calista, My First Love
I almost flipped my WHOLE WORK STATION over!!!…
Imagine minding your own business and out of nowhere you are chatting with ppl you don’t know!!!…You are working to live your dream of becoming a doctor and you meet a man, fall in love and you give him your everything, even though he doesn’t feel worthy!??…
You speak life into him and have him believing he can be all that you said he can be, only for him to suffer a consequence because of his son’s mother!!!…
Life changed for a lot of ppl because of his child’s mother and she’s still free to be her!!!…
Amaya dirty ash needs a consequence for her behavior!!!…Why try and fight a person while they are driving!!!…To be kicking the steering wheel!!!…
She was a person that had nothing to lose and knew she had a man that would protect her, despite her actions!!!…

Sadly, “Blake University: Leader & Calista” (4.25 ⭐️’s) was too good to be persuasive. IE: $5K for seafood takeout 🤔. Ummm NOPE 🙂↔️‼️Contrary to popular opinions there are no short cuts (especially for AA males or people of color) to achieve wealth & prosperity (legally) in this world. Leader & his family were sloppy, reckless & knew the risks involved with sustaining their lucrative criminal enterprise & lifestyle 🥴🫣🤦🏾♀️‼️Nevertheless, hopefully, he’ll use his sentence wisely to dream realistically, constructively for a productive transition for hisself, his son, his family & his future endeavors. A good read, but sad even for fictional characters🤷🏾♀️‼️

Omg this standalone is so lit. I'm was glad my girls found love. But I hate they fit their heart breaks. But i think my boy leader and my girl Calista can get back together when he so his bid. They really had to a true love story going on. His babymomma is a peace of work, and I can't stand her cause of what she had done. U did all of that hitting, and u had that white girl u stole from him. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read

I can’t wait to see what happens next with Leader and Calista his Cali Glee && Pretty Mama since he ended up having to do a 10 year bid after his baby momma, Amaya, tried to steal three bricks from him and then the police got behind them after she was spazzing out because he told her that he loved Cali. Legend’s brother, Emperor, was with Cali’s best friend, Blayke, but their relationship ended the same night as Leader and Cali’s because of Amaya so Blayke got an abortion. Cali Glee’s older sister, Glow, requested that they come spend the summer with her in Jagoda Bay which is going to be Glow’s book, The Mob: Shio Cuppacio, is coming soon.

Hear me out! You know how most novellas are good or sometimes great, but not absolutely amazing? Well this one was ABSOLUTELY amazing! Exceeded my expectations and now I’m attached to these characters. 😩 The character development is insanely good and I will forever think about Calista Glee & Leader! I also wouldn’t be mad if we got another book from them, after she graduates from Med school. 👀
Side note I definitely crashed out at the end 🫢
Everyone go read this now! It’s a quick day read, that had great spice and I definitely recommend! 💖

Insta love. A nice short read. Lisa Austin doesn’t slip.
I liked that Cali Glee had a sweet and thoughtful birthday gift for this man she had just met. Leader wanted to make sure that Glee knew her worth and asked for excellence from men whether it was him or another man.
Leader knew that he would go out in one of two ways. His lack of dreams led to him not fighting for what he wanted. He seemed to make his decisions with the hope of Glee making her dreams come true. He didn’t have any dreams. He became the bad guy in the eyes of Glee and the law. His life was determined.

Despite this being a young love novella, I was really expecting a different kind of story for Cali Glee and Leader. Add to that the last 2 chapters are full of messiness and disappointment. Those boys should have left those girls alone- because WHAT WAS THE REASON to make them fall in love and then become trash AF men to them? Ugh! I am highly disappointed that this is the route the author took for these characters and I am not a fan of this story at all.

Awesome Read
Glee went to school green, but learned so much at a fast pace. Leader knew that he didn't need to be with her, but she owned his heart and mind. Although, their relationship was short, the love wasn't. Amaya never meant him any good. Blayke learned about life the hard way and was just ready to pursue her education. This was an amazing story.

I loved the characters but I hated the ending. Why Leader had to go out like that? I just wanted to punch Amaya lights out for doing that dumb ish all because of jealousy. This is why people shouldn’t have children with just anyone. I hope Leader and Glee can come back together in a few years.

Young love is so hard and then throw in a old bird of a baby mama- that drama?! Whew! This book was so good and it was a little break from the Cuppacios. Leader just as messy though. Lord, these men! I cannot wait for an update on Leader and Calista…second chance romance 🤭

Calista was wet behind the ears. Leader gave her the real though. I loved his support and how he allowed himself to step back and let her flourish.
