A FRAMED MAN. A BROKEN LAWYER. AND A SECRET THAT TIES THEM TO A DEADLY CONSPIRACY.How long can a man hide a secret before he breaks?

Brian Watson is a man on the edge. Hiding a secret for the better part of a decade has cost him almost everything, and when he’s accused of the brutal murder of his neighbor, it appears as if this ticking time bomb has finally exploded. But the open-and-shut case authorities believe they have quickly unravels when a rogue lawyer begins digging into the background of a man linked to the city’s underbelly.

Ben Carter is a man out for vengeance. After losing his wife and unborn child to a hit-and-run driver years earlier, a random clue suddenly thrusts him into the most critical case of his life. Faced with defending a man he swore to cut off completely, this lawyer is about to take on the mob, the cops, and anyone else dumb enough to get in his way. Will he finally uncover the truth, or is this a secret some consider worth killing for?

Final Defense is a heart-pounding courtroom drama full of intrigue and deception where the stakes are life and death. Perfect for fans of John Grisham, Michael Connelly, and James Chandler.

Great read

I gave 4 stars however it deserves more in my opinion. I would say a 4 ½ stars for me as I have grown a wee bit addicted to Ben Carter. I am ever so grateful there’s another book as I am excited for the next turn with their own practice both Ben & Elsa so yep I’m hooked can hardly wait for Book 5 😊

Decent, and fast...

This was either an Amazon or goodness suggestion from my page of Christian suspense and thrillers. This was a who done it with some suspense, but it's not Christian and held the language in check till I had read 25-30% of book. With just a little restraint, it could have been more entertaining. Life and learn....

This book is great

This story has it all. It was complex with numerous characters that just all worked together. I liked the new direction that Ben takes as he allows himself to look at life beyond losing his wife. The drama as the book goes on will encourage you to keep on reading to the last page. Great story.

Confusing..

The first four pages of this book had so much information without anything to relate it to that I found it confusing and it started to piss me off. Finally I stopped reading because none of it made sense and I knew there was no way I could retain every single bit of all that disjointed information so at a certain point I didn't even care..

I really do love the Ben Carter stories. The way the stories weave their way through, you really do not know where they will pop up. But more than that the books are really well written and an absolute pleasure to read.

All I can do is thank my friend for introducing the amazing series and thank David Archer bringing me such enjoyment.

Found it bit slow at first but then it took off with a bang. Ben Carter reluctantly takes on murder case involving his late wife's father. Bad blood between them. As court case evolves, the action starts with mob involved. Final twists and fearce action. Well worth reading.

Tighten up your editing.

This story, while entertaining, contained inconsistencies. Example: Altera kidnapped Ben from parking garage, he took away Ben's phone. Yet, later the cops rescue Ben and he takes his phone from his pocket to make an important call. Sloppy.

what a finish

Ben discovers not only something about himself and others in his circle.

The story wants you to continue reading and consider what may come about.

Different

Liked the fact that the main character was talking to the reader. Sometimes I felt like answering his dialogue
