This is really two books in one, which the author is upfront about in the beginning, but I found the quality of the advice varied greatly between them. The first half (or really 2/3rds) of the book looks at investment strategies, and goes through a wide variety of concepts to consider from simpler stuff like bonds, annuities, and dividend stocks, to more complex ideas like covered calls and cash-secured puts. While the book isn't long enough to explore each of these in extreme detail, there are tons of links to resources that will do just that; I have about 20 new saved tabs I've been meaning to research when I get the chance, so these chapters were great as starting off points. Hell, I'm actually considering REITs and closed-end funds for the first time!

The latter half of the book focuses on business strategies, kind of 'set it and forget it' ideas that require a bit of initial effort but could potentially have long tails that might trickle in revenue for months or years. Things like writing a book and self-publishing it on Amazon, print-on-demand services you see on Etsy and the like, and shilling - sorry, affiliate marketing - other people's products or services. I found myself breezing through these chapters because I and everyone I know in my cohort actively ignore and avoid these kinds of influencer content or low-quality products, so I'm not convinced these are viable path for income. Easier than getting a loan and starting your own small business? Definitely, but why do all that when I can just ride a dividend ETF off into the sunset and not have to pester my friends to look at my storefront?

This book also came out two months ago in March of 2026, and is the first time I've seen an author provide suggestions for prompts a reader can feed into an AI LLM model to further explore topics. Maybe it's a sort of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" situation we'll start seeing more of in the future, but damned if it didn't catch my attention.
