Alistair Boyle's The Missing Link is a great book! The protagonist, Malvin Stark aka Gil Yates, is relatable, and the villain, Michael Hadaad, provides a strong contrast. As I read the book, I found myself waiting excitedly for what would happen next. Definitely don't miss this story, especially if you like stories about detectives and about broken family relationships.

The bumbling P.I. who isn't a P.I. takes the job to find a rich man's daughter, Gil Yates is the picture of the hen-pecked" husband, "hen-pecked" employee. When a chance encounter allows him to live out his fantasy of being a PI you will be surprised at the results. Good mystery, funny and a fast read.
