What an absolute piece of shit! I have no one to blame but myself. I got sucked in the second I read the word "Alaska" in the synopsis. I love reading novels that take place in the snowy state. That being said, this is one novel I wish I'd never come across. Seriously, just when I think I've read something so ridiculously cheesy, up pops another one that's even worse. Don't know what bugged the crap out of me the most. The stupid plot or the asinine and cliché dialogue. I will admit that it started off well, but it soon took a nose-dive straight into the mountains. God, I should have my head checked. I should've stopped reading half-way thru but like a car accident that you can't look away from, I continued on.

The heroine, Holly, is a musher and while out in the wilderness, the weather turns for the worse, and she ends up trampled by a bull moose. While completely knocked out, her dog pulls the sled to a log cabin where Ty is recovering from a helicopter crash. Ty brings Holly in from the cold and lays next to her all night trying to warm her up. The next morning she wakes up in a strange bed with a strange man beside her. At first she's scared out of her mind, but then when Ty tells her who he is, and him being so gorgeous, she thanks him for saving her. There's a little flirting which leads to some making out with Holly's legs wrapped around Ty. Then they have hot sex. They can't get enough of each other. In fact, they both have feelings of.....wait for it...love. Love! You gotta be shittin' me. They didn't even make it to lunch. Trust me when I say I wanted to take a hammer to my Kindle.

I'd like to know what magic medicine Ty used on Holly as she seems to have recovered from being trampled by a moose. I would've thought a few broken ribs at the least which would've left her quite sore, unable to move around much without being in pain. But kudos to her for wrapping her legs around Ty, and taking the pounding he gives her. Yes, sarcasm. Shit, when my lower back aches from severe cramps I get, all I want to do is lay down alone for hours.

Oh did I forget to mention that Holly was married to man who physically abused her for years? Able to escape and divorce her dick of a husband, she makes a new life for herself in Alaska. As it hasn't been that long since she left him, has panic attacks, and suffers from PTSD, I find it hard to believe she's able to not only flirt so openly with a man she just met, but turn into a sex kitten once she and Ty get naked in bed.

Seriously people, I cannot be alone in this. Not only is this so bloody unrealistic, it's asinine! Argh!!!! I feel like screaming my head off it's that fucking stupid!

This was a quick read with lots going on in a short time. Ty Whitehorse is a Seal whose team has been sent to Alaska after partying too hard with the CO's daughter. While flying a mission in a blizzard, his helicopter is shot down. Holly Colton escaped her abusive husband and moved to Alaska where she is trying to start a dog sled business. On a training run she and her dogs have a run-in with a moose and she and one of her dogs are badly injured. Fighting for survival, both Ty and Holly end up at a vacant hunting cabin. Holly suffers from panic attacks and PTSD and can't stand to have anyone touch her, but somehow Ty is different. They both feel something - so we've got some insta-love going on here. But I did like both characters and there was lots of excitement trying to evade the bad guys after Ty. I'm rating this book 3.5 stars and will probably go back and read other books in the series.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Ty Whitehorse is a Seal on a recon mission in Alaska when he is shot down. As a snowstorm hits, he's able to find a hunter's cabin to hide out in. Holly Colton is a domestic abuse survivor hiding out in Alaska. While out with her sled dogs, she and her dogs get attacked by a moose. Barely conscious, she sets her one dog to get her back towards town as the snowstorm hits. When Ty finds a dog coming to the cabin carrying a sled, he quickly gets an unconscious Holly and her hurt dog into the cabin and does what he can to heal them. When Holly regains consciousness, she finds the first man she's been able to be around since before her abusive husband. It's doesn't hurt that her protective dogs trust him too.

I found Holly's character to be very strong and written very well as a domestic abuse survivor. Ty's easygoing personality and healing qualities make her feel safe and secure for the first time in a long time. The author throwing in the animal trust instinct helped a lot in making this a more believable possibility. The only complaint I would have is if this were a longer stor

Welcome To Sunny Alaska

As usual, lovely read and I want more! Our hero this episode is Ty, and he is shot down while on a scouting mission. Here we have a survival story with colder than cold weather and snow busting it's way ever where. I almost had the shivers while reading in several places! A delightful read...

Third time’s the charm. Kimberley Troutte penned a decent story that the majority of reviewers, including myself, liked this time. Praise be! As with the other books in the series, each book focuses on one of the members of the EXtreme Team. This story revolves around Ty Whitehorse, the U.S Navy SEAL helicopter pilot of Apache ancestry. Searching the Alaskan wilds for their nemesis Milton Crow, Ty is shot down by an RPG and finds a hunter’s cabin to hold up in. A sled dog, carrying another injured dog in the sled and the injured and unconscious female musher Holly Colton, also find the cabin. From that point on, the interaction and budding romance between Holly and Ty is a heart-warming tale. Ty is an honorable and caring man but the temptation that assails him while treating Holly is a poignant piece of writing. His internal struggle and self-inspection is an authentic and understandable response. I empathized with the man. What would another, or any man have done in that situation? Holly had issues of her own, which are laid bare and discussed between them. The entire encounter was an emotional and growing experience for both of them. The fact that Ty would have to leave to contact his Team was another turning point for Holly. The epilogue was a little underwhelming but I was okay with it. I enjoyed the story very much and would recommend this one.

Ty finally finds love! We’ve met Ty in earlier books in the series...he’s the helicopter pilot on the Extreme SEAL team. Now Ty and a rookie are investigating the Alaska wilds for some suspicious radio activity when the helicopter is shot down. Can Ty survive with the aid of wannabe Musher and her sled dogs...one of whom has been injured by a rampaging moose? Good story with a cool HEA.

I wanted to see if Ty Whitecloud’s story was any better than the first book in this series. How nice to find it was a good story with a great hero and heroine. Ms. Troutte wrote at least one very good story.

High adrenaline!

Kimberley Troutte is one of my favorite authors because her books are high adrenaline action adventures that I can't get enough of. I'm addicted to her high intensity heroes and the brave women who love them enough to fight right along with them. Ty Whitehorse is a seasoned SEAL caught up in a horrendous situation when he finds a woman freezing to death outside his temporary shelter during a blizzard. I don't want to include spoilers, so let me say, he and Holly are a couple I hope to read more about in future books by this exciting author of romantic suspense.
