The night it appeared, the sky didn’t burn—it sang.A pulse of light swept across the earth, marking four strangers with powers they can’t explain. Yanny sees fragments of the future and understands technology as if it breathes. Noah can vanish without a trace. Jayla moves with lightning speed. Alex fights with the strength of a hundred men. They were never meant to meet, yet fate keeps pulling them together. And above them, unseen but ever watchful, the Celestial Guardians guard their steps—bound by duty to protect the Chosen, though even they don’t know who chose them… or why. All the Guardians know is this: The four hold the key to humanity’s greatest cure—or its silent extinction. As governments scramble to control them and darker forces rise from the shadows, the Chosen must uncover the truth behind their powers before the light that marked them becomes the fire that ends them all.
From the very first chapter, Echoes of the Sky completely pulled me in. I found myself eager to pick up my Kindle every chance I got. The story is rough, action-packed, and fast-paced, yet still manages to feel atmospheric and almost whimsical at times.
The plot is creative and layered — it even made me reflect on how some of its themes connect to our current health system, which I really appreciated. I especially loved the celestial elements woven throughout; they gave the story a unique and captivating edge.
Overall, this was an engaging and imaginative read that kept me turning pages from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what Q.L. Hart writes next!
(Thank you to the author for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.)
Wow just wow!!!! 4 people total strangers chosen/made to work together to help mankind. Can they combine their powers for good or split when it gets too tough. Who really is in charge. I personally love this author's style of writing and hopefully see more from these characters.
This book bursts onto the scene with a powerful pulse of light that binds the fate of four disparate strangers. There's Yanny (blessed with future sight), Noah (invisibility), Jayla (super-speed), and Alex (super-strength)—each granted a power they can't yet comprehend. Despite their wildly different lives, the forces of fate relentlessly pull the "Chosen" together, their every move watched over by the ethereal Celestial Guardians. The narrative wastes no time, immediately plunging readers into an adrenaline-fueled journey as these four struggle to navigate a world that's become suddenly hostile. The author's writing is a major highlight: it's both elegant and visceral, masterfully crafting a high-stakes adventure that keeps you utterly hooked from the very first page. This compelling style makes their necessary alliance and the perilous path they must tread intensely engaging. The stakes are nothing less than absolute: the Chosen hold the ultimate key—one that could unlock humanity's greatest cure, or trigger its silent extinction. Their survival depends on uncovering the truth behind their mysterious marking before the very light that granted them power becomes the fire that burns everything down. Highly recommended for fans of fast-paced, character-driven superhero adventures!
From the very first page, this book had a completely different energy than I expected — in the best way. The writing is vivid and almost poetic, and it creates this cinematic feeling where every scene plays out like a movie in your mind. I found myself sinking into the atmosphere instantly.
What really stood out to me was how the story follows four strangers whose lives are suddenly and mysteriously changed. The book does such a great job exploring how fate pulls people together, even when they have no idea why. There’s a steady sense of intrigue that never lets up — you’re always aware that something bigger is happening behind the scenes, but you don’t fully understand what it is yet. That kept me turning pages.
The themes of connection, destiny, and unseen forces guiding us were so beautifully done. It made the story feel both grounded and otherworldly at the same time. And the pacing? Fast enough to keep me hooked, but still giving space for the world and emotions to breathe.
Overall, this was an imaginative, atmospheric, and engaging read that kept me coming back to my Kindle every chance I got. I loved the tone, the mystery, and the unique way the author brings everything together. I’m genuinely excited to see what Q.L. Hart writes next.
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this arc.
Within the first couple of pages, I was completely sucked into this story. The author wastes no time pulling you into the mystery surrounding four main characters—Jayla, Noah, Yanny, and Alex—who vanish for seven days with no memory of where they went or what happened. When they return, they discover they’ve each gained unique abilities: Jayla with incredible speed, Alex with super strength, Yanny with a near-magical understanding of technology, and Noah with the power of invisibility.
As they struggle to understand who gave them these powers and why, they begin receiving mysterious invitations that draw them together. Soon, patterns start to emerge—signs that cancer is spreading at a man-made rate. Determined to uncover the truth, they dig deeper, only to find unsettling answers that raise even more questions about power, control, and human interference.
The story hooked me right from the start, though I did feel it slowed a bit in the middle as the author built the foundation for what’s to come. Still, the payoff was worth it—the pace picks back up, and the ending left me eager to see where the next book will take these characters. A solid start to what promises to be an intriguing and thought-provoking series.
I was given an eARC thanks to the author, and I’m leaving this review completely voluntarily.
Echoes of the Sky is a fast-paced, gripping story that follows four individuals who suddenly develop extraordinary abilities: Yanny, who can see the future and instantly understands technology; Noah, who can turn invisible; Janya, whose speed defies physics; and Alex, who discovers superhuman strength. From the very first page, Hart pulls you in and refuses to let go.
The author does a fantastic job weaving these four perspectives together, creating a narrative that is not only thrilling but deeply human. Echoes of the Sky isn’t just a sci-fi adventure—it's a thoughtful reflection on what it means to wake up changed in a world that refuses to acknowledge or understand that change. Hart blends speculative science, raw emotion, and subtle mythic undertones in a way that feels both fresh and timeless.
By the final pages, the “echoes” of each character’s awakening linger long after the story ends—leaving you with the sense that evolution isn't about gaining power, but about empathy, connection, and the courage to choose your own path.
Upon starting the first few chapters, I already realized how different this book was going to be. The writing style is almost poetic, respectful? The storyline makes clear why the author chose to write in this way. Every sentence read was written in such a way, I could really see it in my mind like a movie, should this be turned in to a movie where the special effects would really bring this book to life, it would be epic!
4 Chosen ones destined to either save the world or find themselves in the ruines of a celestial war battled since before time. I was super invested when it touched the subject of frequencies, something that has made steadfast progress in the real world.
The only part that felt a little anticlimactic was the battle with subject 9, it was too short for me hehe. Would have loved to see it more elaborately. But that is a personal view.
This book is for those who love to read something different and keep an open mind to a different writing style, a storyline involving celestial beings and everything that goes with that topic. I really loved this book! Sending into the universe to turn this into a movie!! 5/5⭐️
Echoes of the Sky was such an unexpected win for me. It’s not a book I would’ve naturally grabbed off the shelf, but once I started, I was hooked. The story blends sci-fi, mystery, and character-driven tension in a way that feels fresh and genuinely exciting.
The four Chosen—Yanny, Noah, Jayla, and Alex—each bring something unique to the table, and I loved how their powers actually mattered to the plot instead of being just cool extras. Their paths crossing felt organic, and watching them slowly piece together their purpose kept me glued to the pages. The Celestial Guardians added another layer of intrigue, and I kept wanting to know more about who (or what) was really pulling the strings.
The pacing is sharp, the stakes feel real, and the world-building pulls you in without overwhelming you. There were a few moments I wanted a little more emotional depth, but overall, this was an exciting, immersive read that surprised me in the best way.
4 stars... gripping, imaginative, and way better than I expected. I’m so glad I picked this one up.
Echoes of the Sky by QL Hart hooked me right away. The opening is fast-paced, and I was immediately curious about what was going to happen next. The author does a great job pulling the reader in quickly, and that was one of the aspects I genuinely enjoyed.
Unfortunately, the rest of the book didn’t come together for me. The narrative often felt choppy, with abrupt transitions that made the plot hard to follow. Some elements of the story became really repetitive, which slowed the momentum and made certain scenes feel drawn out despite the quick pacing.
The science fiction aspects weren’t for me, and at times they added more confusion than intrigue. Between the uneven structure, the hard-to-follow shifts, and the repetitive moments, I struggled to stay fully engaged.
There’s definitely potential in the atmosphere and concept, and readers who enjoy unconventional, rapid-fire sci-fi might get more out of it. But overall, it wasn’t the right fit for me.
Echoes of the Sky completely surprised me — in the best way. From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the mystery and tension of four strangers waking up after vanishing for seven days, with the world (and sky) subtly… wrong. Q.L. Hart builds suspense so well that I kept needing to read “just one more chapter.”
The mix of science fiction, mystery, and emotion makes it feel cinematic — like watching a mind-bending movie but with all the inner depth that only a book can give. I loved how each character had their own fears and secrets, and how the story balanced action with emotion. It’s intense, thought-provoking, and surprisingly heartfelt.
If you enjoy stories like Dark Matter or The 5th Wave, this one’s for you — eerie, fast-paced, and full of twists that stay with you long after the last page. I can’t wait to see where the next book in the trilogy goes!
When I was given the opportunity to read this book. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. But I am so glad that I did read it! I love how the author made 4 completely different strangers connect to one whole story. I love also how the strangers had different abilities, like Yanny has future sight, Noah has invisibility, Jayla has super-speed, and then Alex has super-strength. The story unveils how they are able to comprehend and use their abilities for the greater good. From the beginning, the story started off action-packed, and fast-paced, and kept me turning pages after pages. Although, it also felt almost whimsical at times which I believe that was the author’s target.
Overall, it was a really good book! If you enjoyed books like, Vicious by V.E. Schwab and Renegades by Marissa Meyer, you’ll definitely like this read!
The story wastes no time pulling you in. Felt like being dropped into a story that's running at full speed. The concept hooked me right away: four strangers changed by a mysterious light, each with a different perspective to what's happening. It captured the feelings of confusion, vulnerability and fear while still showing each character's strength. There were a few parts where I would've liked to slow down and really feel the weight of what they were experiencing and some repetitive phrasing, but it didn't take me out of the story overall.
Quick, imaginative, immersive read. Curious to see how the world expands and what direction these characters take next!
Echoes of the Sky is more than a sci-fi thriller; it’s a meditation on what it means to wake up changed in a world that refuses to see you. Hart masterfully combines speculative science, human emotion, and mythic undertones to create a story that feels both contemporary and timeless.
By the final pages, the “echoes” of each character’s awakening resonate far beyond their individual stories—suggesting that humanity’s next evolution won’t be about power, but about empathy, connection, and the courage to rewrite fate.
Very fun and fast paced read. The beginning is a little confusing because a lot of information and context is introduced but the more you keep reading the more everything comes together. It keeps you on your toes because for most of the book you never know who you can trust. The ending sets up the theme for the next book and leaves you intrigued to continue. Overall a great read and I highly recommend
It opens up just booming with excitement. This catches your interest right away with these four strangers with special powers with very precise goals from the guardians. The world itself gets a bit lost in comparison to the building of the relationship with the gods/guardians and the main characters and the mission itself. The pacing stays pretty even though and it is pretty easy to just keep reading without putting it down.
this book had me hooked from the first chapter. A different take on divine intervention, when 4 strangers come together with "powers" to help find and stop the corruption of cancer treatment and profit. To find out that something older and ethereal is to blame. The ending make you hope that there is a second book to this.
A thrilling and compelling read mixing dystopian, sci-fi & fantasy. The characters are relatable and likeable each with their own unique abilities. I was hooked from start to finish. I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to read this as an arc. I can’t wait to read more from this writer
I loved this book. It was written so well. I loved the science in this. It was almost like Marvel character type of science stuff where people have powers but they don’t know why. Great characters that make you want to know what will happen next.
