I enjoyed this take on Snow White. It was very easy to read and entertaining. The way the book ended made it seem like it might become a series? If so I see it being a popular one with the younger generation.
I was provided with a free copy of this book so I could give an honest review.
Delightful read. I enjoyed this spin on Snow White. I admittedly found the last 3 pages a little cheesy. I get the intentions and how it fits with the character, but it just seems a little overkill on the moral side.
My daughter is now reading it based off my recommendations of it was a spin of Snow White, it had romance but G-rated, and it had adventure. If a 13-yr old decides to read it for those reasons, so should you.
I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
This retelling of Snow White is a fresh take on the story that will keep your attention until the last page. In this version, Vidella Altaire must defeat the evil spirit of her mad mother. The incredible detail painted a vivid picture in my head. The adventure kept me turning the pages long into the night.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves Snow White.
I was very interested in the retelling of snow white, and how the author would handle aspects of the original. It took me about an hour to read, but kept my attention the entire, short time. It did have some problems, such as spelling mistakes and some strange sentences (VERY minimal and easy things to sort out). I think the biggest issue I had was that it wasn't long enough to be a novel but not short enough to be comparable to a fairy tale. The weird in-between nature bothered me slightly, and left the characters in a sort of limbo where they weren't entirely developed but not completely cookie-cutter characters. Like I said, I was entertained the hour it took to read it, but I feel that I was more interested in how it compared to the original as well as stereotypical ideas/stories of snow white.
