Once upon a time, in India, there was an old man who was famous for his calmness. No one could disturb the tranquility of his soul, not even those who deliberately provoked him with harsh words. Therefore, almost everyone in the village was very curious about him.
One day, some young men in the village decided to provoke the old man. They hired the village's most mischievous boy and showed him what to do. They promised to pay him 500 rupees(*) if he could make the old man lose control of himself.
(*) Currency of India. (1 rupee is equivalent to 0.02 USD). 500 rupees can be exchanged for 10 USD.
The young men knew that the old man had a habit of bathing in the river every morning. So they secretly followed him and hid in the bushes on the river bank. When the old man finished bathing and got to the shore, the boy ran up and slapped him in the face. The old man just smiled and went back to the river to continue bathing. When he got to the shore a second time, the boy ran up and slapped him again. This time, the old man just smiled and went back to the river to bathe.
