It's Valentine's Day in GOTHAM, but not everyone is celebrating. VICTOR FRIES (aka MR. FREEZE) has never gotten over the death of his wife, Nora, and he's not about to let anyone enjoy this painful holiday. Only BATMAN can stop the cold-hearted criminal before VICTOR refrigerates the city!
Before Disney had all the Frozen puns - Batman had Mr Freeze one of the more dopey villains in the bat-world with frequent frozen puns and titles. If you expected anything other that a simple tale of good geezers vs bad geezers then you will walk away with a sad expression.
This is a bigger chapter book. It was interesting to read to my teen age special needs son. It's written well where it's not boring or overly descriptive with things, or repetitive things over and over again. The story flowed very nice and when you finished a chapter you couldn't wait to start a new one and it started off right where the last one finished making reading the entire book very nice. There are also illustrations on about every other page making it nice for a listener to be able to pay attention better. Very nicely done.
Mr Freeze wants to take revenge upon Gotham City since he no longer has the love of his life, he wanted no one else to be happy for Valentines Day either! But as usual Batman with all his inventions come and save the day!
Young Batman fans may enjoy this title that follows the masked man as he tangles with Mr. Freeze. The villain is determined that no one else should be able to enjoy being in love since he lost his love years ago. He puts together a plot to freeze the city and several couples at the Diamond Exchange's special Valentine's Day celebration. Things move pretty quickly in this graphic novel, and Batman stays true to character. I like my villains with a little more depth, though, and readers don't learn a lot about Mr. Freeze here.
When my two yearson came into the comic book store loving on all the Batman stuff, an employee suggested this. Much beyond his level, but an enjoyable book, nonetheless.
