Until death do us part.

When my father sells my sister to a cruel Mafia king, I know I need to escape before it’s my turn.

I’ll need money, so I do the only thing I’ve ever been good counting cards.

From the start, though, I make a huge mistake.
The Las Vegas casino I choose to steal from?
It belongs to my sister’s fiancé.

I’m hauled into his office, shoved into a chair by his goons as he stands above me, his stare cold enough to freeze my soul.

He’s a man who is above the law, he can do anything he wants.

But he does the worst thing of all…he makes me wait. Imagine. Stew.
He’ll decide how he wants to punish me after the wedding.

I barely pull myself together for the ceremony.
I just have to stand by my sister’s side.

Except, my sister is nowhere to be found.
Instead, a white dress hangs on the back of the rectory door.
Turns out, there’s been a change of plans.

He’s decided on my punishment after all.

And now…

I’m the bride.

Could have done without the constant reminders of his past experiences and her lack there of. There was an opportunity for a really good and long grovel but it was sort of breezed over and just ended with a HFN (Yr later). He really hurt her and it was so easy to feel for her. I feel like the author could have done a lot with it.

I will say though I loved the neurodivergent FMC rep. She’s a V but it makes sense bc she is locked in a prison her whole life. I could tell she was on the spectrum before it was even told to us. Her character was written very well and you couldn’t help but love her. This could have easily been a 5 star without his constant past reminders and with a really good grovel. I was pretty invested and just wanted more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review — King of Corruption by Tammy Andresen

Thank you to Tammy Andresen for the opportunity to read an ARC of King of Corruption, book four in the Kings of Las Vegas series.

This installment delivers exactly what I’ve come to expect from Tammy Andresen’s mafia world: sharp writing, high tension, and emotionally charged relationships all packed into a fast-paced, tightly written story that never drags.

Ryker Smith has always felt like the outsider among the Kings of Las Vegas. Though wealthy and included, he and his brother Killian know they aren’t blood and Ryker’s hunger to prove himself and step out of his brothers’ shadows drives many of his choices. When a deal is struck with Dimitri Ivanov to protect his sisters from their brutal father, Ryker agrees to an arranged marriage meant to keep one of them safe. But when Sasha—fearless, guarded, and desperate for freedom crosses Ryker’s path at his casino, everything changes.

Sasha is a standout heroine. Treated as a bargaining chip for most of her life, her distrust is completely justified, and her strength builds organically throughout the story. I loved watching her come into her own, especially as Ryker gives her space, protection, and eventually respect. Ryker himself is morally gray, calculating, and driven by secret motives, but his unexpectedly tender side with Sasha adds real depth to his character. Their chemistry is intense, layered with suspicion, attraction, and emotional tension that keeps the pages turning.

The mafia dynamics feel realistic and dark, highlighting the dangers women face in this world and making Sasha’s need for autonomy especially compelling. The suspense is constant, with twists that keep both the Smiths and Ivanovs on edge, and I appreciated how seamlessly this book ties into the larger series.

That said, the ending felt a bit abrupt and slightly open-ended. While I understand it’s meant to lead into the next book, it didn’t fully deliver the standalone sense of closure I was hoping for.

Overall, King of Corruption is a gripping, emotional, and addictive mafia romance that proves a powerful story doesn’t need hundreds of pages to work. Tammy Andresen’s writing is tight, engaging, and always worth picking up. Highly recommended for fans of dark mafia romance just be sure to check trigger warnings before diving in.

The fourth book in the Kings of Las Vegas series is an engrossing entry following Ryker Smith, a non-blood family member seeking to prove himself. To protect Dimitri Ivanov's sisters from their brutal father, Ryker initially agrees to an arranged marriage with Dimitri's sister, Katrina. However, after Sasha Ivanov attempts a fearless escape and ends up at Ryker’s casino, he changes the terms to marry her instead—a revelation Sasha only discovers upon arriving at the church. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another page turner

What a great story which fits perfectly into kings of Las Vegas universe! I feel mesmerized by this book - it’s was written so well and captivated my attention from the first pages. I loved to see Ryker getting his heart stolen, just like I felt so happy seeing Sasha in the right place with her perfect fiancé. Author did awesome job with this book - amazing romance without unnecessary drama. A must read for me.

King of Corruption: Dark, Mafia, Steamy Romance
(Kings of Las Vegas Book 4)

Ryker Smith has never really felt like his family worries about him. He knows the family secret, he knows his brother Killian and he aren’t truly Smith’s. Sure he is included but he feels he is on the outside…when in truth he wants to be on the inside…he deserves it.

In book 3, we met Dimitri Ivanov, he was trying to break away from his father and trying to get his sisters Katarina and Sasha out of his father’s hands. With the help of the Smith brothers and the Kincaid family Katarina and Sasha are now in Vegas. These ladies having been held by their father for years aren’t sure they are any safer with Dimitri. Understandable…because they just found out to keep them safe, one of them is going to marry Ryker Smith, yes for protection but there is more to the agreement.

These two sisters are not close by any means, it is going to come to who is left the day of the wedding. Sasha tried once to get away, while Katrina bided time!
Unfortunately, when Sasha tried her escape, she ended up at Ryker Smith’s Casino and in Ryker’s hands. Not good news for Sasha, Ryker on the other hand wanted the agreement changed…..Sasha however, only found out about the change at the Church.

A woman who has no trust has an option but will she make the first year of her marriage. Ryker is plans but he has promised her that he will give her time and protect her.

Will he and the Smith family really protect her? When he gives her as much space as he can, is he fooling her? The words he uses when they are alone, are they made up? And what happened to Katarina?

Suspense and tension and a surprise that no one had ever even thought of, keeps both the Smith/Kincaid/Ivanov group on their toes! I read this book in one sitting it was full of action and emotions. A five star read from me!

Tammy Andresen delivers another irresistible installment in the "Lord of Las Vegas" series, masterfully weaving together the intricate ties between three Mafia families. In this captivating story, we meet Ryker Smith, a member of the powerful Smith family who has always felt like an outsider striving to prove his worth. Determined to carve his own path, Ryker strikes a deal with Dimitri to marry his sister, Katarina—but fate has other plans.

Enter Sasha, Dimitri’s other sister, who is desperate to escape the life her family has mapped out for her. Fearing she’ll be used as a pawn in a marriage arrangement, Sasha boldly heads to a casino to count cards, hoping to win enough money to secure her freedom. However, she chooses the wrong casino—one controlled by Ryker Smith, who now holds her future in his hands.

From the moment Ryker meets Sasha, he’s captivated, determined to make her his bride. What follows is a thrilling tale of underhanded deals and unexpected twists, as a bride switch sets tensions soaring. The passion and chemistry between Ryker and Sasha are undeniable, burning through the pages with intensity.

As Ryker’s secret dealings come to light, he risks losing everything—his family, his wife, and even his life. This electrifying Mafia series offers heart-pounding action, intense romance, and jaw-dropping betrayals, pulling readers into a dark underworld where nothing is as it seems and survival comes at a steep price.

"Lord of Las Vegas" is truly an edge-of-your-seat read, blending steamy romance with riveting action. The epilogue left me eager for more, and I can’t wait to dive into Katarina’s story. If you’re looking for a gripping tale filled with passion, danger, and unexpected twists, this series is a must-read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This series blends three mafia families together, the Kincaid’s from America, the Smiths from Great Britain, and the Ivanovs from Russian with marriages and business dealings all centered around the Las Vegas casinos. In this book a reluctant bride, Katarina Ivanov, being forced to marry into a rival family makes a deal with her would-be groom, Ryker Smith, that has her sister, Sasha Ivanov, saying “I do” instead with a threat of blackmail hanging over the new bride’s head. Now Ryker may think he’s got what he wants but instead he may just have what he needs and it may be the hardest deal he’s ever made. All this while a hitman is trying to take them all out and the men are scrambling to keep their women safe. A marvelous blend of emotional trauma, dysfunctional family dynamics, loving, caring relationship with moments of hot, steamy chemistry, danger, intrigue, and bonding amongst families who aren’t sure they can trust each other completely but are there for each other if called. An interesting criminal caught-deal made scene, a first time taking scene done right, several protective, alpha scenes and one horrific self-hurting scene that ends with a broken, remorseful man, one damaged, love-seeking woman surrounded by supporting family members standing firm. This book is powerfully moving for anyone who is aching to be loved or finds themselves always on the outside looking in. I received an Advance Review Copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is Ryker Smith’s story, one of the 5 brothers that make up the Kings of Las Vegas. He and his brother Killian are actually step-brothers to the original 3 King brothers. While his step-brothers are good to him and have made him a wealthy man, he’s always felt overlooked. In a deal his brothers have made with Dimitri Ivanov, Ryker has agreed to marry his sister Katarina. A move Dimitri is making to protect her from their father. However, when he catches Dimitri’s younger sister, Sasha, counting cards and basically stealing from his casino, Ryker immediately devises a plan to marry Sasha and gain control of the assets (that she knows nothing about) and make his own mark on Vegas while giving Sasha the one thing she truly wants. But somewhere down the line, things don’t go exactly as he planned. In fact both Ryker and Sasha’s world is about to be turned upside down and not all of it in a good way.

This is an exciting mafia read and an excellent addition to the series. This reader highly recommends all the Kings of Las Vegas as well as the first series Lords of Las Vegas. While they don’t have to be read in order, I suggest doing so for a much better reading experience, as the characters and storylines from both series do overlap.

2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars

Sasha and Ryker

A little disappointed in Ryker’s story. He’s Killian’s brother and half brother to all the Smiths. He wants to make his own way, come out from the shadow of his Smith bros and manipulating marriage to Sasha is his way of getting what he wants. Ryker has a strong and very dark personality. He hides his ambition from his brothers. I thought he’d end up with someone equally ambitious.

The only time Sasha showed any strength is when she went to his casino to read cards so she can make money to escape. The rest of the book, Sasha is very fragile and delicate and requires a great deal of care. She’s incredibly insecure and trusts no one. To her, everyone has an agenda and it will usually hurt her. She never shows much more strength or growth through the rest of the book.

This is a short one so it feels rushed. Ryker develops feelings pretty quickly and spends most of his time getting Sasha to trust him and making sure she’s safe while still hiding his agenda from his brothers. The resolution to that was also rushed and not explained well. So disappointing. But there’s no real 3rd act breakup so that’s good.

Didn’t know so much could happen all in 5 days…

Ryker- I wasn’t expecting Ryker to be such an ass. I thought he’d be soft and caring like Tristan or Dimitri. I enjoyed his change of heart and realization of his true feelings towards Sasha. Although I feel like Killian should have kicked his ass.

Sasha - She showed weakness, not an ounce of strength in that girl. My goodness, I even found her a bit childish. Her desperation for a drop of love was sad. Wished Ryker showed more love and compassion toward her.

Killian - well hot dam. Our crazy psychopath has grown so much since his book (1). It’s hard to believe he’s become this protective man towards the girls. The way he spoke to Sasha, at eye level 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Chloe did an amazing job at softening him up and I am so glad to continue to read about his character development throughout the series.

The ending pissed me off!!!! I need to know what happens in between. How Ryker won Sasha? How he made up for his stupidity? Sasha’s character development? Did she grow strength? Did she accept her truth? Did Dimitri understand his father’s cruelty toward his sisters? Like miss Tammy wtf

Ouuu I was waiting for this book and it did not disappoint I absolutely loved this book and it had me on the edge of my seat with everything going on. Tammy has done so good with this series cause every book just keep getting better and better

The chemistry with these is just amazing and the way he showed her that she can be loved. Sasha and Ryker just go so amazingly together and their love so deep. I couldn’t get enough I read this book in one sitting

Sasha is just amazing and I love her, she has been through so much my heart broke for her. I loved watching her come into her own person and be so happy and independent and Ryker just made her feel so special and safe

I love me a good mafia romance and this was no different. Even though I wanted more towards the end, but definitely feel like it will be answered in the next book and I can’t wait

Ryker my mannnn, I love him he’s just chef kiss, morally grey, and rich ofc. I love him and he’s family dynamic it’s everything although him and Killian don’t have the same father as the rest and paid for it by their “father”. And he just want to proves himself

I can’t wait to the next book I just know it’s going to be amazing

King of Corruption proves that a powerful, addictive story does not need 500 or 600 pages to work. Tammy Andresen’s writing is sharp, direct, and free of filler, and honestly, not reading her books feels like missing out. The mafia dynamics are clear and realistic, with women treated as bargaining chips and pawns in a male dominated world, making Sasha’s need for freedom especially compelling. Ryker is driven by secret motives and a desire to step out of his brothers’ shadows, yet he makes the dangerous choice to marry Sasha not her sister, risking everything he has built. The tension and chemistry between them are constant, intense, and beautifully built, heightened by how unexpectedly caring he is toward her. This story is gripping, well paced, and surprisingly heartfelt, proving once again that Tammy Andresen knows exactly how to tell a complete and addictive story in fewer pages. Highly recommended!!!
Trigger warning: this book contains sensitive and potentially triggering content.

I’m rating this 3.5⭐️. Because it read like a smooth liquor sliding into my mind and filling it with the next installment in this series.

Next in the series is Ryker and Sasha. See Ryker was contracted to marry Katarina. But through some double dealing, he ended up marrying Sasha. Both are Dimitri’s sisters and he’s marrying them off to protect them from his father.

Sasha is interesting because she’s considered fragile but is a math genius. She’s the youngest daughter, the one that’s ignored and beaten by her father for being different.

Ryker feels like he’s an outsider in his family because while they share the same mother, he and his older brothers has different fathers. This causes him to make a series of bad decisions.

Sasha & Ryker marry and spend the week learning to love each other. Then several incidents happen that test their relationship. It leads to the ending which spins us into Book 5 of the series.

Borrowed this from Kindle Unlimited. And yes, I will read book 5 when it drops.

Ryker has always felt he didn’t fit in & wants to prove he’s as good as his brothers. So he devices a plan. Sasha needs money to escape, so she sneaks out to a casino to raise the cash by counting cards. She doesn’t realise that the casino belongs to her sister’s fiancé. She’s hauled into his office, shoved into a chair by his goons & told he’ll decide how he wants to punish me after the wedding.
Then Katarina disappears.
Another engrossing book, I loved both Ryker & Sasha who start married life not knowing each other but he promises that after a year she can walk. Their chemistry sizzled but they also got to know each other & bring out each other’s strengths. They also allow themselves to feel but of course secrets are bound to emerge just when there’s a threat to them. Then a surprise throws everyone. I loved their journey to a HEA

An intense and fiery attraction develops between Sasha and Ryker when it is discovered that she is fleecing him at the tables in his casino. Desperate to make her escape, Sasha is well aware that she can do nothing without money, and living as she is, she has no access to funds unless she devises a way out of the secure apartment where she is temporarily housed. Dragged before her sister's fiancé, Sasha dreads finding out what her punishment will be, but does not expect to end up in a too-large wedding dress before a priest while her sister makes her escape! Ryker thinks he has made the perfect coup when he marries Sasha, but the wheels soon start to come off, especially when their enemies put in an appearance. Fortunately, Ryker comes to recognize how wrong he has been, bringing the novel to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I want to start this review by telling you the truth, I did not want to read this book right away, because I knew once I read it, I would want the next book published immediately. But I could not put it off, and when I started it, I did not stop. Like all the other books in this series I Loved it. It is another amazing addition to the series. Ryker is one of the Smith brothers who decides he is going to marry their enemy/business partner to form an alliance. He is going to marry the older sister of Dimitri, but circumstances and his choice he marries Sasha. I think they are perfect for each other. I don’t know what else to say, except I have loved every book in this series and the series leading up to this one. I cannot wait for the next book, which I knew I would be very impatient waiting for.
I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest opinion.

Tammy Andresen has managed to hit another one out of the ballpark with King of Corruption, her latest entry into the Kings of Las Vegas series.

So far, we had not seen much of Ryker Smith in his brothers’ stories, but it’s his turn at center now. In a move to solidify their business connections, Ryker is set to marry Katarina, a sister of Russian business rival Dimitri. In a series of twists and turns, Dimitri’s other sister, Sasha, becomes the lucky bride.

What begins as even less than a marriage of convenience becomes so much more. Sasha and Ryker are explosive when their walls start to break down. There is so much packed into this book: heat and steaminess, love, deceit, and of course, heartbreak. Do not miss this one. I read this book as an advanced reader copy.

Power, Passion, and Chaos

Dark. Addictive. Completely unhinged in the best way.
King of Corruption delivers a ruthless, power-driven romance where control is currency and trust is earned the hard way. Ryker is every bit the morally grey king—cold, calculating, and terrifyingly magnetic. Sasha is strong, sharp, and refuses to be broken, even when the world around her is steeped in corruption.
Their relationship is built on tension, manipulation, and obsession. It’s enemies to lovers with claws—every interaction crackles with intensity, every moment feels like a test of dominance and devotion. There’s no easy love here, only choices made in darkness and loyalty forged in chaos.
🔥 High stakes
🔥 Explosive chemistry
🔥 Powerful FMC
🔥 A hero who never pretends to be good

I love the mafia world Tammy has created. I truly enjoyed this book and how it fit in seamlessly with the others. Sasha is so much stronger than everyone gave her credit for and I loved that Ryker helped to bring out her feisty side. He had some groveling to do but he loves her fiercely.

I will say I felt like the ending was a bit abrupt and a little open ended. I know it’s supposed to lead into the next book but if these are technically stand a lones, this ones ending didn’t quite feel that way.

I am looking forward to the next one. I think Katarina is going to be a firecracker for sure.

This book is so good! I love Ryker & Sasha together.

Ryker agrees to an arranged marriage with the eldest sister of a Bratva mobster to help his family. Or so they think. He really want to help himself gain freedom from his family and he wants the younger sister instead.

What follow is a steamy adventure that keeps you invested until the end. I couldn't put the book down. While this is book #4 of the Kings of Las Vegas, it can be read on it's own. If you haven't read the other 3 books of this series or the Lords of Las Vegas (which has connected characters), I highly recommend you do.

I can't wait for book #5 of this series!!

I absolutely love neurodiverse leading lady representation. It also has ptsd representation without actually naming her mental health dx but it does briefly mention therapy for self care. trigger warning for self injury and unhealthy coping strategies.
She's never been loved or cared for. She's a survivor who loves deeply. He's trying to make something of himself no matter what. He doesn't need romance. He's a man of opportunity. He thinks it's the perfect plan but she's something special. Will love conquer all? Will they meet danger? Can they have their HEA? Can't wait to read the next in the series.

I don’t know how to rate this. 2.5? The story ended half way through.

Live together 1 week and no stories of how the love grew…
“I love you!”…
Betrayal…
Epilogue: we are re-marrying and 4 months pregnant. WTF?

Where is the story? How did they fall in love? Ugh.

My usual rating:
1: DNF
2: hated it and should have DNF
3: met the requirements of a book. Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. May read the next in the series.
4: Amazing. I enjoyed it. Want to read more. Met the requirements and expectations of the genre (i.e. a quick cheap read exceeded my expectations for a cheap read).
5: Superb. Exceeded expectations for the genre or an epic story that all should know.

Author does an amazing job of tying these Vegas Mafia families together.
Sasha is the sister of Dimitri with ties to the Bratva.
Dimitri arranges a marriage of his sister Katarina to Ryker Smith.
But Ryker tries to hide his dismay and inadequacy with his Smith family role by switching his bride to Sasha.
Lots of secrets and under the table deals lead to mistrust and danger.
Truly an edge of your seat read with steamy romance intertwined with action.
A little cliffhanger with a fun epilogue.
I received an ARC but the honest opinion is my own.

.5 stars

I'm not going to rant, the .5 rating is enough because there's too much I didn't like and I'm honestly just triggered.

Major things:
This needs editing, and the lack of trigger warnings for the amount of triggers (some pretty big ones at that) was really awful.

So trigger warning: childhood abuse, suicide attempt !!!!!

Not including a trigger warning is really irritating to me and so I won't be reading any further books personally if the author doesn't care about her readers enough to provide a warning for something like that.

Ryker's story. One of the 5 brothers that make up the Kings of Las Vegas. He never feels like he measures up so he goes in search of the perfect wife. Generally, I really liked this story. It had a few triggers that were tough to take but it's a mafia story so it's never going to be sweetness and light. What holds my rating back is the ending left me hanging. That may be great for some readers, so don't let my opinion stops you from reading this book. The author is very talented and creative. Each of these stories are worth reading even if you read them out of order.

Ryker always though, he was less. He wasn´t as polished, as his blue blooded brothers so, he decided to show everyone, he is better. To get his goal, he needed only one thing. The right bride. When opportunity occurs, he uses it and marry Sasha.
Sasha wanted only one thing. Freedom. When she against her will marry Ryker, she thinks, it will be another prison, with cruel guard. But what if it is, what she really, really needed. When paste enemy appears, everyone will be in danger.

Oh Ryker! The “research and development” guy in the family who just wants to be more. And sweet Sasha who is just looking to escape because she can’t see herself being married off. Ryker sees her vulnerability and takes advantage of the opportunity to have her as his bride. She is just so fragile and it was so hard to see. But through his protection, she is able to find strength in herself and he finds purpose. They end up with a beautiful love story!
