Coconut Chronicles: Burglar

Rate this book
In the quaint little beach town named Coconut Grove, all was going so well. Sam McNeil, 30 and perpetually single, finally has a girl friend and a nice relaxing life near the beach. His good neighbor Walter, 50 and widowed, is finally dating again, too. Life doesn't get much better than this.

But suddenly, this quiet little neighborhood is plagued with burglaries and some strange goings-on.

Walter suggests they do a stake out. What?! It's the last thing on Sam's mind, but Walter won't let it go. Hiding in the dark like a couple of rookies, they catch the burglar in action - they've solved the case. But have they? Within minutes, the suspect is dead and Sam and Walter need to figure out what to do next and who or what killed the burglar, without being implicated in the whole mess.

And when the burglaries haven't stopped, Sam and Walter slip into the night and concoct a plan that involves a little breaking and entering themselves, another stake out, and a foot race to justice.

A clean, fun, mystery adventure - an almost tropical mystery.

Just a typical Florida coastal town

Based on my time spent in my parents community in Florida, this almost seems possible. Its builds a story line and relationships in a Florida neighborhood for what becomes investigative journalism of a sort. Good read if you want to escape for a few hours but not think too hard

I enjoyed this little mystery. At first, I couldn't figure out who the burglar was because of everything that was happening. However, I was able to figure it out before Sam & Walter did. I felt bad for Sam, though. Poor guy deserves better than that. This is the perfect little mystery to cozy up with.

Great new series!!

Coconut Chronicles: Burglar was a very fun book that kept me hooked to where I didn't want to stop until the end.
When Sam's neighbors are having their houses broken into and one of them is killed he decides along with friend and neighbor, Walter, to get to the bottom of it and find the burglars themselves. The story has some comedy in places which just adds to the great writing style of the author. As Sam and Walter uncover clue after clue you are compelled to keep reading to see if they can figure out who the burglar is before the police do.
Am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Fun

Fun and a little quirky storyline with equally quirky characters. Two men taking on a serious adventure and seeing it thru to the end. Quaint locale, too. Quick read expect to read next book in series

Not really that good

The lead character is shallow and not very interesting. The story is ok but one-sided it needs to be fleshed out
