**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This can be read as a stand alone book in the series, however be warned, once you pick the book up, you can't put it down again until it's finished.

I thought I loved her previous characters, but Grayson and Reece had me falling in love with them completely and giving me yet another book boyfriend to replace the others.

Reece Hearst is injured after her last bull ride and still hurting twelve years later after the cause that made her leave Lonesome Point behind.

Grayson Parker, her tormentors son, is a man home from war who has now overcome his war demons and see's the pain that Reece is hiding. When he realises exactly how she started off hurt he does everything in his power to help her, being as patient and protective as she will allow him.

When both get a shocking piece of news, it only pushes them closer together as they both deal with their emotions.

Both have a searing attraction to each other from the moment they first meet that only seems to get stronger the longer they are together and with sharing their past their emotional ties to each other only get stronger.

As with the previous books in the series we get a dramatic ending and a HEA that will both leave you with a nail biting experience and a warm happy feeling as things go the way they should.

I really CAN'T wait for the next book to come out.

Each time i think i chose a new book boyfriend, Jessie goes and ruins it by writing a better one. I LOVE Grayson. I love a broody man and i have a picture in my head of big bulky broody man named Grayson. Love Love Love!

Anyway, Reece left town 12 years ago when her father didn't believe her about an attempted rape from her Teacher. Fast forward 12 years, Reece finds herself injured and unable to ride bulls, looking for a place to crash. Knowing her parents are not home she chooses to crash at their house. Getting into town she runs into a broody stranger, share a few drinks and goes home with him. To wake up and discover he is the son of the man who caused her to leave town.
Grayson is instantly taken with Reece and when he learns who she is, he works to earn her trust in spite of his dad. Several bumps and threats along the way brings Reece to trust in her feelings for Grayson and look for her happy ending, but just as they start, something happens...

It's a great read, once again i found myself crying towards the end. Very well written. Now i will patiently await the next one :)

Review of Glitter and Grit by Jessie Evans

Heartbreak, betrayal and redemption - another 5++ star read

Let me just say this, I LOVE Jessie's writing so much that I devour everything she writes as quickly as I can and then I'm chomping at the bit for the next story. This book centers around Reece, who is the older sister of Tulsi from Diamonds and Dust. We got a little peek at her character from that book and I just knew there would be more to come.

Reece left home before graduating high school and a major issue with their Father. Tulsi never talked about what the problems were, but we could tell it was going to be big. We meet Reece in this book after she comes back to Lonesome Point due to a skull fracture from her bull riding. It's Christmas Eve and with no way to get to her parents farm, she heads over to the Blue Moon Saloon in hopes of finding someone that can give her a ride. She ends up meeting "Broody" there and they seem to hit it off.

He takes her home with him, but mixing beer with her pain killers wasn't the best idea. She wakes up the next morning and has no memory of what transpired after they left the bar. When she recognizes where she is, she panics and we learn about the reason for her leaving home when she did and what led to the trouble between her and her Father.

Grayson is the son of the man that caused her so much pain and she runs from him. I will not give any spoilers past this, but you will want to read this book. There were so many good points in this book that make you stop and wonder what we, as women, have had to deal with and the long road we still need to travel. I will say, that I laughed and cried ugly tears during the last 10% of the book, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I am looking forward to reading the next story Jessie writes, as she keeps writing amazing stories and we get to reap the rewards.

I loved Grayson he was patient and kind and had a way with words at times, "this may be hard for you to believe, but I like you Shortstack,” he said with a smile. “Even if you are the orneriest little thing I’ve met in a long time." He doesn't like the thought of her putting a tattoo on her bum, "that would be a damned shame.” He cupped her a** in his free hand . “You should never put a mark on something this perfect." Grayson can be series at times, "you could stop taking the pill as soon as you’re stronger and we could just go for it,” Grayson said, pinning her with a look that made it clear he wasn’t joking." I loved this book I love the.characters in this series I'm always looking forward to the next book.

Jessie Evans has given us another incredible book set in the wonderful small town of Lonesome Point, TX. Reece Hearst never thought she'd return to this town much less meet the incredibly handsome Grayson Parker. The events of her youth may be to hard to handle but for Grayson she is willing to try. This is book four in the series but it can easily be read standalone. You definitely want to grab this one, I highly recommend it!

4.5-5

"Because everyone needs rescuing...At least every once in a while."

Pro bull rider, Reece Hearst is back in Lonesome Point recovering from an injury twelve years after leaving it in her dust. But she does not want to be there or face her demons.

A chance meeting with a sexy stranger changes her first night impressions. But too much alcohol leads to a morning of questions and she wakes up in a house she never wanted to be in again. Now she is forced to deal with the memories that sent her running in the first place.

Grayson Parker is damaged from his own past but still can recognize a connection and something special. He has seen his share of trauma after serving in the military and has just returned to his family ranch. Their past history is intertwined in a way that complicates any interactions between them. But when she is in need of help, he insists on stepping in. He is sweet, attentive, protective, charismatic, and funny. He is a good guy with strong convictions. And she really fascinates him even as she is pushing him away.

But when he looked into Reece Hearst's eyes the last thing he felt was anything casual. She challenged him, intrigued him, and set his blood on fire.

Reece is prickly, guarded, feisty, strong willed, impulsive and pushes him away. She is also dealing with medical issues and an uncertain future. She does not want a Knight in Shining Armor and prefers to be self sufficient. She does not trust and has a negative outlook on life and harbors unresolved anger.

She wasn't looking for Happily Ever After and knew better than to start believing in fairy tales.

Grayson is a protector and he cannot seem to help himself from forcing his way into her life. They are both kind of lost souls newly returned home with family dynamics issues and have walls up. Neither are looking for a relationship, connection, or love or thought that it was possible. Sometimes you need a friend and find them in the most unlikely places. And sometimes friends end up wanting other benefits. And then an attachment grows that you are not expecting.

She'd made it clear a hero on a white horse was the last thing she wanted, but sometimes what we want and what we need are two different things.

Maybe love was real and maybe sometimes it blew in like a hurricane flattening all your preconceived notions in its path.

I enjoyed their sarcastic banter and flirting as well as seeing under their layers. They both had emotional baggage, stresses, and potential threats to their happiness. She especially really needed to be able to let go and forgive before she could move on. She had held onto anger for too long. So they needed to break down walls in order to get closer, deal with the fact she does not plan to stay in Lonesome Point, and handle the external stress and conflicts swirling around them...all while she is recovering from a serious injury and there are other dangerous elements at play in the background.

Grayson and Reece might be my fave couple and story from this series. They both had scars and had such a twisted complicated past to overcome. It was told in both points of view and had multiple layers to the story. This was humorous, flirty, sexy, suspenseful story of friendship, love, hope, and healing. We got a bit more with Reece's younger sister Tulsi and their parents (Diamonds and Dust). We met Grayson's sister Layla who is having her own issues and revisited with Bubba's brother Cole Lawson we first met in Saddles and Sin. Their story will continue in Chaps and Chance.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Reese Hearst is a champion bull rider on the professional circuit, but 12 years ago she was stripped as a rodeo queen for "consorting" with a judge--if nearly being raped by her trusted mentor/coach is "consorting"... Even Reece's dad didn't believe her side, but then he was best friends with Neil Parker. Reece ran away and hasn't been back to Lonesome Point TX in all that time, but now she's recovering from a severe head injury incurred in her last rodeo and needs a quiet space in which to recuperate. Knowing her parents are off in Montana visiting her sister over Christmas, Reece holes up at the Hearst Ranch, but not before making the acquaintance of a hot mature cowboy.

Grayson Parker is trying not to lose his family ranch, now that his father's dead and he's sheltering his sister from her abusive husband. He's not looking for a little recreation when he meets a spitfire at the Lonesome Point tavern. But, if she hadn't passed clean out, he'd have made a happy woman of that one--until he learns who she is the next morning. Grayson was never a fan of his father--not especially once his dad took to dating all sorts of young women when Grayson's mom died--so he up and left at age 18. Joined the Air Force for 20 years, and this homecoming is more bitter than sweet.

Grayson knows he should stay away from a woman his father favored, but he soon learns all Daddy's dark secrets and finds the truth more than nauseating. He's determined to see right come from it, and that means helping Reece, if she'll let him. Thing is, she's real stubborn. And acknowledges herself to be crazy. But, it turns out she's attracted to him, and the feeling is more than mutual.

Still, Reece has no illusions about love--and has even less desire to stay in Lonesome Point. Plus, the head injury she suffered seems to be worsening. And the investigation behind Neil Parker's suspicious death turns up even more dirt. Can she and Grayson find something more than a brief spark between them?

I really loved this book. Reece is a headstrong, impetuous character who actually acknowledges the mistakes she makes and seeks to fix them. She loves deep, which makes the hurts she suffers twice as agonizing. She did a whole lotta healing in this book, both physically and emotionally. Grayson is a treat for a male lead. Confident, not cocky, and steadfast. He does the right thing, because it's the right thing, even when it means trouble for his own family. He puts his love out on his sleeve, and wears it proudly. Excellent smexytimes. And, a swoonworthy couple. Loved.

When I am looking for a sexy cowboy, I know I will find one in Lonesome Point, Texas. This small town is chock-full of characters that just win you over with ease, and keep you coming back for more. And more. And more again. I’m not sure I’lll cope if this series were to end anytime soon…

Reece Hearst knows what it’s like to be beat up, both physically and emotionally. After years as a professional bull rider, those beatings have resulted in a potentially career (and life) ending injury and sent her back to the place she fled years ago… Her family’s ranch in Lonesome Point.

Meeting Grayson Parker – a man that’s connected to her past, even if she doesn’t realize it – isn’t going to keep her in the place she never wanted to return to. Unless Grayson has his say in the matter.

With his world tilting on its axis, and his own wounded heart on the line, Grayson is determined to reach into the heart of the beautiful Reece. He just has to prove that the past doesn’t have to change their future.

It’s pretty much safe to assume, when I pick up a book by Jessie Evans, that I am going to fall madly in love with the book and the hero. Glitter and Grit, and Grayson, are no exception. He was broody, no doubt, but there was something reassuring about him that drew me in. I loved his way with Reece, and how calmly he seemed to handle the upheaval in this book. He was steady and sure, even when given reason not to be, and that just worked for me.

The book, itself, was intriguing. It all came together in a perfect way, even with the potentially controversial subject matter. I enjoyed the spin on the story, and the way Ms. Evans made her heroine strong but vulnerable. She wasn’t weak – never that – but there was an air to Reece that made her change in outlook seem authentic.

This is yet another excellent book in what is fast becoming my favorite cowboy series. I love knowing that I can pick up a book from this series and am basically guaranteed a quick, fun read with serious steam and surprising depth. I can’t wait to get started on book five! ~ Beth, 4.5 stars

I love Jessie's Lonesome Point Texas series. So much. I want to know these people, I want to live with them. These small town people are full of life, emotion, sass and love. Jessie just gets better and better. I love the way she writes and I can't wait to read the next book because I know it will be amazing! She has given me more book boyfriends this year than any other author! She has this wonderful way of bringing her characters to life with their smart mouths, dynamic personalities and hearts of gold.

Glitter and Grit is the story of Reece and Grayson. Reece is Tulsi's sister and she's back in town after a rodeo accident. She meets Grayson one night and neither of them knows who the other is. It's the perfect scenario since she's only in town for a few days. Once she realizes who he is she runs, it's what she does best; runs to escape her painful past. Grayson isn't going to let her go without a fight. Reece decides she could use a friend, but Grayson feels like more than a friend. Can she risk her heart with this brooding stranger or when it's time to leave town will she run again. Will Grayson lay his heart on the line and ask her to stay? This is such a wonderful, emotional story that I could not put down. Grayson is smokin' hot, sweet and refreshingly thirty-eight years old! :) and Reece is a hilarious spitfire! I love seeing leading ladies that are tough, stubborn and can take care of themselves. Thank you Jessie for another book boyfriend and I can't wait for Cole and Layla's story!

She couldn't remember a damned thing about the body beneath his gray sweater and dark jeans. Which was a crying shame. Broody was even more handsome in the daylight with his blue eyes catching the dim light penetrating the shadows of the barn and his cowboy hat settled on his head.

Reece didn't really want to watch Die Hard, she wanted to crawl into Grayson's lap, straddle his thick thighs, and rub all over him like a cat in heat.

When Reece picks Grayson up in the bar that fateful night, things fall into place quickly. A bit unbelievable and with just a bit of internal conflict on Reece's end and they were off and running. I loved the strong character that Reece is. I totally felt for her and her situation with Grayson's father. No one should ever have to go through that and I couldn't even begin to imagine being in her shoes. Good on her to take life into her own hands and no let it control her. True, her methods may not be the best way of coping but at least she's doing something other than withering away.

Normally, I find that I side with the guys in most romance stories (what can I say? I like to swoon!!) For once, though, I actually didn't absolutely love Grayson. I felt he was a bit wishy-washy for my liking. There's nothing really definite about him--he's the broody guy at the bar, he's the son of the guy who ruined Reece's late-adolescent life, he's this awesome guy and hero, all at the same time. I feel like he's too much all at once and that makes him not enough of anything (does that make any sense?). I also don't love that he takes Reece's issues so lightly. I find that he, almost too quickly, dismisses any issues Reece may have and just assumes that he's the best thing for her. I find him almost too pushy for my liking.

Having jumped into this series without reading any other books, I would say that I'm not head over heels convinced but I would still look into reading the others. I found that this book was a bit too neat and tidy for me. Everything kind of wrapped up a little too nicely and easily. It was still worth the read, though! Go pick it up :)

Glitter and Grit by Jessie Evans is the fourth book in her Lonesome Point, Texas Series. This series is an awesome combination of romance and modern cowboy.

Reece's story was very moving. Prior to this book we only knew her as Tulsi's standoffish, professional bull-riding sister. Now we get the story behind the attitude and aloofness.

Grayson Parker is back. He's been gone from Lonesome Point for years. He enlisted after his mother died and has barely looked back. With his fathers recent and sudden death it's now down to him to take over the family ranch and help protect his sister Laney from her abusive ex-husband.

A chance meeting at a bar on Christmas Eve causes these two to cross paths and it's not until the next day that they realize the significance of who they went home with. Things only escalate from there.

The beauty of this series is that so far the stories have all intertwined and been about the people of Lonesome Point but have not been formulaic. Each story is unique to the characters and is a treasure to read.

When Reece Hearst is injured during her Rodeo Circuit, she has nowhere else to go so she decides to head back home to Lonesome Point. A place she left when she was 18 and due to personal reasons , vowed never to return. For those who don't know Reece turns out to be Tulsi's older sister - Tulsi was the one who married Pike Sherman in Diamonds and Dust - Book #3. On her first night back, she heads to the local bar and decides to sleep away her pain with Mr. Broody at the end of the bar. When she wakes up the next morning, she discovers that she has slept with the last person on earth - she ever wanted to have anything with - Grayson Parker. When Reece was 18 years old , she was raped by Neil Parker - Grayson's dad and everyone blamed Reece for it. Turns out though as the novel goes along, Neil definitely was not who people thought he was. As Reece and Grayson get to know each other, there is no denying it -that their is sizzling chemistry. Has Reece finally meet her perfect match in the least likely person she thought she would ? Would falling for Grayson, be enough to keep Reece staying in Lonesome Point ?

Find out in the latest book in the Lonesome Point series by Jessie Evans.

OMG...... I don't even know where to start!! Jessie Evans has created the beautiful town of Lonesome Point TX and the people who live there are just like your friends in real life. You have the mischief maker, the good girl, the newbies, the lifelong friends....its a town you feel as if you know in your heart.
With book 4 Glitter and Grit we get to meet Reece (sister to Tulsi) and Grayson (left for the military, when Reece was just a little girl). Reece has to deal with demons from her past, and Grayson is just the man to help her, but there is a little family "secret" that might just get in the way.

This book will make you cry so be prepared!!!

I am in LOVE with all of the cast from Jessie's Lonesome Point series, but there is something about Reece and Grayson that makes me want to be part of a menage relationship with them :D

I could not put this book down once I started reading, and if I get fired from my job, it might just be worth it :D

Highly enjoyed this!!

I absolutely adored watching Grayson and Reece coming together. Even though falling for him is terrifying for her, she doesn't fight her feelings much and doesn't run away from him. Thank god for that! I was half expecting her to run off, but she was rational and mature about everything.

Grayson was an amazing hero! The way he slowly worms his way into Reece's heart was wonderful to read! He was such a good hero! Reece was so confident and I loved that about her. The story starts with her trying to pick up Grayson at a bar! Lol, she's my kinda heroine.

This is book four but can be read as a standalone!

A great unexpected gem of a book.
A female bull rider with a fractured skull, an Ex military rancher overcome issues so unexpected.
His dad tried to rape her 12yrs ago, so she ran and needed no one believing that saved her being let down.
I loved the nickname he gave her Shortstack lol it showed a closeness I loved.
Without giving spoilers, this was full of love ( even if she tried to avoid it ) drama, angst, danger,
I gave it a 4star as I knocked 1/2 point for not having her bull accident part of the book, no bull riding in the whole book and the other 1/2 point off for lack of an epilogue eg 6mth or a year later.
Would definitely recommend

Reese Hearst left Lonesome Point far behind to prove herself on the rodeo circuit and avoid the small town, small-minded judgement of a community who only saw the worst in her. It's been twelve years, but her latest potentially career ending injury has her sneaking back home while her family's away, trying to come up with a plan to get back on the road and back to bull riding.

Grayson Parker has his hands full with a failing ranch and a sister whose abusive marriage has fallen apart, but when he meets a spitfire in a bar on a cold Christmas Eve, he's more than a little intrigued. Finding out that she's the same girl who ruined his father's name position in town with her scandalous accusations should have him thinking twice about getting involved with her. But she's like no one he's ever met, nothing he ever expected, and everything he can't get off his mind.

But... Well, first, I'm not sure what the “glitter” is about. The only mention of anything the least bit glittery is a rodeo crown won and lost over a decade ago, and Reese is about the last person in the world I'd associate with anything sparkly. The grit part makes sense, but I'm still trying to figure out the glitter.

Also, I was a bit disappointed that a story in a series focused on cowboy loving and country living really had very little to do with the setting. Reese is a bull rider forced off the circuit by an injury, and Grayson is trying to turn around the failing ranch he inherited, but other than some cowboy boots and a couple of pickup trucks, the whole country vibe is oddly missing. No one rides a horse or ropes a calf or really does anything ranch-y. Okay, so there was one time they fixed a broken fence. That was about it.

The Verdict: While Reese has been briefly mentioned in earlier books in the series, not much is known about her except for the fact that she turned tail and booked it out of town long ago, leaving her sister Tulsi and the rest of Lonesome Point behind. So it was interesting to get a look at who she really is, why she really left, and whether she'd be able settle down.

It's clear from the beginning that Reese hates Lonesome Point, not because she had big city dreams or some idea that she didn't belong but because the town itself betrayed her. When her riding coach made some aggressive and unwanted moves on her (i.e. attempted rape), she lost her rodeo queen crown for fraternizing with a judge, dealt with nasty gossip and judgement from schoolmates and townsfolk alike, and had to face the cruel realization that her own parents believed her lying attacker over her. Can't really blame her for leaving.

Now dealing with a pretty severe head injury, she heads back home to hide out and recover a little while her parents and sister are out of town, and fate leads her to a bar stool beside a handsome, brooding cowboy. Thinking a little no-strings-attached fun is at hand, she's horrified to wake up inside the home of the last man she'd ever wanted to see again, and finding out her handsome cowboy is the old pervert's son is just the icing on the cake made of awful. But Grayson Parker isn't like his dad, and when Reese's head injury enters scary territory, he steps up to help and become a friend she rather desperately needs.

Reese's character really surprised me in that she wasn't the stereotypical armored heart normally served up in romance novels like this. Yes, she definitely had baggage, and she was in no hurry to let someone take care of her, but she was able to almost immediately separate the man in front of her from the sins of the rest of the town. Even as she was determined not to truly fall for Grayson, she let him in, cracking jokes and shamelessly flirting, proving she had more character and depth than some two-dimensional girl who'd once been hurt.

Grayson surprised me as well. He was obviously shocked to find the damsel in distress he hadn't quite rescued was the same one who'd caused such a scandal with his father, but he knew his father had more than a few faults, and he didn't immediately judge Reese over the muddied facts of the past. In fact, he turned out to be the incredibly nice, genuinely good guy he claimed not to be, and it was impossible not to like him just as much as Reese did.

I won't spoil things by going into the crazy drama trip that popped up toward the end of the story, but like just about everything else, it was a rather pleasant surprise. It provided the decision point for Reese and Grayson, and it tied up the lurking past in an unexpected way that allowed everyone, presumably the rest of the town as well, to move on.

I did miss the cast of regular characters I've come to know in the series, since Reese was rather rootless, and just about everyone else was out of town, but I suspect if they'd all been around, we wouldn't have gotten the fun and rather sweet love story that Reese and Grayson managed to build. The holidays and isolation allowed them to find their path together without interference from anyone else, and now that they're all settled, I'm ready for the next Lonesome Point couple to come together!

I think this one is my favourite thus far, which feels a bit wrong to say about a book that covers such an awful wrong but Reece and Grayson are great characters and so well matched. I love a story where you want to continue in the epilogue, not because it feels incomplete but because it’s a happy place to keep coasting along.

This is the story of a strong woman who can take care of herself. But when the right man comes along she can let him take care of her and still be strong. I didn't want to put this down once I started.

good read

An enjoyable read once I got over the over the top attitude of the female lead. Once the romance started developing and the story was fleshed out was enjoyable. Would have liked the father situation to have been more fully explained but a good read.

The story felt rushed, the courtship, getting to know each other, the sex and the wedding seems fast. Joking around was funny but no one working or taking care of the horses or farm.

Full of drama

I love stories that are full of drama and this one quite a bit. Was a nice happy ending. Looking forward to the next book.

Engaging characters and premise. The plot moved rather quickly, which I sometimes struggled with.

Enjoyable

Hiding vulnerabilities behind tough snark stops working when faced with someone similar. Besides love this book touches on child pornography, rape and spousal abuse.
