Kate was born in Wigan, and lived in more than a dozen places when she was growing up, including England, Scotland, and the Netherlands. She trained as a print journalist and then worked for the BBC as a reporter and Education Correspondent, before switching to behind the scenes producing on programmes including Newsround and Panorama. Her final 'proper' job involved coming up with TV programme ideas for the BBC whilst sitting on beanbags. She is a dab hand at writing on white boards.
This book challenged a few things I have been lead to believe as being 'truths' for so many years. ie breakfast being essential, grazing being better than just eating 1 or 2 meals a day, etc. As for the fasting aspect, I am intrigued, if not totally sold on it, yet. I am still in the 'research phase' on that. As for the recipes and meal plan suggestions, I like that the author offers vegan options but there are just not enough in this book for vegans to bother with. I have found more by searching online, than looking through this book.
This was really good, lots of helpful information, yummy recipes and helped make sense of conflicting things in the news about food.I loved the personal stories in there and I feel motivated! Have done one fast day already and now looking forward to trying the recipes in this book.Written in a simple friendly way making it easy to read and take the 5:2 way of eating on board.
