When dating ends in deaths and threats, Molly might be better off staying single.

During one of Molly’s weekly meet-ups with her girls at their regular bar, Molly succumbs to the duress of her two best friends and begins the aggressive dating they sign her up for online where the pairings are questionable… and dangerous. They’ve entered her in an evening of speed dating. But at the end of the evening she finds an item from her past that raises questions… and danger.

When the number of deaths surpass Molly’s goodnight kisses, her past pushes into the present and Molly loses much more than she gains. A stalker has focused on Molly and refuses to let anyone else date her. But she refuses to be single for the rest of her life.

Is Molly doomed to a life of singledom wrapped in fear - or will the stalker turn on her next?

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Reading the description of the book had me intrigued. The fact that this is a very short read made me think that I was not going to get a lot of information about what the true plot of this series is going to be. However, I was wrong. Molly is still grieving the death of her sister. Everything seems to be at a standstill in her life.

This short story sets up for some detective work. I do not expect Molly to try and figure out what happened to her sister, but I do think she is going to play a vital role in discovering the truth.
I enjoyed Roxana Bell’s narration of this story. She made me want to continue and brought the characters to life. This is the first time I have read or listened to anything written by Bonnie R. Paulson and I have to say I am enjoying her writing style. I cannot wait to continue this series to see what happens with Molly’s dating life and if she can solve what really happened to her sister.

Molly is speed dating with her friends but will she end up with a date or .....? I thought the narrator did an awesome job - I just didn't care for the profanity. There was friendship, grief, the past coming back, and a mystery to solve. It does end on a cliffhanger. Kept me listening.

"A Date to Die For: #1 Why Me?" is the first book in the A Date to Die For series and sets us up for the whole series. From what I just read, you MUST MUST MUST read these in order!!!

In #1 Why Me? - you get to meet Molly and her friends as they have their weekly night out at their favorite bar. Molly (the main character) has a thing for the hunk of a bartender (who she thinks is gay) but he never takes her up on any of her advances. Her friends decide that she needs to meet someone so they all sign up for speed dating. After meeting the guys who signed up for the speed dating session, she finds a flattened penny on the table under a napkin. This freaks her out, since this penny is the exact thing her twin had given her and their friends before she was murdered two year ago. She goes home and crashes. And things just get creepier from there!!!!

This series consist of short stories (about 20 pages or so each) that leave you wanting more!! The author also writes it to where you feel like you are part of this story.

I received a complimentary copy of A Date to Die For: #1 Why Me? in exchange for my honest review. All opinions shared are 100% my own.

3 1/2 stars

I received a copy of these books in exchange for an honest review.
Each of these serials are pretty short, with the first four together being the length of a full length novel. I found the author's writing style to be very confusing to me. As it is written, there are so many extraneous thoughts in the writing from each of the character's point of view that I'm not sure how they can keep it all in. It's almost like reading the thoughts of an ADHD rabbit.
Once you get past all of the extraneous stuff, and get down to the story, it's pretty good. Molly is grieving for her murdered sister. Her friends send her out on a speed dating evening where afterwards she find a flatted penny, just like the one she has from her sister. She is convinced it is from one of the speed daters, and is determined to find out which one, by dating them all.
Its a fun serial, if you want to read it, just don't expect much substance.

"A Date to Die For: #1 Why Me?" is the first book in the series and sets us up for the whole series. We get to meet Molly and her besties as they have there weekly night out at their fave hot spot. Molly has a thing for the hottie bartender but he never takes her up on any of her advances. Her friends decide after a such a long dry spell she needs to meet someone so they all sign up for speed dating. After meeting a lot of duds instead of studs she finds a flattened penny on the table under a napkin, the exact thing her twin had given her and their friends before she was murdered a year ago. Freaking out she goes home and crashes. And things just get creepier from there!!!!

This is a short installment that leaves you wanting so much more!! It's also written in a way that you get the feeling that you're the one being stalked and not Molly. I had goosebumps!

I've never read a serial before, and I have to say it's really fun. This one is getting so good. I've read all three that are out right now, and I'm dying to know what happens (pun intended).

Molly has two lovable friends who set her up for speed dating because she's a little backward in the men department. Molly secretly has a crush on the local bar tender, but doesn't go after what she wants.

She goes along with the speed dating thing until someone leaves a clue linked to her sisters death. Things get tangled from there. I won't do spoilers, but this is similar to the old who-dun-its, and I love the way the story is unfolding.

There's something fun about waiting to find out what happens. I'm into the binge reading/watching of a series, too, but this is different, and I like it!

Molly is a young woman just trying to survive life. Her twin sister had been murdered some time before this story begins. Her two best friends, Sara and Claudia are desperately trying to get her out there dating and moving past her sister's death, problem is, her murderer was never found. She tries this speed dating thing purely from pressure from her friends. That's where the story turns. A flattened penny has been left for her to find. This is something her sister gave to anyone she cared for. Let the stalking begin.

This was a great story. Very well written and definetly a page turner. I am usually a werewolves vampire girl. This was a great change of pace. Looking forward to more work by this author.

I liked this book well enough ....I really did . Hard to give it more than two stars though as it stopped very abruptly . I did not find that a draw to continue the series to the end , but found it irritating !

Why Did I Read This?

Discombobulated, hard to connect characters. Very choppy feel and difficult to follow. Did not seem to flow at all. May or may not read more of this author.
